Our last name makes some names tricky. My BIL can find a way to make every name sound bad with our last name. Like his GF likes Oliver. He says it sounds like All-of-her-Poof
I'll poof that.

Has anyone used crayola window crayons before? Just curious how easy to clean they actually are. Yeah, we have 2 of them. I just use regular window cleaner to clean up...but I leave the artwork up for a while before cleaning it. I had to go over the window with a couple rounds of cleaner to get the window completely clean. It left a film after the first cleaning.

Has anyone used crayola window crayons before? Just curious how easy to clean they actually are. They're fun! When the markers got wet with the Windex the colors tended to run into each other a little bit and pool. It just took more paper towels. It was a great rainy day activity our sliders

I can see that. Your last name is basically every woman in my family's middle name. Bingo. Whenever I speak with someone and give my name, half the time they end up using my last name as my first; i.e., instead of Mrs. Smith, they just call me Smith. It happens so frequently that I usually don't correct them unless it's needed for exact paperwork or an appt or something. Our last name is also mispronounced as a common female first name. My three sister in laws warned me that is what I will be called at all doctor's offices and they were right.

I really like Marissa! 3-syllable names that end with A (yes, that specific) don't work well with our last name...it's kind of country music singer-ish or something. But I have always liked it. I can see that. Your last name is basically every woman in my family's middle name. Until flamingo mentioned on here at one point that it was her last name, I just assumed it was her middle name and she was trying to be Facebook private.

Thanks for the well wishes. Feeing awful.
So the pedi called in tamiflu for the kids. Has anyone given this as a precaution? How did the kids respond? I’ve heard tamiflu has bad side effects for adults so I’m planning to ride it out, but not sure what to do about the kids.

cagoldi, do you have Purple Carrot in your area? A coworker uses it and really loves it. It is a vegan meal service similar to Blue Apron, Plated, etc. Yes. I've tried some of their online recipes and they were really good. I'm thinking of giving them a try when the new baby comes. One thing I'm hesitant on is the fact that they are high calorie. Most everything was 700-800 calories/serving. I know that might not sound too crazy but I need to lose weight after P is here, and I seriously can't figure out how you make plant-based meals that rich. I'd like them to be in the 400/500 calorie range. But I still might give them a shot.

I decided to make homemade chicken noodle soup in the crockpot. The recipe on the back of the chicken broth container had zero seasoning, literally just: chicken, broth, noodles, carrot and celery. So I went online and found one that will hopefully be very good on this cold day. I need to run to the store and get egg noodles though. The snow let up for a while but it’s coming back down pretty good right now.

Anyhow morning! I'm in the office today trying to finish something up for one of my coworkers. Tomorrow is another field trip for Colin's class and I found out this weekend that his class only had 1 chaperone sign up. I didn't sign up originally because I figured other parents might want a turn, so I called this morning to offer up my services. So I'll go for a long run tomorrow, chaperone the kids to a museum, then work all afternoon. Now that I typed it out, I may have made a huge, tiny mistake. LOL. I was talking to a guy in my running group this weekend and he may have convinced me to sign up for the Providence Marathon instead of the VT City one. It's closer, cheaper and it's a faster course. Of course it's also 3 weeks sooner, so I need to test out my legs tomorrow and see if it's reasonable. If it is, I'll probably ask if he wants to start meeting early on Saturday mornings to get in our long runs together since we run similar paces and our goal finish times are in the same ballpark. I'm still struggling with my confidence though, it's annoying. dude. If MH can do a marathon, so can you. What's the longest run you've done? It wouldn't take you long to train since you're already an active runner.

I mean I could hand wash them, but... Can you try and pull both racks out at the same time? Then maybe you could pull up on the top rack and get the cooling rack out.

Doctor gave us the option but said it is a great tool for kids with asthma or other underlying concerns, but there are side effects. The pharmacist was very skeptical when she saw it was prescribed for N since she's so young..and I know your little one is even smaller.

My grandma is having her heart surgery tomorrow. I’m scared. My mom is really emotional and my heart breaks for her. She lost her dad when she was 13 to a heart condition. I’m not letting in the worst outcome. I need my grandma for a good many more years.

So I guess my grandma is having surgery for a mass in her abdomen. No idea what that means since she didn't even tell anyone about it until last night. She's been acting really weird and complaining about a lot of physical ailments lately but was refusing to go to the doctor. So whatever happened seems to have made them decide to move to surgery quickly. Well, shit. I hope she's okay. Did she offer any other details about the mass? Biopsies, etc? We know she's been sick for awhile, losing weight, lots of pain, etc. but refusing to give more details or see her physician. What we do know: she went to the ER on 1/3. Her doctor wanted to see her 1/5. She didn't go because she "still had enough pain pills and just needed to buck up." Not sure what happened between then and now other than all her kids calling and pestering her to go see him (she lives in AZ with her niece). I guess she got so sick this weekend that she went back to the ER and they discovered the mass Saturday, and scheduled surgery for today. So still waiting to hear about the outcome. Her procedure isn't until 4 so I may not know anything until tomorrow after I talk to my mom.

Good thoughts for your grandmas loves cagoldi and nam2013I hope everything goes well at your appointment ladystrat@klongoria we have the window markers. I don't find the clean up to be horrible. It's a nice inside activity and Layla gets the opportunity to do something mostly forbidden without it actually being naughty.

She hated the taste, but luckily didn't have any side effects. Looking back, I'm not sure it really did much. I probably wouldn't give it again just to avoid issues.
