DS1 (6) was FINALLY able to go back to school yesterday after only attending 2.5 days since Dec 15. He starts tutoring tonight for reading and math, too. It's nice that he won't be riding the bus home from school today because the bus driver almost left the neighborhood without dropping him off again yesterday afternoon. Soooo... three of the four days DS1 has ridden the bus this semester the bus driver has either completely or almost forgotten him. Awesome. How am I? I had another gallbladder scan this morning, so hopefully we'll get some definitive results tomorrow. Other than that, I'm good! QOTW: He wears a size 12. He has little feet. DS2 is four years younger and already wears a 10. He... does not have little feet.

J's 4.5, going on 16. Lately she's been very independent and pushing back a bit. Not in an inappropriate way per se, but definitely in a I'm-going-to-push-and-test-the-limits way. It's been interesting finding a balance. I want her to assert herself and ask questions; however, I'm still Mom and (in a lot of instances) what I say goes without question. Sigh... the teen years should be fun.
Dance starts again this weekend, and thank goodness! This chick needs an outlet on the weekends.
How am I? Stressed over work. Anxious over my work/life balance. Trying to survive. And I have three more months of this [sobs].
QOTW: She's in a 10, but we're pushing it. She probably needs to bust into the 11s. Girl has always has pretty large feet. I remember she went from a 4 to an 8 in one year - ONE YEAR! I spent a lot of money on shoes that year LOL

oldbaylover1024 I hate giving Walmart money, but The Boy was in a 5 when he started walking and in a 9 a year later. That summer, he was in a 7 in May and a 9 in August. It was nuts. I couldn't stomach paying more than $10-15 for a pair of shoes with him growing so fast Tar.get got all my money. They sold a line by Stride Right that was waaaay cheaper than actual Stride Right shoes. I also got lucky with some hand-me-down shoes (tags on and everything).
Plus, J plays so hard. I was buying shoes all the time for wear, too! Crazy.

The first pair of shoes he actually wore out was a size 9.5 tennis shoes. He didn't do daycare, though, and has always preferred bare feet at home/in our backyard. This girl goes through sneakers like toilet paper LOL I buy new sneakers probably 3-4x/year. It's ridiculous.
And now she's into boots and 'cute' shoes, so... you can imagine how easy shopping is LOL
ETA: She plays way rougher than a lot of girls her age. My niece is about a year older and has never - EVER - worn out a pair of shoes.
