I'm late, but I'll play...
Age: 11 months, 1 week, 2 days (not that I'm counting)
Milestones: He's soooo close to walking. He's taking lots of independent steps and getting braver with corners and pivoting.
Challenges: Did I mention walking? LOL He's into everything and he's so fast! There's not enough baby proofing in the world for this kid.
Funny/cute stories: He almost fell asleep in his highchair during dinner a few nights ago. Kid has been trying to skip naps, so by dinner he's exhausted.
How are you? Okay, but not great. Stressed and anxious over work. And trying to come to terms with this little boy turning 1 in a few weeks. Sigh... he's so big!
Anything else? We're having his birthday party in a few weeks. It's just family, but we have big families, so we're looking at about 35 people. I'm knees-deep in tax season already and sort of dreading this party. Not because I don't want to celebrate - I DO - but I'm so busy with work and trying to keep a good home/work balance that it's stressing me out. We're doing pulled pork, mac-and-cheese, and a huge salad, plus cake/ice cream and chips/dip. I'm excited, but also dreading everything involved with planning a party. Ugh.
Plus, a lot of his early days are coming back into my memory and it's giving me some feels. IDK... rehashing his early days isn't sweet and cute like J's were. It's revisiting those NICU visits and tubes, wires, scans, tests, x-rays, echocardiograms, bad news, good news, delays... it's overwhelming.
QOTW: He's in 12 month now, but I've already had to put some away because they're too short. I feel a growth spurt coming soon.
