The party was a hit. The girls got nice things and some $ for their education funds. Our house is basically cleaned up, but recycling day cannot come soon enough. I’m studying now, 2/3 are sleeping and dh is working. We are suppose to get a big snow storm tomorrow so I’m expecting to just stay in. Why go out if I don’t have to? On the flip side that means staying in all day and hoping we don’t make ourselves crazy. tinydancer and scorpioscuba do you have a theme for the cakes? We did rainbows and unicorns.

I love the unicorns and rainbows dizzycooks! You always do such an amazing job! 😊 DD’s theme is kitties! She is OBSESSED! Santa brought her a kitty for Christmas (not real!). I got this invite off of Etsy (this is the sample, not mine): I’m going do have a coloring table with kitty coloring sheets, we’ll do a kitty headband craft, and all the kids get to adopt a kitty! I’ve been scouring all the Party City’s for their assortment of Beanie Boos cats. And I’m going to attempt a smaller version of this for DD’s cake. I’m totally biting off more than I can chew so it might just be a disaster. 😳 My sister is making the cupcakes for me. They will be pink funfetti. Most of DD’s friends are through DS’s friends so there will be a lot of older kids there, thus the more big kid activities.

Hi Ladies! Sorry I have been MIA! dizzycooks - sounds like you have a good pediatrician- hope that all the suggestions work! All the Birthday party stuff looks great! I am here to ask for T&Ps. We finally got pregnant-I am six weeks now - and tonight I started bleeding. My first appointment isn’t until Feb 6th but I am going to try to get in this week if I can. This sucks

Thanks mamas! I will keep you posted. If the government stays shut down I can chill at home all day tomorrow, which would be awesome. @kelltothekell - so glad to hear that your bleeding stopped!

theoprah - That is scary and stressful for sure. I had some bleeding around the same time with dd2 - they got me in for an ultrasound within a couple days to check everything. I hope you get some answers soon and will be keeping everything crossed to hear some good news!

theoprah, I'm crossing everything for you that the bleeding stops. I also hope you can get in to see your doctor soon. Not knowing is the worst. Enjoy your day off tomorrow! MH still has to go to work. dizzycooks, scorpioscuba, love the unicorns and the kittys. So cute! Y'all are so creative, I could never do something like that on my own. We are doing a very loosely-themed art party, so the cake will have a paint palette on top and splashes of color on the side.

Also, this was me this morning, complete with the (caffeinated) tea when my Fitbit chided me for not getting enough sleep last night - after I spent 3 hours at the hospital with DD3 between 12-3 this morning. Everything's fine, but she couldn't sleep for more than 15 min at a time and the way she couldn't get comfortable and was inconsolable made me worry something was wrong that we couldn't see. But yeah, Fitbit, back off.

I’m charging my Fitbit today!! I got a new band. Also, schools canceled today due to a snowstorm. Good times. I’m hoping they are in love with being outside.

scorpioscuba, your party sounds adorable! We didn't end up doing any games or anything for our family party. They just played and it was marvelous. crimsonandclover, fitbit sleep tracking can kiss it. You don't need that drama. DH just left for work, its 6am, I am really hoping he gets to come home early. The worst snow is suppose to be over rush hour tonight. I am also hoping my girls will go out and play today. What else would be a good plan for a snow day?

Usually I love the sleep tracking function, and I like the little info tidbits it gives. But if it notices that I walked 5000 steps between midnight and 3 am, maybe it could be programmed to not immediately start with the tsk-tsking? Like - hm, there was obviously something up with this lady last night and it doesn't fit her normal pattern at all. Maybe I'll send her some coupons for caffeinated beverages to help her make it through the day.

theoprah so many good thoughts your way. So many cute party ideas. We aren't doing anything fanceh. We may take the cousins to the local bounce house and invited grandparents to come hang for a bit. My mom is anti this plan as she is terrified of the dreaded flu, and she does have a point but come on are we supposed to stay locked up until spring? In other news (and feel free to skip this bit because it's just a whiny vent) Work has been crazy, I am stressed beyond reality, there are. It enough hours in the day for me to do all the things I need to. hubs and I bicker over stupid shit because we are both tired, there is some big stuff we need to talk about and plan but I don't even want to have the convo because I know we will both get grumpy and I don't have the emotional energy for it at 9Pm which is the only time I see him when the babes isn't clinging to me. Also I am fat and i need to drink less wine. I need a do over on January.

theoprah, all the things are crossed!!! I hope they get you in ASAP. Waiting sucks! 😪 Happy Birthday to DD2 nellieoleson!!! 🎈 anything special planned for today? So sorry for the rough night crimsonandclover. You are due for some good sleep! You’d think AI would be a bit “smarter”, eh? 😉

Also, I am starting to think maybe DDs 1+3 have the flu, like the real one, not the stomach flu. DD1 came home with a fever today. DD3 has now had a low-grade for about 11 days with a few days of respite and DD3 for 8 days. They've also had cold symptoms and DD1 has been taking naps voluntarily, which she otherwise never does. I'm taking them to the pedi this afternoon, so we'll see what she says. Nothing really she can do, but at least she can write me off sick from work for them.

Weren't you just at the clinic over night? What did they say then? Did they run a flu test? You need a break!

dizzycooks, we never actually saw a dr. There were several emergencies, and after waiting 2.5 hours with no end in sight and DD3 not showing any signs of extreme discomfort like she did at home, I decided to go back home with her and try to sleep some more and then go to the pedi in the morning. I took her to the clinic because I was worried she was in acute pain from how she was acting in bed, but once we got to the clinic she was all smiling and playing with the toys (from 12:30-2:30 am, mind you...).

I have an appointment for tomorrow at 9am. Thanks for all the T&Ps!! We did all the January birthdays together so there was no theme - just a big family house party. DD wore her Elsa dress and we danced around to Let It Go The flu is a full blown epidemic around here! So many people are dealing with it. Sending get well soon vibes to all the sick parents and kiddos. kcrkcs - I am sorry you are so stressed! I hope that February is better!!

crimsonandclover, I hope your kiddos get better! I hear the flu is terrible this year. kcrkcs, here's hoping february is better. Is there anyone who can help you with work, or something else in your life, even on a temporary basis? dizzycooks, I hope your kiddos got outside to enjoy the snow. I saw some pictures and it looked crazy! nellieoleson, happy birthday to DD2! theoprah, I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.

Yep, they've most likely got the flu and DD3 also had an ear infection, so that explains the horrible, awful, no good, very bad night we had. I gave her the first dose of antibiotics before bed last night together with some ibuprofen and she slept 11 hours without making a peep.

However, DDs 1+2 were complaining about sore throats and ears, so we went back to the pedi this morning (a mere 15 hours after the last visit...), and she found ear infections in both of them. So now they're all home with the flu and ear infections. Awesome.

crimsonandclover - oh no! I hope that your sweet girls feel better soon! I saw a nurse today - she sent me to the lab to get blood work to check my HCG levels. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow. So hopefully tomorrow I will know either way.
