kaeguri , which company did you use for your ancestry test that was able to break it down so specifically by country? DH is half korean-- his sister got a test done through ancestryDENA and they only got as specific as "asia east." So I did Ancestry and all mine said was 100% Eastern Asian and I was like wtf, I paid $100 for it to tell me what I already pretty much knew? But! If she goes to the settings, and downloads the raw data, she can take the zip file and upload it into WeGene or DNA.land (both are free) and it will give a more detailed breakdown. WeGene in particular is a Chinese based database, so has a ton of info on specific Chinese ethnicities. It pinpointed me down to Northern Han Chinese. Pretty cool stuff. GEDmatch also has more in depth genealogy tools as far as comparing chromosomal data but is not user friendly. At all. I'm so lost. I did find out I share almost identical DNA with 3 ancient samples from Russia and Siberia and one found in Montana that lived 5,000-12,000 years ago. thanks, that's neat! i knew that you could download your raw DNA, but i didn't know there were sites that gave more details on ethnicity. i had only heard of some sites you could upload to that were health-related. i'll have to check this out.

TMI alert: Any ideas for help with constipation? My poop is so hard I can’t push it out....bleh 🤦🏻♀️ in order of least to most effective: -fiber gummies. i get this brand at the supermarket and it does seem to help move things along if you take it regularly -stool softener (docusate sodium)-- i find you need to take 2 for it to do anything. this is good to have on hand for postpartum anyway. get a huge bottle at costco for cheap. they also make prenatal vitamins with stool softener in them. i had samples of these for a while and they were great. speaking of which, the iron in prenatals really exacerbates the situation. so you could get some kind of multivitamin without iron and alternate between the two -lecithin supplements (capsules)- take several spread out over the course of the day. TMI but this helps lubricate things along. this was an accidental discovery when i was taking it for blocked ducts when BFing - natural calm magnesium supplement-- this is the miracle cure. take it before bed and you're guaranteed a poop in the morning. it is pregnancy safe but you may have to experiment a little to get the right dosage. the recommended dose is 2 teaspoons mixed with water, which works great for me when not pregnant. after experimenting when pregnant i realized i only really need 1 or 1 1/2 teaspoons driiiiiink as much water as you can. it really makes a noticeable difference. consider a DIY squatty potty-- a stool or something you can prop your feet on so that you're in more of a squatting position on the toilet. that helps a bit, too.

kam3100 all of those above are great suggestions. I also would get some fiber one cheesecakes. They’re yummy and help you out. I mistakenly ate four in one sitting while nursing my last newborn and just ...wow. You don’t need four in one sitting.

TMI alert: Any ideas for help with constipation? My poop is so hard I can’t push it out....bleh 🤦🏻♀️ My Dr gave me the okay to try suppositories. Not glamorous, but they work every single time. You can find them in the laxative isle at Meijer, Wal-Mart, cvs, etc. I also tried milk of magnesia, prune juice, and a powder one. Can't think of the name. The suppositories worked the best for me. GL.

TMI alert: Any ideas for help with constipation? My poop is so hard I can’t push it out....bleh 🤦🏻♀️ Colace. Start taking it now every day and don't stop until like 4 weeks postpartum.

I just shared a large skillet chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream with MH. Oh my god it was SO GOOD. I'm on sweets lockdown now except for the 150 calorie mini chips ahoy packs in my work lunch. I want to buy a cookie cake for Valentine's Day since I can't have champagne this year. I told myself if stick to one real dessert a week for the next three weeks I can get one. 😂

Natural calm magnesium is a pregnancy hero. I get the “unflavored” kind which tastes like lemon and mix it with iced tea and it is soooo good and works really well.

Hi ladies, can I just jump in the mix here or do I need to make an intro thread? I'm due 7/11 with my 3rd (DS is 5 and DD will be 2 in March). I'm usually a big lurker on parenting (well General Discussion now) and participate a bit on the TV boards. But I want to be more active here and get to know my fellow BMB people. So yeah.... Hi!

I put biscuits in the oven to have with scrambled eggs and why do they take sooo long to bake??! Eggs will have shredded cheese on them and bit of salsa because I don't like the overwhelming egg taste right now.

Eggs will have shredded cheese on them and bit of salsa because I don't like the overwhelming egg taste right now. That sounds so good! Once I get past the first trimester, I'll eat more eggs for breakfast. I just can't handle them right now but they're great for blood sugar first thing in the morning (history of GD).

I just started being able to tolerate eggs and coffee again this week. I have missed my morning coffee so much!!! Getting out of that first trimester is glorious LOL

I'm in the in between stage where maternity clothes are too big and regular clothes are too tight. The belly band was kind of uncomfortable too. It's frustrating.
