Hopefully that’s not true. They let L go 4 hours in the NICU so I do at home too. I don’t have to wake MOTN he wakes up every 2.5-3 hours normally.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Since switching them from full breast milk to 50-50 breast milk and preemie formula they’ve had good gains.

DS1 was full term but slow to weight and I have to wake him every three hours until he was 4-5 months old 🙈

With DD I stopped waking when she hit her birth weight again. I can't remember if the pediatric told us to do that or if I just decided that on my own. Is that not a thing?

That is what the pediatrician told us as well. Honestly I didn't wake him before but he never went more than 3.5 hours without waking up during that period anyway.

That was what our pedi told us too.

I woke my first three until the pedi okayed not. They were all shit sleepers. I let DD4 go four hours from the get go, and stopped waking her as soon as she passed discharge weight. She still managed to gain 9oz in a week. We’re good. Lol.

Agreed!! Our doctor said every 4 hours but there have been a few times I’ve overslept like last night & he is obviously fine. So I’m like 🤷🏻‍♀️ Started stretching it to like 4.5-5 hours haha. He is such a porker though, I’m positive he’s gained a pound and a half since he was born (my unofficial scale says more so I’m rounding down haha). But ya, I figured he wasn’t eating well when I woke him every 3 so we pushed it to 4 and that works better for us. Now during the day I’m shoving he boob in his mouth constantly lol so I think that helps.

My dr insisted 4 hrs and my DD gained weight suuuper well. While it totally sucked it did help my supply! I think.

How’s everyone’s night going so far?

So far so good. Since I’m exclusively pumping because the boys are on 50-50 breast milk and preemie formula I decided to up their bottles slightly. More spit ups but they seem to be resting better 👍

I am tired. I feel a little more prepared tonight, bottles washed, milk already fortified for tonight and I am putting the big to sleep while H is feeding the little! I am hungry and have to pump then Hopefully get to sleep for a little before the next fed.

Baby has just not been settled this evening. And I thought I finally got her cozy and good for a chunk but she’s back up after only an hour. Hoping that this feeding will do the trick and I can get at least a three hour stretch. I’m feeling very tired at the moment.

I’m so happy.’Z who has been the fussiest of the two always calms down when I “shhhhh” him but it’s not like I can do that forever. Ds1 hated being shushed.

I ordered a baby shusher but it won’t get here for two days. I was chatting with a friend and she suggested I find a shusher YouTube video.

Guys, I plugged my phone on and found a black screen video of a woman saying shhhhhh. I played it on low and Z was out. He’s been waking up his brother with his fussing so this was amazing.

I doubt it will work all the time, every time. But man it was such a help. I don’t regret ordering the shusher though because I can’t give up my phone every night 😂

I can’t find the snuza. I think DD1 had it earlier. And now my anxiety is heightened and I cant go back to sleep.

I have to brag on DH. He has been amazing and helpful and has been bending over backwards to make sure I am doing okay and taking care of myself and getting a decent amount of sleep. We really struggled with finding a groove with our last two kids so I am really impressed with him this time around.

We have a train track that runs behind our house. It is incredibly low traffic, we probably don't even average a train a day and they always go out and back. One just went out at 12:30 am and came back at 3:30 am and woke me up both ways 😠 in all the time we've lived here I don't remember one ever going by that late. At least my kids stayed asleep!

And I’m back. Last feeding he took 20 minutes to drink his bottle and another 20 to fall asleep. This time I hope he is out sooner. I have to get G up in less than an hour.

Girl just won’t settle. She fell asleep after nursing but it’s a very fitful sleep and has woken up if I put her down. I’ve been up for over an hour now. Come on girl, mama needs more sleep!

In the meantime, I’m shopping for clothes for Disney. We’re headed there in April. Should be chaos, but hopefully fun too!

Not MOTN but just catching up on this thread. I keep thinking of all the cute events/holidays I’ll have to buy matching for now haha. Somehow I have managed to wait until closer to those dates to think too much about it..so far.

Come to think of it though, I’m also excited about being able to pick out two girls outfits lol! I have a lot of fun with DS’s clothes too and really do think little boys stuff is so cute, but I usually have a harder time choosing what outfit to pick for DD1!

I kind of keep forgetting I have 2 girls now. Still blows my mind a bit I have 3 kids haha. And I always thought we’d have more boys for some reason. I guess partly because DS was first it was hard to imagine having girls after.

Baby girl was fussy this evening but I managed to get her to sleep, then I fell asleep sitting up on the couch holding her. Whoops. We just moved to the bed. Hoping I can feed her and she’ll go back to sleep. And maybe just maybe give me a four hour stretch? That would sure be much appreciated.
