GM everybody. flamingo, I hope you get the correct roof! I had not idea there was so much possible confusion w roofing. 🤔 Afm, I have an appt this afternoon. I’m finally going to see someone about my fear of flying. My dad used to have to get drunk to get on a plane, but after a trip where he was so drunk my mom was completely embarrassed, she refused to fly with him again until he saw a doctor and got some pills. Lol.

Morning! I don’t know what happened but all the snow we were supposed to get overnight didn’t come. It is pretty windy out though. H has school this afternoon, otherwise nothing else planned.

I mean, if surgeons occasionally remove the wrong limb, I imagine the wrong house has been re-roofed! What a nightmare. (Although obviously not as bad as losing the wrong arm!) When my grandma went in for her mastectomy she sharpied which boob they were to cut out of lol. She was terrified they would take the wrong one. When H had his orthoscopic done on his right knee, his surgeon initialed which knee it was. When they did knee replacement on the left, he initialed that knee as well. I just figured it was so they wouldn't have to figure out once they got into surgery, one less thing to worry about. It took a long time for those initials to wear off as well.

Morning! I’m exhausted! Had dinner with the girls last night and when I got home S was in bed, but not asleep at 8. MH said he laid her down at 7. He then went to bed and her shenanigans escalated till 10!! 3 hours!! And she cried and cried. I don’t know if she wasn’t feeling good or was just over tired. But I was at the end of my rope while MH was fast asleep. At 10 I woke him and asked if he’d given her any Motrin and he hadn’t so I gave her one and took her for a quick drive to lull her to sleep. I wished I had done it an hour earlier. I never do that...but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Now I’m trying to get packed up because S and I are headed to STL because my mom’s retirement party is tomorrow. Going to try to beat the weather that supposed to come in this afternoon.

I think it's great that you're doing something about it, @yummeex. I totally understand it being a new fear. Having kids can open up a a whole new world of anxiety. This 100 times. I hate driving in the snow now in a car with 4WD or AWD, after years of sledding around in my old POS car without much concern. Everything makes me so damn nervous now. I'm glad you're taking steps to work through it, yummeecookee.

Morning. Another good night for Chase and I had high hopes for Colin, after he ran in around midnight to pee. He still wet the bed. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) Just a tiny bit but still... He's so sad and whiny about it and of course DH and I are feeling pretty helpless. Poor kiddo.

Both times my dad had surgery last year, every nurse & dr that came in asked what he was having done. I'm all, "Shouldn't you know that already?" Lol.

My mother sent me a text asking about baby food. She has to buy some for my dad. He had to stop trying to stretch his mouth to get his dentures in because the sores from radiation are too bad. She said she didn't know what to buy. Ummm, just go to the baby food aisle and grab something. This isn't rocket science. She told me later that she still had to water down the baby food to slurp it off the spoon because he can't open his mouth wide enough to get the spoon in. I asked her why she didn't just buy the pouches.
At what age do you just become an idiot when you get old?

I'm sorry about your dad. I hope she can figure out something that will work for him.

I am also afraid of flying (though this will likely surprise nobody with my anxiety issues), and have to have a pretty good buzz. I've skipped out on a couple trips while pregnant just because I wouldn't be able to have a few drinks before the flight!

Morning. We have been up since 5ish and all got out of bed at 6. I was on time for work! Maybe we just need to get up earlier..
Our Barnes and Noble is closing tonight, which is the major hit of our little downtown, and I'm pretty sad about it. We are getting a gigantic Anthropologie in it's place, which is super lame. B&N was the perfect pit stop to entertain kids, bathroom break, easy gifts. We are getting an Amazon bookstore nearby, but lame. So we will prob go for one last visit and get 5 guys, assuming we can all function tonight after such an early morning.

The waiting room at dance is so tiny, and most of the moms there are very inconsiderate. Last year it was such a dream, and this year, an absolute nightmare! So I dropped Josie off and I'm sitting in my car for the next 45 minutes.

That sounds awful for your Dad tgrimes , I'm sorry. My mom sent a pic of him the other day. The whole front of his face is red, like bad sunburned red. I hate to think of what the inside looks or feels like. My coworker's father is having radiation on his jaw and he had to get a feeding tube put in because the sores are so bad.

I don't know if anyone who's still here shops on Modcloth but they have a lot of cute stuff on sale right now.
Has peplum reached to point of being accepted as a classic style and can still be worn even though it's not trendy anymore?
Someone talk me out of buying this Hello Kitty dress and dinosaur ballet flats...

Terrible, tgrimes. The pouches sound like a good option. Has your mom never worked or done anything independently? I feel like there were a lot of women like that in previous generations who are completely helpless/like to feign helplessness.

Hi Ladies! Is it ok, if I just jump back in without a re-intro thread? I can't figure out how to get to the main N13 board on Tapatalk, but I've really missed talking with you guys.
There has a been a lot going on around here, so I've been off the grid. I'll lead with the big news...I'm pregnant... again. I'll give you all a moment to process that before I drop the bomb that it happened almost a year AFTER my husband got a vasectomy. Yeah...if anyone was going to fall into the >1% failure window it would be us. So, we are expecting another baby girl in May and Evie is going to finally get a sister ❤️
Anyway, as a result of preparing for having FIVE KIDS(!) I'll be working a lot less, and doing the SAHM thing a lot more, so I'm hoping to pop in more frequently. I don't have it in me to start a new baby board, N13 is my home.
I hope everyone is well, I promise not have too many annoying questions while I catch up on the haps. XO
