My mom is 58 and I think she is young-ish. I think so too, I’m 31. Most of my friends parents are older. My mom is 57, so I think pretty young. My oldest sister is 36. So my mom was 21 when she had her. My dad is 59.

Josie was such a calm baby and early toddler. I'm sure it was because it was just us with her. The stuff that Charlie's doing in the last 10 months are things that she did when she was 2+. I guess having an older sister influences things. I don't think it's just because it was your first, Charlie totally reminds me of Clark. No fear and always looking for adventure. L is a waaaaay easier toddler, though she does still get into her fair share of mischief (and she's basically the bully of daycare). I love trying to figure this stuff out, knowing that I'll never really know if it's nature or nurture.

My mom is 62, dad is 63. My mom had just turned 29 when she had me, I had just turned 29 when I had B, and my sister will have just turned 29 when she has her little boy this summer. We are very consistent.

flamingo that was why I wanted my first at 25. My grandma was 25 with her first, my mom was 25 when she had me, I wanted to follow in this tradition, oh well 😉.

guster that’s why monozygotic twin studies are soooo fun to read! That reminds me of some show I watched years ago, and I think they said heritability of certain personality traits was estimated around 70%? No idea how accurate that is. They had several examples of twins who were separated at birth but were very much the same as one another as adults. I recall one set of brothers had both become firefighters, had very similar looking wives, drove the exact same truck, etc.

The dates just popped up for the open house at B's school and I cannot wait to take him, he's going to be blown away. Also registration begins February 1. I'm registering my kid for kinder, I cannot believe it. Time flies.

Dude's Pre-K teacher has been out a few days for a family emergency. I guess her husband had minor stroke.
I want to send her a card and...something? I know we've talked about what people need in the hospital but I'm drawing a blank.

I’ve read, studied and researched a lot about parental/paternal/maternal influences, rearing patterns in relation to child behaviour etc., but always stayed in the 50/50 camp.

I know we've talked about what people need in the hospital but I'm drawing a blank. Gift card to a meal delivery service? A blanket to use in the hospital, magazines to kill time, sweets, notepad to write down questions? Those were the things (beside clean clothes, phone chargers etc) I needed while in the hospital with dd. ETA forgot to say I’m sorry for A’s teacher.

Being successful career wise and smart was her thing, what’s happened to the girl that was part of the Obama campaign trail. Plus what’s up with all the freaking songs?! ETA apparently I have strong feelings about this 🙄.

guster that’s why monozygotic twin studies are soooo fun to read! My nieces are identical twins, they were mono amniotic, meaning they shared the same sac. They are 7 and look exactly alike, but are different as night and day personality wise and don’t get along great. But are BFFs with their other siblings. Lol.

And I hate that Rory is just floating around like nothing. And her relationship with Logan - that really made me mad. I wanted her with Jess. The town paper thing was just beneath her. And Sookie only being in it for like a minute was awful too.

I liked that she was with Logan, but didn’t like the cheating part. She degraded herself to ‘one off those girls she used to hate’. And I didn’t care for how she treated her boyfriend.

The roof is done! They're cleaning up now. These guys don't mess around. Our house in FL (granted it was larger and had a more complicated roofline, etc) took 3.
We are dragging this house (and the owners) kicking and screaming into the new millennium.

I was hoping when she asked him if he was really going to marry Odette that he would change his mind. Or when Jess came to visit that it would have turned into something. I liked where they went with Emily. I wish they hadn't done the language barrier thing with her maid though. That was kind of obnoxious.

peachsmama I have an appointment today! I’m In the waiting room right now. Usually I try to go in the morning, so I have Ryland with me. He think the fact that I had to pee in a cup is the coolest thing ever, and he would like to start peeing cups.
