lfig I hope S feels better today! peachsmama I hope both the boys feel better today and take it easy on A so he isn't bothering you all day! H is out of town tonight for the first time since his surgery. I'm more excited about this than I probably should be.

Besides a sick kid and probable doctor visit, I have a girls night dinner with some friends tonight. Super excited for that. Going to try and get a little housework done today. My cleaning lady had surgery right after Christmas and is out for a while so I’ve got to step up my cleaning game. It may be March before she’s back.

Morning! Lots of visitors today, first my aunt, then my friend and my mom is coming in a little bit. Trying to keep the house clean in between 😂😂😂. Not much on the agenda today. Officially we have a New Years thing tonight at school, but I’m not sure I’m up for it. So we’ll see. Hope all the sick kids are doing better!

mwhip I understand your feels 100%! My H is gone a lot from Oct- Feb. so come spring and summer when he doesn’t go as much, well, let’s just say absence makes the heart grow fonder. The full on togetherness doesn’t suit us well. Lol.

He's so sad when he's sick, it breaks my heart. I would be happy to lol.

Every now and then I hear about couples who work together and I think how do you not go insane or divorce?

Hope it's up from here peachsmama! Work today. Much boring. I hope it's slow though because I have one homework assignment left and not a clue what to do with it.

Morning!
Day 7 of Snowpocalypse. We had sub-32 temps last night so everything that sort of kind of melted yesterday re-froze. Still no school. 😫 I’m not sure if B has sports class today or not, need to find out.
B needs a haircut today and I might see if they can do something for C...trim her bangs, even up her mullet, etc.
My ILs are coming this wknd (yaaaay) so I should probably finish painting my kitchen in the next day or so, too.

Hi everyone! I’m going to try and keep up today. I’ve been battling a super cold since the wknd. But I feel like I’m just over the worst of it and on the down slide. Thank goodness.
My other news is that it’s mh’s last week at his job. After almost 8yrs, he’s leaving the govt (I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little scared!).

Mh tried to bitch at me this morning about the cats' poop smelling and blaming me for that since I fed them extra last night....uh, it's poop. Poop smells. I told him the cat boxes were in that room first and if he has a problem then he should move the shit in "his" room and sleep in there. or idk, BUY A BIGGER HOUSE!!!

Wow yummeecookee that’s exciting but a big change. I know I will feel somewhat mixed when my H retires from the Navy. Did y’all get the DCP situation worked out (are kids able to stay at old place?)

Oh, funny that we’re talking about spouses working together. Mh and I have been carpooling since I took my new job in Sept. We don’t have the same employer but we are in the same industry and our buildings are near each other and we interact w some of the same ppl. Since we chat during our car rides, sometimes I find that when we all sit down for dinner, we have nothing left to say.

Thanks for asking! Yes, we are going to be able to keep them at the current DC. I’m going to be the one doing all the pickups and drops offs now since we won’t be riding together and the DC is near my work. Right before Xmas, I put them on a waiting list for a preschool near our home. They think we have a shot of getting both kids in around June or worst case, September. So fx.

Morning, I hope all the sick kids start feeling better! I'm weaning off of an anxiety med and starting up another, so I'm feeling really queasy today. Other than that, same old!

flamingo, have you cut C's hair before? I've never cut L's and have been wondering if I should be giving her a little trim here and there or anything. I'm not going to give her bangs because the poor girl has some funky cowlicks in the front that I think will be easier to manage with no bangs.

Cadence said she didn't want to go to school today. I told her she needed to get used to it because she would be going to school for a long time and after that she would be working for pretty much the rest of her life. Her response:
I'm just going to work for myself.

Good morning. I woke up in a ton of pain today, I have my ortho visit at 1 and am hoping I get some more clarification on recovery. I am going home after that and hopefully can rest before picking up C. My mom is coming over tonight so I can show her how to give Max his pills while we are in Disney. I hope S feels better lfig! Glad to hear M is on the mend peachsmama. flamingo, you have all my sorries. Does your H's office have heat yet? mwhip,DH and I discussed working together at some point but we have a 72 hour max togetherness time so it wouldn't work. Did I tell you guys my MIL texted last night that she is planning her vacation and will take C for us 6/30-7/4? I am so excited she wants to do this again! Almost makes up for the not telling us about FIL's heart attack.

I need to figure out what to do with Cadence on Monday. I was going to take her to the movies, but there is nothing playing that I feel would keep her interest. It is supposed to be cold and rainy, but I'll need to get her energy out somehow. I guess I'll start googling indoor play places. @melaniesue05 do you work Monday?

I'm not going to give her bangs because the poor girl has some funky cowlicks in the front that I think will be easier to manage with no bangs. No, other than a couple little snips with manicure scissors, she hasn’t had a real cut. When I took B in last time the stylist said something about most little girls get their first cut at 3. But I feel like my kids have a lot more hair than ‘average’ so Idk. It’s just awkward now...my goal is a little bob/pageboy that I can scoop up on one side with a bow, but We aren’t there yet. I don’t know if anything can be done to fix the Joe Dirt look she’s rocking while the sides grow in, though. ETA: my friend’s daughters both had crazy hair as newborns that stayed that way the first year or so. With her second, she said she took her in and had it trimmed/evened up at some point, and her hair grew in much better and more evenly than her older daughter’s. So that’s been in the back of my mind... sorry for the novel, I have a lot of thoughts about this!

I feel like as soon as I cut Cadence's hair the first time it started growing like crazy. Now I just trim her bangs myself and we haven't touched the rest of it.

wedding no heat yet, he said they are basically the lowest priority on the list for Facilities staff. They’ve got space heaters going and I think everyone is just wearing lots of layers!

I had to have Evie's bangs trimmed at 9 months or so. But kid was born with a head full of hair. I still remember the nurses and my OB joking they should give her a hair cut when she was coming out and I was all like 'just get her the fuck out of me!!!' I was not amused.

Morning, friends.
Just on the bus to work, yesterday was crazy busy which is great because the day felt like 5 minutes. My wedding song just came on my playlist rotation, I cannot believe it was almost 6 years ago, time flies.

H heard back from the recruiter yesterday, after email the HR directly of the company and texting his potential new boss, neither of which answered him. The recruiter sent an email stating that something came up in his background check and no start date could be confirmed. Not sure if this means everything is off the table or what?
The only thing we can think of is that he had to have a drug test performed, and of course the pain pills he was taking for his knee replacement would show up. The recruiter, HR and his potential boss all know he had to have surgery, so it's pretty shitty that no one would reach out direct, if that is what was found. He could easily provide doctors notes for the scripts, but I think he's at the point he wants to tell them to fuck off.

I'm going to take Josie over the February break, but I'm pretty sure I will keep it long m. She's in a wedding in June and I'm might want to put it up for that. After that, who knows?
