I’d like to know what apps your 4 year olds love. Also, what apps did they used to love at age 2 so i know what Z might like. Right now O is playing Sonic, a Pixar puzzle app, and a phonics app by 22Learn. Let me know what are the big hits for your kids because there’s so much out there i don’t want to waste my time downloading nonsense. Is there a good way to organize what you have downloaded on there? So far it seems like everything you open ends up on the rotating carousel but you can also have it located on the “home” page where they scroll down for it. It kinda annoys me that everything automatically saves on the carousel after you open it. It seems like it can get super crowded/disorganized. Paging Cher because you were the reason i bought my kid a kindle. Thank you by the way, he loves it.

H just downloads whatever she wants because we have free time on there. I don’t really mess with it much. She has been recently playing baby hazel games. She likes peppa pig, some sort of dentist app (you clean teeth, put on braces, etc), and think rolls (which I actually think is kind of fun myself). She likes the puzzle and coloring apps too.
S plays with H’s kindle occasionally and I’ll pick a Disney game of some sort or peppa. On my iPhone she likes the fisher price games but I’m not sure if those are available for kindle. ETA: I’m trying to decide if I get S a kindle for her birthday or make her wait until 3 like I did for H.

One thing I hate about the Kindle is the parental setting at this point doesn't allow you to limit how much your kids download. My kids often download so much crap the Kindle gets filled up (even with a card that holds a kagillion gibabytes) and then works slow. They really need to set it so you can max downloads at say, 90% full. Also the auto-cache feature that is supposed to allow you to clear off old programs that are not regularly used never works. At most it removes a tiny amount when I still need to clear out like a gigabyte worth of stuff.
That being said, I usually just have it on the kids profile (Freetime) and let them go to town selecting their own stuff. They both really like the Toca apps (simulated hair cutting, baking, etc). There's a fun Toy Story one where you shoot balls to knock down aliens. Maddie really like the puzzle ones like Cut the Rope and the water alligator one (I have no clue what it's called, but you figure out how the alligator in the shower can get the water). I also have Netflix on there for them and if we're going to be in the car I download something from there or Prime for them to watch. Cass liked a Super Why game that teaches them about letters. They usually have at least one character color book on there, basically an art app that's focused around whatever character they like--they are basically all the same thing. You can find those by searching for apps by character.
I don't do anything to organize the carousel (and I agree that feature needs work as well) but I have shown them how to tap on the Apps tab so they can find things more easily.
For Z the girls used to like what I think was called Tap Farm. Basically just clicking farm animals and it does neat things. Also the art apps. There were also some piano apps they liked. Just easy tap and be amused type of things so they don't get frustrated with something too challenging.

The Teeth cleaning one may be a Toca one. They have a ton like that. Be a dentist, be a doctor, be a vet, be a chef, be a hairstylist. All are a hit in our house.

I put it on the normal one. It was when M was like 2 and I gave up. I don't even remember. I don't need it now. I wiped my moms old ipad clean and downloaded games he likes and kids youtube. And Jack uses an old android tablet my mom had and I did the same thing.

We have iPads, not Kindkes, so I don't know if the App Store is the same or not, but endless alphabet is a big hit (for both kids) – it has music, numbers, letters, spelling, and Spanish. I think we pay eight dollars a month for it. Charlie likes Metamorphabet-- letters that change into objects and animals. Otherwise, the only other games that hold Josie's attention for more than a minute or two are: vignette (it's a game where you have to manipulate and turn a abstract shape to make an everyday object) labyrinth (a puzzle game where you have to manipulate the blocks on the screen to get a ball in a hole), handwriting without tears (a letter tracing program) She will also sometimes asked to play the games on Nick Jr.
There also is Elmo ABC and Elmo 123 that she liked a while ago. It might be good for Z. You trace the letter or the number, and then you can play game, watch a video,or color a about the number or letter.

E quickly learned a lot ambit numbers using the UmiZoomi app and it works without wifi (so in the car) He's much better with the Super Why app and we recently found a monster phonics app (monster words) which was pretty good.
Peppa apps are fun and the Sago cat (sago mini road trip) games. I think there is even a Caillou app that is playing in the kitchen (I think he did this at 2).
At age 2 when we got the kindle he did lots of puzzle apps and maybe some of the ones with the panda that you just click around the screen. Abc mouse was good at 2 also
