vern yayyyy you made it!! I would give him some stats about risk taking! There are studies that show allowing children how to take small risks (like whether to use a ladder at a playground or the stairs) teaches them the skills to make those decisions in bigger areas. Pitch the argument that you need to teach risk management skills?

CestLaVie, oooh thats good. Can't talk to him tonight, he is being totally unreasonable, he pulled up toys'rus webpage to show me the age restrictions on backyard toys. Everything was 2 and up. He thought he had a real zinger there, it was all i could do to not laugh in his face.

Hi vern! No advice for you on the playground issue, but I like CestLaVie 's suggestion.

booarogue, I love the hair! I dyed my hair purple in my mid-20s and loved it - I had to bleach it twice first to get the color to stick, but it lasted for a long time and wasn't too hard to keep up with (I'm also a bit lazy when it comes to hair and didn't mind showing some roots)

mrspiatt I am praying and thinking of you tonight! FX you get more reassurance soon. I know this must be a total mindf*** layloo so cute! I love seeing pics of N! He's such a cutie with those chunky cheeks booarogue which temporary dye are you using? I've heard some are better than others for darker hair. I am dying to try this when we go to Hawaii in January notelsie I'm so sorry you are having a rough time. FX you get some R&R soon! My parents watched B today so we could go on a date! We went to see Wonder Woman and it was so good. It gave me more motivation for my hot body goals AND now I want to dye my hair black again. Ugh, why can't I have dark hair. Stupid blonde make me look like I have grey hair when my hair is dark and growing out.

Doing a post and pass out! Just got home from the 5k. Times weren't great, but I am not disappointed either. With no training for it, I finished in 49.53. Preparing to be sore tomorrow because this girl doesn't do 🍌!

I need help, Mr Vern has just gone full on BSC helicopter parent. He doesnt want me to take N to playgrounds. cuz they are not safe enough. I am tearing my hair out. He had the audacity to " mean glare" & question my competency for taking him to play stuctures to begin with. sarawalks, please give me some playground data to smack over his head. mamascarlett, I think you look great with black hair. I can see how it would bother you with the light roots though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

vern, all playgrounds have to have safety surfacing to absorb impact when falling. Each piece if equipment requires a fall height that has a tested and approved depth of thickness for the safety surfacing. So no playground is just over concrete so to say. Second play structures are not comparable to what you buy for your backyard at toys r us. All play structures have to meet federal safety guidelines, ASTM, to be exact. And are age appropriate. 0-24 months, 2-5 years and 5-12 years. Most public play areas do both the 2-5 and 5-12. But the 2-5 is friendly enough for our kids ages just below 2. Now into what tuscanlatte said. The benefits of play are extraordinary. Gross motor skills, comprehensive thinking, imagination, thinking outside the box, sharing, etc. We are all shaped by play. So much, that shaped by play is the motto this year for our manufacturer. Tomorrow I will pm you articles. Until then tell him to STFU and get on the playground train.

I fell into the rabbit hole that used to be parenting on TCF. So many new posters, some meanies. And old regs posting that I thought moved over here but say they go nowhere now. So confused.

Why us my cycle so messed up after having J???? For the 6 months I was off birth control before I got pregnant, I would know the exact day I would start. Now, cycles keep getting longer! I should've started 3 days ago.
And yes, I've peed on things. Plus, TBH, I think we only had sex twice this month because we were both sick (oops).

Yup, it's very odd how this new random group like took it over like they've been there all along.. No offense but that comment right there is a huge reason why I rarely posted over there. Because I was afraid someone would think "who is this girl that thinks she goes here" And who cares if they took over? Many people left, what are people suppose to do that don't want to switch boards? Just stop posting all together?

vern not that this helps. It E has fallen on the playground equipment a lot and he's barely been gotten a scratch. He's never fallen to the ground but I suspect that will happen. My thinking was a lot of what RunsforWineandCarbs said about gross motor and imagination play. And for kids like S1 with sensory seeking behaviors it's great because he can get that input there. Everyone was welcomed to post and new posters were always encouraged to come out of lurking.

I think you took the comment out of context jedi. I wasn't commenting like who are these people I was just commenting I didn't recognize most of them and that they were mean. Which they were and rude...I never got that vibe from the old regs that moved over here. I always felt welcomed when I participated, but with the attitude of a few select that are posting there, I wouldn't post.
