I hope it's okay I start this. How is everyone doing! Can you believe it's the New Year!
AFM, we've been BDing like bunnies (I got a positive OPK yesterday), and I have to say, it's been some of the best sex of my life! We're really trying hard this time to keep the fun in our marriage while we are ttc. I hope everyone else is doing well!

Thanks for starting librariangirl! Yay for amazing sex! I'm trying to decide when I want to start Provera. RE said we could start again Jan 18th (1 month after surgery). H will be out of town Jan 30 - Feb 7. If I remember right, I take Provera for 7 days, and I should start bleeding 5-7 days after I stop that. Is that right?? If that's right, then I think I'll start Provera about 2 weeks before H leaves so I can bleed while he's gone. No need to miss out on fun sex!

Thanks librariangirl! I called the RE's nurse, and she said Provera is 10 days and then I should start bleeding a couple days after that. I'll plan to start Provera around Jan 18th-ish then.

I sort of go here. H and I have decided to go ahead with IUI as soon as possible. Since this is the first cycle after my loss we’ll wait for next cycle and then jump in, hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.

orangehibiscus It's hard to predict how soon you'll bleed after stopping Provera (can be 2 days or 2 weeks), but if you've experienced it before it should be similar this time! I hope the timing works perfectly. charliefox I'm sorry for your loss. Welcome and I hope that you are not here long! librariangirl Yay for fun sex!

After a false alarm (low fever CD15), I O'd on CD20, (luckily we still hit every day O-5 to O+1 at least once - thank you winter break for time and energy for sex!) and we're now 9DPO. I'm planning to test on 12DPO, the day before I go back to work. Had a twinge of menstrual-type cramping yesterday morning so I'm kinda hoping it was implantation. But I've been doing well by not allowing myself to think or focus much on TTC.
DH will go in for repeat SA next Thurs if my period comes.
We discussed next plans and are in a good place. If his SA is normal, we'd probably move to IVF after only a couple IUIs (giving us a couple months to save up). I like the idea that we could get frozen embryos from my 33 year old eggs instead of fretting and rushing when TFAS. But if his SA is low or borderline but in the IUI range we maybe would try a few more IUIs to hopefully avoid IVF. Another problem is that they can only get me to have one follie, or 5-10, nothing in between - my previous attempts with IUI with injectibles all had to be cancelled due to overresponse, so that other boost an IUI typically gives wouldn't apply to us.

charliefox I’m so sorry for your loss. Welcome, and I hope you don’t have to stay here too long! sunshiney I’m glad you were able to hit everyday around O! FX it worked! I feel your pain on the multiple follies. I have PCOS, and just on clomid I can get 5-10! Letrozole is the best, and I usually get 2-4 with it. I also overrespond to injectibles. I hope your Hs SA comes back good for you!

Hi charliefox. I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss! Big hugs. I hope your stay here is super short! Thanks sunshiney! I've had Provera several times in the past, and I want to say that I started bleeding 3-4 days after I stopped it, but I can't remember for sure. Woohoo for great timing! FX for you this cycle! I'm glad y'all have a plan, but I hope you won't need it! What meds and doses are you taking that you overstim on?

orangehibiscus on Letrozole I get exactly one follie every time; with bravelle aiming for three follies or fewer I ended up with 5, 8, and 12.

charliefox so sorry for your loss, I hope it's a short stay for you here. sunshiney hoping you don't even have to worry about IUI/IVF! Fingers crossed that this month is it. Did your RE mention adjusting the injectable dosages to maybe help you from over responding? That's hard, I'm sorry. We're not even doing a medicated cycle this month, and I'm CD12 and not even feeling like I want to do OPKs. I'm just tired of constantly monitoring everything, but know I'll probably regret it if I don't by the time CD28 or so shows up. I still might, but am enjoying not worrying about it so far. Does anyone know how often an RE recommends more than 3 cycles of IUI? Obviously we haven't even had our third, but the type A part of me has been looking into what the next step would be. I'm assuming since I'm already on clomid and injectables with a good response, that they would probably recommend IVF at that point, right? I realize I'll just have to wait, but wanted to see what you ladies thought too.

ap21ril unfortunately they couldn't find an injectible side that I didn't over respond so that's not an option for us. As far as the number of IUIs ...I researched this extensively a few years back and the points where success rate drop are a noticeable drop after the first three, a little drop after the fourth, a significant drop again after the fifth, and a precipitous drop off after the sixth so that more than six are really not recommended unless there is a significant change in status or diagnosis.

I have no advice ap21ril on number of IUIs before moving on, but I have everything crossed that you won't need IVF. Did you start doing OPKs? sunshiney That's frustrating that you over respond to the injectibles! AFM...I'm just waiting. I will either start a period in the next 12 days or I will start Provera. I am feeling more like my old self again, both physically after the surgery and emotionally, which is really nice! I'm ready to get started with another treatment cycle, but nervous about what the outcome will be. It's completely out of my control though.

Hi ladies! I finished my femara a couple days ago and start OPKs today. I feel like I am finally recovered from the holidays so that’s good. I have a consult with my RE next week so we’ll see if he wants to change anything or not.
I’ve got my fingers crossed for everyone this month! I’m feeling like 2018 is going to be a good year!

Good luck obscureference w/ your RE appt! charliefox you got this. I'll be thinking of you! orangehibiscus I did start OPKs. Negative so far, but I don't typically O by myself until CD 17 or later. I'm happy for you! I'm sure we'd all feel the same in your shoes regarding outcomes, but please remember we are all here for you to vent to, worry with and/or help you stay positive (whichever you need).

I just want to say how much I HATE the TWW. How is it that we haven’t created some medical technology yet to tell us if we’re pregnant or not without having to wait SO LONG. I’m only 5dpo. 😭😭😭

charliefox You can do this!! librariangirl It is truly not fair. Hope it goes surprisingly fast. Spoiler for a mind-f*cking HPT result... {Spoiler} Had a BFN two days ago at 12DPO (maybe an evap? This batch of Wondfos has messed with me before). AF due today, temp still up - in 7 years of charting I've had exactly one non-medicated cycle with an LP longer than 13 days so I got a little excited (today is 14DPO), but figured if it had been BFN on 12DPO that the numbers probably weren't good regardless.
This Wondfo test said it should be read at exactly 5 minutes, so I did, and there was a clear though impossibly faint pink line. Freaked out a bit, set another 3 minute alarm to see if it darkens a bit, and at that point it was actually lighter if anything - like, I wondered if I was imagining it was there or just seeing a hint of where the line would be or something. DH read it about 10-20 minutes after I dipped it and couldn't see anything, but I still could see pink, thought not all the way across the stick (it was visible more to the right and middle, not really visible on the left). Got really confused but like, whatever. Also tried to re-pee with a FRER but had not a dribble left sadly!
Finally, rechecked after 2 hours, and there was an obvious evap line - the kind that's pink, but way narrower than the actual line should be.
Now I am so confused. I swabbed my cervix with a Qtip and not the tinest hint of any color/spotting, which is unheard of for me within a day or two of a period. No sign of cramps, also unheard of for me.
At one moment, I think, what are the chances I had a false positive-looking HPT and an extra LP day with no spotting/cramps in the same cycle? I must be KU. Then I think, you're crazy, a real BFP wouldn't have disappeared as it evaporated. The I think, it's so dry with the cold weather, it probably just evaporated faster than normal so watching it fade at 10 minutes was like that normal fade that happens to BFPs after an hour or so. Then I think, regardless it showed positive too late and it must not be a healthy pg. Then I think, maybe this batch of tests is just not reading quite properly. All I can do it retest tomorrow morning with the FRER.
Trying to stay calm. Any thoughts? I am totally interested in whether y'all would think it was a real BFP?

sunshiney, that is super confusing. {Spoiler}I would say that a pink line when they tell you to read it is a BFP. Maybe it is that light because it’s early. Retest tomorrow for sure, but I would pee on another the next time you pee! For the record, all of my BFPs never faded to nothing. You can actually still see them even now, 2 1/2 years later. (Yes, I kept them for some reason lol.) librariangirl the TWW is truly horrible. I wish they would invent some way to know immediately, too. Like, I’d rather know I was not pregnant immediately than to have to wait either way!!

charliefox Did you call? I also hate to make initial phone calls but I always feel such a relief when it’s behind me! Hope it went well. Yes. Talked to the nurse this morning and she made a note for my RE. I also went in to check my thyroid this morning so the RE should call back today or tomorrow with those results and to talk to me about our IUI plan. Just learned from my insurance that our IUI needs to be pre-approved too so I'll have my RE submit that too.

Quoting myself, because I spoke to a nurse from my REs office this morning and she said my Thyroid looks great and that they are all ready for us to start IUI. *TW loss mentioned* RE wants us to go straight to Clomid which is odd because before my recent loss our plan was to start with natural IUI and she was fine with that. I'm curious why she changed her mind. I'm also on day 40 of my MC cycle and the nurse said to call back in 2 weeks if I haven't gotten my period. FX I O before then but it not it's nice to have a plan.

charliefox I'm glad everything is rolling again! I'm curious about the plan change too. So we had the genius idea last night of testing DH's pee as well...his reaction when I timidly asked if he'd be willing - "Well it will give your friends online something to laugh about!" After a 5-hour hold, I peed on 2 Wondfos last night - one showed nothing (maybe the slightest indication of an evap line), the other showed a faint shadow of a pink line. DH peed on one, and we found that his stick had a defect - it didn't have the smooth coating/covering over it that the others did, so the color was all blurry on the control line, but there was also definitely something visible as to where the test line would be. Still had no sign of any spotting, but starting slight cramping last night, and temp was down this morning. So basically, both this cycle and the last cycle (when I had some kind of evap line maybe) this bad batch of Wondfos messed with my head and it's really upsetting. Years of using them I never saw anything but stark white when it was a BFN, maybe a white evap line once or twice. Feeling frustrated, but also not so bad because we have a plan in place and we're just going to take it one day at a time. Thanks for listening! And I guess I have a 14 day LP this time around, and I will definitely feel good about that, because the reduced spotting/cramping and longer LP are a welcome change from my cycles a few years ago before treatments!
