I toured a daycare center for E just a little while ago. I almost cried. I hope it was just a bad one.

Lakes, just for perspective, even though your sweet girl has never made it into double digits, she's probably stayed on her own growth curve. SIL should be concerned at her kid dropped from the 50s to the 30s, kwim?

peaseblossom55, is there a reason you're not sticking with your nanny?

So, A turns one on Saturday! Family party with too many people. But we're ordering over-priced BBQ from a local place and it's going to be delicious! And i'm making funfetti cupcakes.

Daycare is far from perfect but it’s so important to find somewhere you can feel comfortable leaving your baby. Good luck!

peaseblossom55, is there a reason you're not sticking with your nanny? The plan is for May to transition. We want to give her more structure to her day have other kids to play with.

I’m so sorry she’s sick and that you had to cancel carrots. Hopefully she’s on the mend soon. Percentile conversation aside, I laughed at “scrumptious little butterball” Lakes. LOL.

I'm in the city for my birthday weekend. I had a giant bowl of delicious spicy ramen for lunch, did the terracotta warrior special exhibit at the museum, some other touristy stuff, and am currently chilling in the hotel before our fancy dinner 🎉🎉
Lakes: did you pack condoms? Mr. Lakes: I packed 3! Lakes: well aren't you ambitious.
Seriously, my plan is to take an ambien and get a full night's sleep.

My baby is one today! Poof! She’s still feeling pretty crummy and has a fever but did eat dinner so hopefully she’s moving past the worst of it. I had planned to stop bottles and switch to milk cold turkey today but have rescheduled to next weekend! Even while under the weather, she is as sweet as can be.

My babe was also 1 on Saturday!
We are going to introduce regular milk, but transition away from bottles after a few weeks (because we are supposed to go on a kidless vacay next week and don't want to put that on the babysitter)

Lakes, A got a little shopping basket full of play food for her birthday. Thankfully, our butter is the kind that comes in a bucket. I laughed when I saw it and was relieved that we wouldn't have to deal with the stress of lost butter pats.

I've been sick since Friday I'm finally feeling on the mend. E has 3 of her 4 molars 11 teeth in 9 more to go. Things I need to get working on getting E better at drinking milk from the sippy cup versus bottle and I need to get working on E using utensils.

We just introduced cow's milk in the past couple of days. I decided to not put it in a bottle at all. She will still get breast milk in a bottle until we fully transition to cow's milk at day care. But regular milk will go in a sippy cup. She is not doing well with the sippy cup just yet (not with milk, not with water. grrr). As for utensils, we'll load up her fork or spoon and then hand it to her to put in her mouth. We just started doing this recently. It's messy and I'd much rather just feed her! But, we're trying to raise independent women, right? ;-)

judyblume14 we’re doing the same as far as bottles/milk and having a similar experience. She has finally figured out that she can drink out of the cups...and promptly spits it back out. Sooooo progress?

Sooooo progress? Ugh, A will get excited, try to guzzle, then let all of the milk fall out of her mouth and down her shirt. So gross.

I went with H to another daycare center this morning. I liked this place much better than the place I saw last week. The outdoor play area was meh. It gives me hope there is a center I will like out there.

B had his 1 yr well visit this morning. He was NOT a fan of the shots. Poor little guy.
He's just shy of 25lbs and 30.75 inches. Dude is getting hefty.
