Not that I had a whole lot of time off from work for the Holidays...but it stinks to be back. No days off in sight until Memorial day...unless I take some vacation time, which I probably will at some point.
So I have a question for any of you that dye your hair. I attempted to dye mine back to it's natural color...or close to it. For some crazy reason it turned out jet black. I was going from blonde to a medium-dark brown color. There is no way it should have turned out this black color. I want to re-dye it to try and get a lighter color. The box says I need to wait 14 days. I know its because the chemicals are damaging to hair. But I am wondering how bad it would really be if I didn't want the 14 days. Has anyone here re-dyed their hair shortly after dying it the first time? If so, what happened?

I've died my hair multiple times in as many days and it's been fine. I have fine oily happy and it doesn't dry out easily so it stays pretty protected from looking damaged. If you already have dry hair it'll probably be a lot worse. That's what happened to my SO's hair when he died his back to back. But, I also don't really know anything, so it may have been a fluke and nothing to do with how oily my hair is.

I do plan on cutting my hair quite a few inches this weekend, so that should take care of the bad damage on the ends that will probably result from dying again. I am torn. I don't want to completely destroy my hair, but I really hate this color on me.

DS is supposed to go back to school tomorrow but we’re under a wind chill warning until tomorrow night. I’m off all week.
So far I’m kicking 2018’s butt. Laundry is all done and I’m cleaning now. My goal is to get my report cards mostly finished tomorrow and to do a lot of masters coursework (I’m online based).

Hey everyone!
I hope you all had a good holiday. Things have been going pretty well here, nothing too exciting going on. I was kind of ready for my son to go back to school today. I've been missing my quiet time the past week. Plus my house looks like it exploded so being alone gives me time to get some stuff done.

If it does have a bad effect on your hair, it will take longer than 14 days to grow out. My hair is fairly dry so I may be a little biased towards erring on the side of caution.

DS was supposed to go back to school today but they closed because I guess it was too cold. UGH DH was gonna have the day off as well & we were going to have a day date & go see star wars in IMAX but he decided to just go in. We'll try again tomorrow. It's supposed to be like 10 degrees warmer so they should have school. I have everything crossed for it. The kid NEEDS school. LOL He's been out since 12/15.

I haven't dyed my hair since college days so I am of no help in that department. Sorry!

Everyone in the Lestrange house is back to work/school.
We are now apparently in a bit of limbo regarding the house we put an offer on over the weekend...so, now we wait.

If you end up needing to lighten it to get it closer to the color you want, I found a bleach that's not the normal blue bleach that doesn't leave my hair dried out at all. It doesn't do a good job of actually bleaching your hair, but if you just need it lightened it works really well. And it doesn't leave your hair dry and feeling like straw. I don't remember what it's called off the top of my head, but if you're interested I can go find it. This is a conversation I had with my five year old a little while ago. He was sounding out words.
D: Fuck. Fff-uh-ck. Me: What? D: Fuck. Fuck. Me (thinking I was misunderstanding him): What do you mean? D: Fuck. Like two people fucking.
Omg. We talked about it and he said he heard it from a kid in his class. Maybe it was OTT but I e-mailed his teacher to give her a heads up in case D repeats in it class, though he should know not to now.

Being at DS' school subbing, I have heard some kids say some crazy things so unfortunately I believe it but when it's your kid hearing it, it just plain old sucks. I hate that for him. :/

I feel bad too because he thought he was in trouble when we were asking him about it. We weren't mad at him, he didn't know what he was saying. I'm guessing the kid he heard it from has no idea what it means either.

We haven't heard that one yet, however, I did have to tell DD not to say "damnit". But I have no one to blame but myself for her learning that word.

I think you handled it well. Hopefully she doesn’t any time soon! His teacher called me this morning and we had a nice conversation. She thanked me for letting her know. While we took it seriously we both did kind of laugh that he learned this word and was trying to apply what he was learning in school (sounding it out to spell).
