I wouldn’t rule it out, Betweenthelines. If you feel bad or weird juju when you visit, then I wouldn’t ultimately go for it, but barring that, it sounds like a potentially great house! Not exactly the same thing, but when I was in college, someone was murdered in her dorm, and I knew people who lived in the suite without incident the next year. And the previous tenant in my best friend’s first post-college apartment suicided there. There were a lot of issues with the apartment, but ghosts weren’t one of them, despite the tragic event.

Betweenthelines I think surveying 100 people, most of the males will say hell no, because deep down they are all big babies. Lol

It definitely caught me off guard at first.. But after thinking about it, its like..... if the house is perfect, I can't rule it out.

Betweenthelines maaaybe for the right house and price. Side note: this situation happened in a house on my parents street. Except it was the whole family including the dog. The father also took his life. The kicker is this was a person I played with as a kid. His parents lived in the house before him and we’d run around the neighborhood together. The house did sell and that was when the market was bad

Betweenthelines I guess the only other thing I would be considering is what might it mean for resale? Like if something happens and you want to resell, would that be something that needs to be considered? Apparently unless you want to sell it here to someone on A15 and apparently we are all cool with it! Lol

jedi, I would draw the line at living in a house where a child was murdered. I don’t know if that makes any sense, but even if the house wasn’t actually haunted, I would be thinking about it.

RunsforWineandCarbs, my office is now 42 degrees (with the aid of a space heater) so I guess it’s warmer?

AND i side eyed the news super hard when I heard they were closing schools because it's "too cold" up in the panhandle. I was like is there a snow storm? My h was like it's just cold. My exact response was, haven't they heard of dressing in layers and this thing called heat? Too cold = 30°. Am I being insensitive? I mean do you northerners close schools at 30°? It is currently 7° here and schools are open.

My other co-worker and friend outside of work was "girl, get yourself some sage and clear the energy, then move in" Absolutely. Would do.

I would feel weird about it but I guess it also depends on the details. Like, a classmate of mine in hs killed his whole family in their house and I think of it every time I go by. Without personal ties, would I care? Maybe not.

Betweenthelines If I liked the house I would 100% buy it. But I don't believe in ghosts our any kind of bad things that would linger. I'm generally a big cynic. RunsforWineandCarbs schools in my area will close sometimes for brekkie freezing weather. Generally not 30. But many families don't have the right clothes so it would be dangerous for kids to be at the bus stop, and the schools often don't have heating systems that can hear the buildings to the proper level. Especially schools that have trailers for some of the classes, those things are hard to heat. So not a side eye from me. But I think it's normally when weather is 20s or below for us. jedi I hope you have a good appointment and good dialogue with the doctor.

At the doctor. I had a persistent cough start Monday night and my chest started hurting today. So I figured better get it checked out.
I like the scale here better because it was 2lb lighter than my OB's yesterday 😂

B is sick again today. He threw up his breakfast and I am strongly considering that this winter just needs to be burned down. Every one I talk to has had sick kids forever.

Betweenthelines having seen the details - I’d still consider it. It somehow seems “less scary” because it was a domestic form of violence instead of a random act (someone randomly selected the house to break into and commit murder etc). This difference would make it seem more safe for me to live there and I’d consider it. A randomly selected house, breaking in, and murder. Hell no. ETA: apparently I’m repeating RunsforWineandCarbs (oops) and makes a distinct between violence related to the house itself vs. the people in it.
