Do you rotate your toys?
If so, how do you do this? Are there certain toys that stay out always?
If so, how often do you rotate?
After purging today, I want to start rotating toys. Particularly for Ethan who seems to get excited about new or “new” toys.

We rotate toys but I generally do a pretty poor job of it. Ideally I would rotate them every few days but realistically it happens every few weeks at best. I just gather up the stuff they haven't been playing with as much and bring it down to the basement to swap out with other stuff that's been down there for a while. The dress up bin is pretty much always out because it gets daily use. Same thing with new Hanukkah presents. I have a rule that we either have the magnatiles out or the legos, but not both at the same time because there are too many pieces. I should probably put more toys down in the basement but inevitably they ask for them and the toys end up back in my living room.

Not really. We have a ton of toys, but they really do play with them all. We have different things in different rooms though. Right now they're into their duplos, dress up clothes, and dollhouse so those are in the living room. Play kitchen, cars/road mat, and work bench are in the family room. Little people, superheros/fairies/baby dolls, instruments, and a book of random things are in a bedroom. Way too many toys.

I had every intention of rotating toys, but don't really. I have put a ton of stuff away when we were listing the house for sale, and M plays with way more things now that he is not too overwhelmed by the choices. I'm hoping to do a better job of this when we move (but probably won't! Lol)

Anything with pieces (puzzles, board games) are locked in a closet. The only toys that are out in the living room (usually) are trains, cars, and blocks. I purged everything else.
