If you did a reading challenge this year, which one?
Are you going to meet your goal?
Favorite book?
Least favorite?
Any recommendations for others?
Are you doing a challenge in 2018? Same one? Different one?

My 2017 book challenge was to read some different types of books and my goal was 50.
I believe I'm at 53 right now and set to finish one probably today so I may end up at 54 or 55.
I picked up a couple books I wouldn't have normally due to the book club here but I could have done better.
For 2018 I think I'll set my goal at 60. I'm looking at the pop sugar challenge too.

My challenge for 2018 is just to read more. Maybe a book a month is good to start? I've been really lagging on my reading recently.

That sounds fun. I think I'll try this in 2018. For 2017, my goal was just to read 50. Then I passed that in July and wanted to get to 100... I'm at 89

I think I'm going to try this one as well. I tend to stick with what I know and would like to branch out some and read some new things. This list looks good. That's my hope to starting this

I want to do this one! I usually stick with Nora Roberts/jd robb books so this is a great way to expand. I didn’t hit my challenge this year bc I reread a lot of books but I saw that goodreads has added a “reread” option to start including those. I’m also trying to start a book club with some of my friends.

So, I set a goal of 40 books for the year on goodreads, but I also tried to do the popsugar one (which was also 40 books). I’ve read 42 books so far, but won’t be able to complete the poosugar one. (I hope that makes sense). My favourite book of the year was either Beartown or The Hate U Give. Least favourite...The alchemist or The glass castle. I plan on trying the popsugar one again, and I’ll probably set a goal of 40 books again.

My goal this year was 20 books. I had enough disappointment in life lol. I didn’t need to disappoint myself.
I exceeded my goal! I’m hoping to finish my current book before the end of the week and it will put me at 33 books.
I loved Exit West and This is How it Always Is. oh and Americanah and Ready Player One.
I attempted One Hundred Years of Solitude and trudged more than halfway through before I quit. It was just so awful and uncomfortable.
All of my favorites I would recommend. Also, Future Home of the Living God. The ending kind of took it out of “great” status for me, but I really enjoyed the book until then.
I think I’ll set a goal of 30 books next year. And hope to exceed it.

My Goal was 52 and I've read 84. I'll probably finish 1 more before the new year as I'm on a beach vacation right now Faves: Exit West, The Heart's Invisible Furies, All Grown Up, We Are Okay, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine Dislikes: Perennials; Small Admissions, The Bookshop on The corner. Also book that had a lot of hype but I just didn't dig (at all): Swing Time I'm going to do the plain ol # of books goodreads challenge and do 52 books again.

I had planned to read 30 books in 2017. I was all set to meet my goal but life got in the way and I haven’t read during the last two months. Hoping to surpass 30 books in 2018!

I set a goal for 52 books in 2017 but only hit 40. I had a baby in October so that slowed things down and I only read books with light and easy topics since I don’t do well with heavy serious stuff while pregnant.
I think I may tackle that Popsugar challenge, it looks easy enough for me to tackle.
Fav book of 2017: I read most of the Kate Daniels series and enjoyed those.
Least: Tie between two new adult books, Paper Princess and Addicted to You. They were bad in so many ways.
Recommendation: The Rachel Peng series by KB Spangler. It reminds me of the In Death series by JD Robb but better character development and more politics.

I planned 23 books from this list. Anyone doing this challenge have a recommendation for me? I'm not doing the challenge but I've looked through it. I recommend Lust for Life by Irving Stone for a book about a famous person. It's about Vincent van Gogh and I couldn't put it down when I read it. I also recommend Mill on the Floss by George Eliot for a book by a female author with a male pen name.

August Blooms and mintyblueair I have ones planned for Nordic noir (the girl with the dragon tattoo), real person (interpretations of murder) and male psuedonymn (The Cuckoos Calling). But one of the categories is recommendation from someone else completing the challenge, so any book would do? I do need a book set in a country you're interested in though so I could use the other Nordic Noir recs for that.

angelashly cornpop Aside from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series I would recommend: Arnaldur Indridason’s Inspector Erlendur’s series takes place in Iceland. I’ve read the first few books they are good but a bit dreary. Kjell Eriksson writes a series with a female protagonist, I’ve read The Princess of Burundi, Cruel Stars of the Night and the Demon of Dakar. They are all good and not as dreary as the other I mentioned. I would probably recommend this series if your not crazy about the genre.

I did just a numbers on Goodreads for 2017. I planned on 52 and ended up with 89! (It may be 90 if I can finish Dimple met Rishi tonight).
I'm going to try and do the popsugar one this year but set my total books at 100.

My goal was 20 books, and I’m not hitting it. 19. :/ I was derailed by some long books!
I’m going to keep the same goal for 2018.

I've been doing the PopSugar challenge for the past few years. I've never actually completed it, though. I have my list made for the 2018 challenge.
My goal in 2017 was to read 50 books, I read 32. I set my goal at 50 again for 2018.
Least Favorite: From Here to Eternity by James Jones. I started it at the end of January and finished at the beginning of December. It was not worth the time.
Favorite: I'm Judging You by Luvvie Ajayi

I'm setting myself a very, very low goal this year. I used to read close to 100 books a year, but last year I read like... 5. Woof. So I'm setting a goal of 30 and we'll see.
My list of books to read is all sci-fi and urban fantasy, mainly from 2017. I'm pretty excited about it!
