Oh, and I ghosted the wedding (left without saying big goodbyes to the bride/groom and groom's parents)

Oh, and I ghosted the wedding (left without saying big goodbyes to the bride/groom and groom's parents) I think that's called an Irish Goodbye. I'll probably get flamed for that ^^ but I'm Irish, and I'm not offended by this one bit. I confess that I was very much "I told you so" towards my in-laws when they refused to put the baby (1yr old) to bed on time, and she consequently acted like a little turd for them. No sympathy from me.

I attended a wedding and haven't bought a gift yet. I'm pretty sure you have a year to give a wedding gift.

Oh, and I ghosted the wedding (left without saying big goodbyes to the bride/groom and groom's parents) This is the best way to leave a wedding, IMO.

So basically, I support your decisions, OR.

I attended a wedding and haven't bought a gift yet. I'm pretty sure you have a year to give a wedding gift. I do know that this is the norm. However, I certainly hope I get my act together before 363 days pass.

I, too, think that's sometimes the best way to leave. Otherwise, you'll be stuck in the never ending goodbyes. Edited because I temporarily forgot how to gif

I ghost large events frequently. Often. Pretty much anytime I'm at one.

Honestly I feel like that's for the best. This day is about the bride and groom. Not you. And they are entirely too busy to worry about who has and hasn't said goodbye. I say ghost away.

I didn't speak to MIL or FIL at all at our niece's birthday party today. Like, I didn't even go into the room they were in.

As far as leaving without saying bye to the bride and groom, KOKO. I barely said bye to anyone at my wedding because we were having too much fun on the dance floor.

I guess it was more of a confession, because everyone else at the wedding seemed to prioritize interrupting the bride and groom to say goodbye, even though 90% of them were going to see them the next morning at brunch!
I love ghosting. It isn't like I think it is bad, just the opposite. I just think it's long been socially unacceptable, or not talked about.
