I got A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler.
I've never heard of it but my aunt who gave it to me said it was really good
I gave Lone Wolf by Jodi picoult to one aunt, the rumor by Elin Hilderbrand to another one, and Those Girls by Chevy Stevens to the other aunt.

Got my husband The Art of The Last Jedi, which is a gorgeous and really interesting book of all the concept art for the new movie. If you're into Star Wars, I highly recommend.

My husband gave me Artemis, the new book by Andy Weir (author of The Martian). I can't wait to read it, but I have two others I have to finish first because if he wrote as he did in the first book, I won't want to put it down.

I told my husband I wanted the illustrated HP books and he said he's waiting to buy them all as a box set at the end because it will be a better deal. I laughed and laughed, but go on with yourself, dude

It'll be like 4 years until all 7 are out, and who knows how long until they release a box set. I know I couldn't wait that long.

I got Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami (already started and love it), I Found You by Lisa Jewell, and A Column of Fire by Ken Follett. My husband got The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson (I think Dramaphile recommended it--so thanks!), the first Game of Thrones book, and the History of Bees by Maja Lunde. I got my mom The Wonder by Emma Donoghue. I'd like to read this one when she's done with it.

mintyblueair thanks for reminding me I need a column of fire. Been trying to decide what to spend my kindle dollars on and forgot about that. mintyblueair I have had the last 50-100 pages of A Column if Fire waiting for me to finish for weeeeeeks. I usually love his books but this one was almost a miss for me - good but I put it down for just a little bit too long and never cared enough to go back. LMK what y’all think about it!

I hate when a book loses my interest like that... But I, too, liked his earlier books so I'm hoping I like this one! Will let you know.

Amazing 2017 has been a dumpster fire within my family (the loss of two grandpas within two months and both suddenly, my cousin's super unexpected death last week being investigated as homicide, my brother's deployment, etc). We decided that 2018 needed positivity and what's more positive than TMNT telling us about pizza?
