Eek.
I'm getting sick again, less than two weeks after battling the cold from hell. Dude and X are not in great shape, and tonight I noticed Dude has HFM plus his cold (or flu)?
My mom is sick too so she can't watch them tomorrow as planned. Pete and I will just be WAH and watching both kids tear the house apart, I guess.

Dude ran over X in his little Power Wheel type car. X was fine but Dude was in hysterics. He felt so awful. We kept telling him to hit the brakes but he panicked.
Poor guy is so hard on himself when he makes a mistake. He's such a perfectionist and I don't know how to teach him to let things go. We keep emphasizing that when you have an accident or do something the wrong way, just think about how you'll do it differently next time then don't worry about it anymore. He's doing good about calming himself down after a couple minutes but then I can tell he's really in his own head and being hypercritical even though we're never like that with him.

No but H has more crap coming out of his ear. It’s a yellowing greenish color and it’s thick snot. I’m calling the ENT tomorrow, although I doubt he’s there. I’m wondering if they need to suction this shit out or something. Maybe that’s why he had the fever.

Y’all, my nephew had his 4th treatment today and they still haven’t seen any improvement. He’ll be staying for at least 2 more treatments, but I can’t help but worry that he’s not going to get better. I obviously would never tell my sister that, but damn. I feel terrible for them.

Today was the longest day in the history of the world (not really). I was so glad for 10:00 to hit and I hightailed it out of there. I came home to a mess in my house, no thanks to DH so after I showered I picked up the living room. I’m torn between wanting the tree to stay up forever and wanting to put it away so I can get my living room back in order (and finding a place for all this stuff).

Loved The Greatest Showman once I got past the fact that it wasn't a serious biopic as I thought. I know, I know. I need to watch trailers.

What symptoms did you have with your cold? I can't shake whatever crap I have and it's been over a week of feeling miserable. Hacking cough, incredibly painful sore throat, headaches. No medicine touches it.

I had the same, the sickness returning after two weeks it sucks, especially when pregnant/nursing and not being able to take the good stuff. Hope you & the boys feel better soon tgrimes I’m sorry about your nephew. I hope they can reassess and come up with a treatment plan that does work.

The problem would be getting him into another pediatric neurologist. The quickest way is obviously to be at a hospital that has one on staff. Since the MRI confirmed the diagnosis and he couldn’t tolerate the first treatments, I’m not sure what else is out there. There’s not a whole lot of information online about this either.

Hacking cough, incredibly painful sore throat, headaches. No medicine touches it. Two weeks ago, I thought it was flu but they tested for that and I was negative. So just a bad cold, I guess. Headaches, itchy nose and throat, feeling like I was drowning in mucus, chills, etc. I felt okay for a few days last week and thought I was over it but maybe it's just the same thing that's really got a hold of me. And I guess it's possible my infusion kind of helped there for a bit but ultimately wasn't enough. At this point, I'm fairly certain it's a sinus infection. I have major pressure in my sinuses and ears.

peachsmama You just described what my family was like when I was growing up. Mine to, to a point. But seeing it now, as a parent, I just feel differently. I watched the baby's face as his dad was helping him open a gift and everytime he would raise his hand the baby would wince.

tgrimes, has the neurologist said that it can be tricky to find the right treatment or is he just a really hard and unusual case? How incredibly frustrating.

tgrimes, has the neurologist said that it can be tricky to find the right treatment or is he just a really hard and unusual case? How incredibly frustrating. There’s only 2 treatments. The first one they tried was the easiest and he had a reaction to it. That’s why they placed the central line and started this other treatment. I talked to my sister a bit ago. The plan right now is for at least 2 more treatments. If he can sort of walk with help, he can go home. But he’ll need someone with him 24 hrs/day. She said it could be months before he recovers from this, if he does.

tgrimes I hope your nephew starts improving soon. Could your sister maybe send his medical records to another specialist for a second opinion over the phone?
