ladystrat congrats!!! How did the kids respond?! We haven't told them yet. We usually wait until the second trimester before going public.

Hi girls! Had a family breakfast just the four of us this morning. Since Sinterklaas is really big here, we don’t really do gifts for Christmas, but I bought two personalised wooden toolboxes for the kids in Sweden that we put under the tree, with Emil/Ida doll, a small wooden bear, a bauble filled with sweets and an activity book. We went to my parents for presents and drinks in the afternoon and had my sister and her boyfriend (the ones from Norway) over for a nice quiet dinner. Tomorrow is d-day, dinner for 18 😱. Hope all your days were great!

I put my roast in too early. It's already done. Oops. I really want to cut some and eat it.
I've been home most of the day by myself. Mh took Cadence to his sister's for lunch. I assume they will be back soon, but who knows. I've done laundry, washed dishes, mopped, and cleaned out Cadence's linen closet, and her cup cabinet. Why do we have so many cups for such a small person?!?

I love love love Christmas with my family! But poor Sierra...it is just sensory overload for her. She’s a mess today. Too much chaos for her in the large group settings and all the kids in her face wanting to play.

Too much chaos for her in the large group settings and all the kids in her face wanting to play. I hope she gets some downtime soon. Let her sit with the weighted blanket on her lap, that might help calm her.

You guys are a quiet bunch today. I’m so bored at work, it’s a ghost town. I haven’t had any patients at all. There’s busy work to do but I don’t wanna. Only 4 more hours!

Well Christmas with A's extended family went badly. He got pissed at his dad, cousin and aunt and made us leave 3 hours early.. I'm sure I'll be blamed but it was bad. His dad stood up and yelled in Jackson's face and had pointed his finger at him. That was the last straw for A and he grabbed our stuff and M and told me to get J and go to the car..

C was so great today. This morning he opened gifts nicely, played by himself, and snuggled up to watch a movie with me. And he was pretty good at my parents too. Only a bit rough towards the end of the night but after two plus days of sensory overload and no naps, it's to be expected.
I'm so happy I took tomorrow off. Every year I regret being one of the only people back at work the day after Christmas but this year I said nope, not doing it but Dh and C have work and school so I get to relax after all the chaos. I rushed around tonight and did laundry, dishes, and tidying so I can chill tomorrow. The only thing I need to do is pick up meds for Max.

Meh. He's not pooping much but still eating and not vomiting yet. Fact is though, if he doesn't start pooping then he going to get really sick and that's it. He's on fluids every other day subcutaneously and prescription strength laxative and I'm pushing wet food and any human food that I think will help him go. The other issue is he's on a lot of pills that he's always taken well. The past few days though he is running away and spitting them out. Tonight he cheeked a pill for two hours before spitting it out! I almost feel like he's trying to tell me something but then he comes over and snuggles/purrs and I just don't know. ETA: and this sounds awful but we leave for Disney 1/13 and my mom is coming to pill him twice a day. I'm worried he will make it too hard for her and also they something will happen when we are gone. So part of me would like whatever to happen to happen prior but obviously I don't want to act too soon. This sucks.

peachsmama sorry for the drama. At least A stuck up for J. My feelings exactly. His aunt threw a fit about M eating. He was standing at a wooden end table on hardwood floors but was 3 feet from apparently a very nice chair..? She was convinced he was going to get food on it and wanted him to eat on the rug. I can wipe up a wood floor/table easier than carpet! It was bizarre. She was frantic trying to get him more than the 3 feet he already was away from it. That was 10 minutes after we got there and it just kept getting worse.

wedding damn, I'm sorry. I was in the same boat with Tatum. We were leaving in a few days and she went downhill fast. I had her put down, but I often wonder if I acted too hastily.

The whole evening was just so frustrating. My kids are not well behaved in those over whelming situations. But tonight they were and it still wasn't good enough for my FIL. That family expects kids to be seen and not heard and that's just not reasonable. Maybe for his cousin who snacks his 10 month old in the mouth for screaming.. or the other one that spanks her 2 year old for taking a toy. But I'm not willing to treat my kids like that to avoid embarrassment of them acting out. And thankfully, A is with me on that. He says we're not going next year but I imagine he'll change his mind.

Yikes peachsmama. I was horrified that someone would yell and stick a finger in M or J's face at their age, but hit a 10 month old?! It's good that A is sticking up now because who knows how far they'd push it in another year or two. No thanks.

The afternoon and evening at my BIL's was a blast. Thank you to N13, my neice loved her gifts. She was very condescending to Col at first - not that he notices - but they were running around later together while Chase followed, screaming and laughing. They were all hyper and nuts, and having fun together. She's the boys' only first cousin so it was nice to see. The house is a mess and I'm bummed to go back to work tomorrow. It's too crazy right now to have taken an extended weekend but we need an extra day home for the kids to play without having to be anywhere. wedding has it right and I'll bend over backwards next year to do the same. ETA: Colin almost peed himself over the Jeep my in-laws got them. He is so clueless about driving and was too excited to take direction well. It's going to be a project!

Matthew ate 4 bites of Mac and cheese. Jack at 1 and a small piece of chocolate. Ryland ate one roll and then grudgingly and complaining at like two bites of everything else over the next TWO hours. Lucas will eat because he wants dessert, but he will just swallow it whole if he doesn’t like the taste... so he spends most of the meal with me thinking he’s choking as he gags down his food instead of chewing. Landon finally eats Great so I hope there is hope for the other two!!

we had a great lazy day. Literally we didn’t get out of pajamas. The kids played with all their new toys and I alternated between lazing on the couch trying to clean up. I hate the day after Christmas when you feel like your house will never be clean again! But I got a lot picked up and organized today and now I’m itching to start taking down decorations. Honestly Christmas Day and the day after are always bittersweet to me. I love Christmas and the whole season, I put up decorations as early as possible and I love all the Prep and celebrating, but then when it’s over I feel a little deflated. I think I’m also feeling anxious to get things packed up and put away because if I go into labor I do not trust dh to do it for me!!

It's good that A is sticking up now because who knows how far they'd push it in another year or two. No thanks. I noticed it the first time when he was 6 months old and he tried to take food off his mom's plate. She smacked his hand. I've seen it alot more since then. After we've been with them the boys regurally ask "you're not going to hit me are you?" I go between pissed as hell and heart broken for him.

Merry Christmas ladies! Hope you had good days.. I have been a bit of a tired hot mess, but damn if j wasn't so darn cute and happy today. He was so excited about his doll ice cream truck and yelled up the chimney to say thank you to santa (I'll admit, it's pretty cool). He also asked where the dolls we're to go with, so now my old Kirsten American Doll is dusted off. He also said he didn't want Christmas to end💔. Better get to bed since my kids did not sleep last night and I'm a zombie.

Today was pretty low key playing with toys around the house. Then we went to buffet for dinner. I was glad to get fresh veggies, fruit, stir-fry and sushi mixed with ask the bad food of the holidays. Tomorrow we had to MIL (2.5hr drive) as soon as E wakes up. We'll do xmas with cousins. Then Santa will surprise us with our trip to Chicago and we'll head the rest of that 3hr drive at nap time. It's supposed to snow a bit in the morning so I hope conditions aren't too bad.
