For the purposes of this check-in, we will define extended breastfeeding as breastfeeding beyond 1 year. Questions are repeated and suggestions are appreciated! 1. How old is your LO? 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 3. Which benefit of extended BFing is most important/relevant to you right now? 4. What is your LO's most annoying nursing-related habit/quirk (nipple twiddling, skin pinching, hair pulling, etc.)? Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? Tandem Nursing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any current challenges? Questions for other moms? Non-BFing question of the week: Would you rather never be stuck in traffic again or never get another cold? I will probably skip next week's check-in because of the holidays.

1. How old is your LO? 2 2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 1-2 3. Which benefit of extended BFing is most important/relevant to you right now? Just comfort for him. I don't think he's getting much in the way of actual milk right now. 4. What is your LO's most annoying nursing-related habit/quirk (nipple twiddling, skin pinching, hair pulling, etc.)? Nothing, really-- most of his nursing sessions now are super-short.
Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? Nipple sensitivity, no aversion, not much in the way of supply. Just letting DS2 decide when he's done. He seems to be spending less and less time nursing.
Non-BFing question of the week: Would you rather never be stuck in traffic again or never get another cold? Definitely never be stuck in traffic again- that would save me sooooo much time and aggravation every week!

1. How old is your LO? - 2.75 year
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? - 0-1
3. Which benefit of extended BFing is most important/relevant to you right now? - honoring my son’s timeline
4. What is your LO's most annoying nursing-related habit/quirk (nipple twiddling, skin pinching, hair pulling, etc.)? - none
Pregnant & BFing Moms: How are you doing this week? Any issues with supply, pain, aversion? Questions for other moms? - supply is gone. No pain or aversion. I miss bedtime at least half the week due to N/V so lots of missed nursing opportunities.
This may be my last check in. DS got an ear infection and hasn’t even asked to nurse in 3 days.
Non-BFing question of the week: Would you rather never be stuck in traffic again or never get another cold? - never get another cold! Though honestly if I had to pick one parent to never get another cold it’d be my husband haha.

1. 2
2. 4-5
3. I like the comfort and security it provides her. It’s something she can count on when life gets a little overwhelming for a toddler.
4. She tries to talk at least once a nursing session. My nipple ends up getting pinched in the the talking teeth.
Tandem: Things are good. DD2 is going for a tongue tie and, most likely, release on Tuesday. I’m nervous but I feel like this is the right move.
Non-BFing Question: Never get another cold. I hate having a sore throat.

It’s time for me to bid you adieu.
After 3.5 years of nursing, first the little guy, then BFing while PG, then tandem, the kids have weaned.
The (now) big guy still asks on occasion but is content to snuggle instead.
I’m proud of our journey and feel peace with the end. ❤️

1. How old is your LO? 15 months
2. How many times per day does your LO nurse? 5-6 but sometimes it feels like it is a lot more than that with the constant nursing.
3. Which benefit of extended BFing is most important/relevant to you right now? Comfort and nutrition especially with food allergies + that it will (or may?) help him outgrow his allergies.
4. What is your LO's most annoying nursing-related habit/quirk (nipple twiddling, skin pinching, hair pulling, etc.)? Pinching.
Non-BFing question of the week: Would you rather never be stuck in traffic again or never get another cold? Never get another cold.
