Hi! Haven’t been here in awhile (but I’ll be back soon). We weaned3-4 months ago right at 18 months. I was around 12 wks pregnant and my milk was drying up anyway, and we were both just ready to be done. We had a pretty easy time, LO only ever even asked to nurse twice after we were done, and took it really well, etc. She still likes to be in my shirt, like hands and such when she is in a cuddly mood and that never changed but lately she is getting really aggressive. She got my nipple out yesterday and actually tried to latch on, I was super caught off guard and had no idea what to say... I was like your a big girl now, the milk is all gone. She was actually upset, then this morning she tried again and bit my shirt when I wouldn’t let her take my boobs out. In general as I’ve gotten bigger she has gotten more cuddly (I’m 26 weeks pregnant now). Not sure if it’s related, she is 21 months so not really sure she comprehends getting a sibling, but we talk about the baby in my belly, etc.
Anyway, anyone have any experience with this? Or any tips for what to say to LO if it happens again, which seems likely?

i pushed DS1 to wean at 4 (!), and for at least 6 months afterwards he would occasionally try to pop on my boob when I wasn't looking, and then laugh about it. he also did some kind of comfort-fondling of my boobs. i think it's pretty normal. i objected when he tried to latch on and told him he was a big boy now but i didn't make too big of a deal out of it.
i would continue with the "you're a big girl," give lots of hugs, maybe offer her something else delicious to drink- warm milk with honey or whatever. maybe all the talk of a new baby is making her feel like she needs some extra reassurance.
