leatherpants sorry for the rough night...i hope you’re feeling better mattsgirl2004 glad your car made it that doesn’t sound like fun. i wouldn’t beat yourself up about the weight thing...the holidays will probably help out with that😉 just catching up. all this talk of getting clothes out of storage and organized is freaking me out. ovia tells me i have 79 days left before my due date. i don’t believe it. i just need to get through the next week and then i’m going to make baby’s room, etc top priority. i took my car in for service yesterday and of course ended up needing new brake pads. i knew it was coming, but merry christmas to me😑. also coming down with h’s cold and dd has been possessed the last few days. i thought we were already in the terrible 2s, lol no. enjoying my coffee in front of the tree. need to pick up 2 more gift cards, make my irish cream, and wrap gifts either tonight or tomorrow night and then i am done!

polson. Thanks! Yeah, I left thinking "if she wants me to gain weight, I can gain weight." I went straight to Burger King and had me a Whopper with bacon and cheese and DH brought home a pie. Lol. I still plan on eating healthy, but I had zero guilt splurging yesterday. Our truck is fixable, but bad. Thankfully DH can take care of it. He bought $500 worth of parts and had them overnighted here. He's pretty much rebuilding the whole front axel area (new CV axels, wheel bearings, brakes, rotars, etc). 😐 DD1 woke up just after midnight last night puking and hasn't stopped. Poor thing.

So we’re visiting the ILs and I fell down the stairs this morning. I just slid on my bit and it’s super sore but I think I’m fine otherwise. Should I do anything? I guess I could call my MW but we’re 4 hours away.

smilesp, I agree with the advice polson gave. mattsgirl2004, I hope your DD feels better soon. polson, I hate having car issues at this time of year. I had to replace the battery in my car a couple weeks ago, which, of course was not how was planning on spending that 100 dollars. We had a rough night at my house. DS has a cold and was up crying a couple times in the middle of the night probably because he couldn't breathe through his nose. It took at least a 1/2 hour to get him settled again after each wake up. After DS's first wake up I felt miserable and vomited. My neighbors are watching DS today, I was hesitant to take him there but they said he probably caught the cold from them so they were fine with him being at their house. We will see if DS makes it to his rescheduled daycare Christmas program tonight. Then my mom called me this morning and told me my dad is back in the hospital. They don't think it is anything with his heart based on the EKG(?), they think he has fluid on his lungs. So, I am going to be anxious about my dad all day.

smilesp I think you can probably use your discretion and contact your doctor if you have any cramping, bleeding, leaking, less baby movement, etc. Hopefully all is okay with you and baby. I'm sorry for the fall. 😕

I guess I could call my MW but we’re 4 hours away. Just watch for regular movement and call if you have any cramping or bleeding. Take some Tylenol now bc you’re going to be extra sore tomorrow. I ended up calling my OB two days after I fell bc I was cramping painfully (but it stopped after eating and movement pickup once I had a cool coke and actually sat down). She said that cramps can be normal a few days later bc your muscles are sore and very very tight. Ice and stretch what you can!!

I'm sorry your dad is back in the hospital. Hopefully his recovery is swift and he doesn't go back again for a long, long time.

If gravity could stop asserting its force on MA18 for a few weeks, that'd be great. Sorry for all the falls recently! I've had a couple of close calls myself and a mysterious bruise on my hip/thigh area that is probably from me banging into some hard surface.

My kid and I both melted down at my MIL's when I was trying to drop her off for the afternoon so I could wrap presents. She refused to go in the house and it was a battle royale. I'm finally home and tired and now I have to wrap fucking presents.

Hugs ArielMermaid! Bad drop offs are the worst. I think next year I may host a Christmas present wrapping party for some girlfriends. Like I’ll provide snacks and tape and everyone can bring their stuff over with a bottle of wine. I can kick DD and DH and set up card tables to help offer extra surfaces. I can’t decide if that would be fun or be too much work to coordinate LOL.

A dear friend of mine moved from here to Florida about a year and half ago. She's currently pg, 5 days behind me, also with a baby boy. Anyhow, I miss her and wish we lived close again. She knew these past few days have been a bit chaotic and surprised me with these beautiful flowers today (Well, not her personally. She had them sent to me). I'm so touched and admittedly a tad emotional. Just means a lot to me. True friendships are hard to find.

woodenshoes I hope you've heard back some reassuring news about your dad. I'm sorry he's back in the hospital, I hope he's on the mend very soon. ArielMermaid Meltdowns at dropoff are so hard, I'm sorry. I hope you got the chance to breathe a little before diving into present-wrapping. mattsgirl2004 That's so sweet! Good friendships are hard to find, and I hope that in spite of the physical distance, the two of you can keep connecting especially once your little ones arrive. You'll always need someone to text and commiserate with at 2am feedings! Leaf 🌱 I would totally be on board for a wrapping party. The kicker would be having all my shopping done in time, ha!

I'm pulling out clothes to pack for our trip, and I've already planned to wear an outfit that makes me look as pregnant as possible for our flights tomorrow. Anything I can do to garner sympathy and patience from my fellow travelers. Pre-kids, it was way too easy to be the person that rolled their eyes and griped in my head when I saw toddlers getting on the same plane as me. I wish I could go back and smack pre-kid me upside the head and tell myself that the parents are 1000% more stressed about the situation than I ever could have been.
I hate flying with a toddler. And I'm in a state of willful ignorance about traveling with two small children next year.

I'm annoyed at the room mom for DS's class. She collected money from everyone for the teacher gift, saying it would be spent on gift cards (which I was A-OK with) but then we got an email today with pics of the gifts she bought and its like a shitty tote bag, a cheap scarf, ugly gloves and a small gift card to a mediocre local restaurant. WTF. The teacher doesn't want that crap. I want my $20 back. The thing is, DS's teacher is amazing. I'm thinking about picking up a $50 Amazon GC on my way home from work today and sending it in to school tomorrow.

calendula i’d be annoyed too. i was just talking to my aunt about gift cards. i have been feeling bad about pretty much just getting those for gifts this year, but after moving and still going through the purging process i am done with a bunch of meaningless crap in my life. i feel like that makes me sound ungrateful or something, but i’m sure that teacher gets enough stuff that she doesn’t know what to do with. sorry for the ramble

Every teacher I know dreads the tsunami of mugs, candles, and lotions that comes around the holidays and teacher appreciation weeks. Its just....stuff. I'm ALL ABOARD the edible treat + cash train. Lord only knows teachers spend so much of their own money on supplies. The least we can do is give her a gift card to spend how she likes.

Hey, do you guys want to hear the gross thing that happened last night? I shared this in the GD drinking thread but I'm still traumatized.
So, I moved my stove out to self clean it last night. A little while later I walked into the kitchen again and kicked what I thought was a rock (from the dogs). So I picked it up and its a mother fucking tooth. I assumed it was my old dog's but after rooting around in his slobbery mouth, I'm pretty sure its not. To my horror - and all my friends and family I sent pictures too - I'm pretty sure its a human tooth. That was under the stove and came loose when I moved it. I also HAD PICKED IT UP WITH MY BARE HANDS when I thought it was a rock and then when I thought it was a dog tooth. I would like to die.

Plus one to the the gc train. I’d probably email the room parent privately and express your disappointment that plans changed without notice. I am willing my motivation to continue, but it’s waning fast. I’ve washed all the bedding, folded two baskets of laundry and done dishes. Littles are sleeping and an extra bed is being picked up in two hours. One more bed to remake, 4 baskets of laundry to fold and 2 bathrooms to clean....I need a Christmas elf to come help me.

The last two days have been a mess. Actually, 2017 as a whole has been a mess and I'd greatly appreciate it if the universe would stop shitting on us.
