I managed to string it out to last just over a week and finished yesterday.
I was surprised by uncle David's relationship with Hitler. I wonder if all that about him making a deal to be reinstated as king is true.
I felt really bad for young Philip with his crappy dad, sick mum, and dead sister's whole family. That was really sad.
I also feel really badly for young Charles and Anne. Charles goes away for however many months and his other doesn't even go to see him when he comes back. It also wasn't a good school for him.

I just finished eps 8, trying to not binge watch.. I've read a few books on the royals, so I'm not surprised about some of the stuff

I binged it in a day last week when I had the stomach flu. I found the story line about young Philip really interesting. So much of his life was so tragic, and he seems deserving of sympathy, but he does some really stupid things. But as soon as you want to hate him, he seems like one of the best ally's the Queen has, but then again, can you really trust him? I also found the story line between Jackie Kennedy and the Queen fascinating. I had forgotten she and the Queen were contemporaries. I was sad when the episodes finished, so I started back at season 1 on again.

Philip is so emotionally confusing. I hate him and love him so many times throughout this series.

Philip is so emotionally confusing. I hate him and love him so many times throughout this series. I think love is too strong of a word for how I feel about him in the good moments - but I do really like it when hes an actual partner to Elizabeth the human, not just Elizabeth the Queen. And his backstory makes my heart break for the little kid he was. But seriously. I have never felt so in sync with royalty as I did when Elizabeth told him "oh do shut up Phillip". Because yes. A million times yes.

I really thought Elizabeth not going to see Charles when he got back from school was a little out of character so far. She isn't the most hands on mother but it seemed strange in that moment. I thought it was because she felt so guilty about not being able to choose him first over the crown with Phillip's threats of leaving her.
