We are hosting my H's grad students and their families at our house for a casual holiday party this weekend. One of our guests is vegan. Does anyone have suggestions for vegan party food? Even better if it's something I can buy that doesn't require a lot of prep. I don't know why I agreed to host this. I have no time!
So far I'm thinking:
Roasted chickpeas Veg eggrolls (will check to make sure they're vegan) Hummus & Veggies Nut mix

I make a Mediterranean bean dip that might be vegan.
black beans, diced tomatoes, diced cucumbers and red onions. Season with greek seasoning. serve on toasted bread/crackers.
Technically the recipe calls to mash the black beans - i don't do this and it's still amazing. I suggest making night before and letting sit in fridge so the flavors are great.

flippinchica My current plan is to head to Trader Joes tomorrow. I'm hoping I can find some frozen apps to toss in the oven and some prepared dips or spreads.

The vegetable gyoza from TJ's are vegan (and delicious). That would be a great app, especially if you are doing spring rolls too.
Also, vegetarian sushi (not frozen, fresh obviously).
They have coconut-milk non-dairy yogurt that's delicious and you can sub in a yogurt-based dip.
Hummus– classic, of course, but the edamame hummus, the cilantro hummus and the horseradish hummus are also really good.
Guacamole and salsa should also be vegan, plus tortilla chips or plantain chips (but I think homemade guac is better than anything you could buy).
A lot of the frozen Indian food is vegan too– the veggie pakoras would be a good heat and eat app. Also the falafel. (Make a little quick tzatzkiki dip for it with plain coconut milk yogurt, some cucumber and dill)
Stuffed grape leaves (canned)
Plus, lots of delicious nuts. The Thai Chile lime cashews are my favorite.
They also have a lot of dark chocolate and vegan cookies if you want something sweet. And their mini churros are vegan too.
