How far are you now? 23,3 Symptom check: Ute pain/pressure, anxiety, eat all the sweets, tired all the time What and when is your next appointment? December 19th - growth scan + MFM Anything you’d like to share with the group? So I got my follow-up anatomy scan/growth scan done on Friday and babe was perfect. <3 Cervix was another story -- it's a little short. 2.9cm or 2.5cm with pressure, which is about .5-1cm shorter than they expect at this point. We did a fFN test, which was negative, so they're confident we're not looking to deal with preterm labor in the next couple of weeks, but it's also another thing that weighs on my mind and makes me go full steam ahead on the crazy train. I'm doing my damnedest to just be zen and have a mental plan in place, but hell if I'm not scared. Just my luck that this wouldn't go smoothly, right? Ugh.

Rama thanks for the check in. I’m sorry your cervix was shorter than expected. Fx it keeps doing its job. I hope you can get more reassurance on the 19th. 1. How far are you now? 10+1 2. Symptom check: nausea has been really rough.I thrown up my dinner most nights. Still super exhausted, I think my boo shred again. It’s definitely time for a new bra. Mild growing pains in my Ute. 3. What and when is your next appointment? I graduated from the RE last Thursday. My first OB appointment is on 12/13. 4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I stopped my meds Friday. I had follow up b/w with my RE to make sure everything looked good, and my nurse called to say my levels are perfect. Yay, placenta! After weekly scans, it’s going to be really hard to wait until the 13th for another check in with our loss history, but I’m trying to be calm and take comfort in thus baby’s CCS normal status.

1. How far are you now? 15 weeks2. Symptom check: Nausea seems to have gone away (watch, I say that NOW...). One unpleasant hemorrhoid showed up, but my appetite seems to be slowly coming back so I guess that's a fair trade off. Still having some occasional aches and twinges on my sides where the RL is. Oh and I had the WEIRDEST symptom this weekend. You know how a muscle gets sometimes when it's really tired, it'll do that almost jello-like quiver or twitch? I had the twitchiest/quivery sensation on my right side and kind of right lower belly. There was no pain or pressure or anything I would call concerning, it was just absolutely bizarre, almost reminded me of a cat purr. I put my hand there and I couldn't feel anything. I don't THINK it could be the baby because of how early it is and my anterior placenta. I have no idea though. I asked the nurse and she didn't seem concerned, but thought it could possibly be a muscle twitching from growth and stretching. 3. What and when is your next appointment? Next Friday. Monthly check in with the NP. Can't wait. 4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I had an anxiety evaluation with my OB. I was feeling mildly freaked out by the growing pains and twitches and asked for a list of therapists who specialize in anxiety. They were very, very kind and supportive about it, and I met another one of the OBs in the practice and he sat and talked and listened to me for a sold hour. He reassured me that there was NOTHING concerning in my history but he understands that I may be struggling because of the IVF. He wants me to understand that just because it took an unnatural act to get pregnant doesn't mean my body doesn't know what to do naturally now. Kind of a comforting though. And I got to hear my tiny human again so that was well worth it. birch113, I know how tough those first weeks are. I actually begged for an extra scan for reassurance, especially since I had stopped the PIO. Rama, I know it doesn't help much, but at least the doctors are confident that early labor won't be an issue. Every little bit helps.

Rama, Sorry for the short cervix measurement but glad the docs aren’t worried. Hold onto that! mela99, That is a strange feeling but it could be the baby...I had butterfly, going-down-a-hill feelings with my daughter around that time! birch113, Yuck, I’m sorry the nausea hasn’t abated yet, FX it will soon! 1. 11w4d 2. Raging heartburn and exhaustion. I try to nap every day but sometimes I’m just so busy and then by 6 pm, I’m a zombie. 3. Next week with my OB. I’m still on my PIO and my OB wants me to figure out stopping with my RE...annoying! So I have to put in a call to my RE tmrw to find out when he had planned on me stopping. I’m sure it’ll involve bloodwork though and it’s a 45 min drive to his office. 😔😖 4. Question...my OB is recommending we do the Materni21 test. This baby was PGS normal but he says the Materni21 tests for rare chromosomal microdeletions which PGS doesn’t. Plus I’m over 40 and he recommends this test for all his patients over 35. Here’s the issue, our insurance doesn’t cover it and it’s like $650. Would you guys go ahead and do it? I’m so conflicted...we didn’t do it for our daughter, only the Progenity test which tested for the 3 major abnormalities. I’m talk8ng to the Materni21 rep tmrw to get more info but just wondering what you guys would do...thanks!

mela99 I had a similar symptom! I'm still convinced it was Iggy. For me, I described it as boiling water or a drumroll. scrang I've heard most people can get the charge reduced if you call them and ask for the cash price in cases where your insurance doesn't cover the test. I'd do it, if not for your OB's recommendation, then because I'd want all the information I could get. My insurance only covers this test versus the first trimester screening; I think this is becoming more and more standard, so it might not hurt to check with your insurance again to make sure it isn't covered. It's supposedly more accurate in determining problems early than doing the nuchal scan.

1. How far are you now? 25 weeks, 4 days 2. Symptom check: mild nausea, lots of movement, tired, sore 3. What and when is your next appointment? I had an OB appointment Monday, and a growth u/s and appointment at MFM this morning 4. Anything you’d like to share with the group? I am going on insulin to try to improve my fasting glucose. Overall the baby is measuring about in the 75th percentile, but the abdomen is measuring in the 95th percentile, so they are hoping the insulin will help keep the abdomen size in check. The baby has not been cooperative when it comes to getting the necessary heart pictures. My blood pressure has been better (within the normal range) my last few appointments, but I am still paranoid that I am going to end up with pre-e...I am worrier that can't wait to go back on anxiety meds in a few months. birch113, I am sorry about the nausea. I had it bad with this pregnancy. Rama, I am sorry about the short cervix; none of us need anything extra to worry about. We've all already been through so much. mela99, It sounds like you had the opportunity to talk to a great OB. I am glad he calmed some of your anxieties. scrang, I've heard of other people talking to people from the organizations that do the prenatal testing and have gotten big discounts. I hope you can get it figured out. We did the Panorama this time because I am AMA. I get anxious about all the testing, but I know it is very useful information, so I was glad to be offered the testing.

How far are you now? 8w5d Symptom check: Not much has changed, still tired and on off nausea What and when is your next appointment? Thursday with my new ob Anything you’d like to share with the group? Not much going on here, just hoping everything looks good on Thursday. Rama , I'm sorry about your cervix measurement but I hope it lengthens again. mela99 , It might be baby, I felt my son early on and I had an anterior placenta. I actually felt him more than in my second pregnancy and I had a posterior placenta that time. scrang , I would probably do the screening as I would want all the info I could get. Is there a similar test that your insurance will cover? woodenshoes , I hope the insulin helps!

Sorry I've been totally MIA - work has been insane, finally have a bit of breathing room. Rama, sorry to hear about the short cervix, but it's reassuring that they aren't worried about preterm labor. birch113, hope the rough MS goes away soon! mela99, glad you were able to get in about the anxiety - it's the worst! scrang, I've also heard there are ways to talk down the test costs - I think with it being relatively new, they are wanting more and more women to do it for exposure, so they are willing to work with people on the price woodenshoes, good luck with the insulin! bananas22, hope yesterday went well! How far are you now? 11+4 Symptom check: MS started up last week, but luckily it is still sporadic - no nausea, just unexpected vomiting, which is fun. Acne seems to be improving a bit, and back pain comes and goes. I've been having cramps some evenings, which I'm chalking up to uterus stretching. What and when is your next appointment? December 18th OB check Anything you’d like to share with the group? Got my Harmony results back yesterday! Low risk of trisomy and it's a GIRL!! I'm super excited. I may not be having the first grandchild (or great-grandchild, or even DH's child) but it is the very first girl of the next generation
