whatsit good luck! dizzycooks this is my concern as well. i failed my 1 hour last time by 1 point and i don't want to do another 3 hour. i know gd is due to hormones, but all those holiday treats have to have some impact no? i'm hoping 2 days after is enough time to get my act together with eating. i didn't know i was going to take my 1 hour the day i did last time, and i had 2 pieces of cinnamon sugar toast and a coffee with sugar and cream right before.

My tips are: have a high protein snack at bedtime the night before, and have a high protein breakfast.

I had my a/s today. Little boy was just relaxing and seemed to be taking a nap. First image I saw of him was his hands by his face and his legs crossed. Wish I got a picture of it. Everything looked good, but couldn't get a couple of the measurements since he wouldn't turn.

I finally got my H to understand why I'm so focused on getting the nursery done and that I'm not just trying to be a nagging bitch. Like seriously dude, nesting is a VERY real thing. Not to mention it's like the one part of this pregnancy that makes me happy at this point. After I told him this and started crying he felt bad but seriously, be a little less obtuse??
So I'm naively hoping for tons of progress today while I'm at work. I'm sure I'm going to be disappointed.

cornpop my nesting has also been unreal so far! I don't remember this kicking in until ~a month before she arrived! H is getting annoyed at all the bags of baby stuff piling up in our room but until he finishes the basement it has to stay there. Hopefully it will give him good incentive to get things done!

mrsmonogrammed, that's my plan too! I have like 15+ boxes of clothes from our toddler piled in the dining room plus all of the furniture for the nursery piled all around the house. If that's not motivation, I don't know what is! I figure this way he'll have to do something before Christmas because he won't want to host Christmas Eve with all of this stuff around.

Tough morning over here. DS has been struggling a bit at school. Keeps getting in trouble, some of it legitimate (not listening to his teacher) but most of it not terribly concerning to us (calling another kid a poopyhead because he was getting picked on, or being too fidgety at rest time). DS tries really hard to do his best at school, and I've noticed him just getting kind of dejected about it all. DH and I are doing our best to walk the line between being supportive of his teachers and strict about behavior but also understanding that he is 5 and trying to continue to make school a positive experience. IDK. DS was quiet this morning and it was unusual.
And THEN he got on the bus and I watched him go out of his way to say hi to another boy that we met last night (a child of a friend of mine) and I'm pretty sure that boy didn't say hi back. DS waved at me as the bus pulled away and I cried and cried.
I know I'm super hormonal and it isn't helping but goddammit if I don't just want to bust DS out of school right now and snuggle him for the day. Or forever.

Hugs calendula. Letting kids grow up is hard!! I know that I have a hard time at play places and playgrounds if DD (2.5) is nice to another kid and they aren't nice back. Hopefully your DS has a great day at school❤️

cornpop i don't think my h understands the nesting thing at all or why the state of our house is bothering me so much. i'm pretty sure he thinks i'm just a hormonal pregnant lady too. i just want one room in this house to get to where we want it gdi!

I was off work yesterday and spent most of my day cleaning and doing laundry. My house is fairly sparkly now (finally) but it definitely helped me make a list of things to ask DH to stay more UTD with throughout the week.

mrsmonogrammed, polson, <3 thank you! In some ways the older he gets, the easier it is, but it is just so hard not to be able to fix everything with a kiss.

I have to tell my boss that I applied for another job today - I've been with her for nearly 5 years, so this is a pretty hard convo to have.. especially since the odds are fairly good I'll get it.

I wouldn't mention anything until you have an offer in hand and are sure you will be accepting it. DNW to possibly ruin a good working relationship unless necessary😬

I need a donut. Or 5. But I have my glucose test tomorrow so that seems like a bad idea. We just had a lockdown drill at work (but they don’t say it’s a drill at the time) and my heart still has not calmed down. I haaaate lockdowns, but my work BFF was in my office at the time so at least we were together.

When you find out it’s thursday and not Wednesday! I've been thinking it was Tuesday most of the morning. I work in multiple buildings in a school district and I share the rooms I use with other people, so we are always working around each other's schedules. The speech and language pathologist uses the space I was working in this morning on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday late mornings and early afternoons. I glanced at the paper that said she would be there at 10:45 (the Tuesday) time. When she arrived at 10:10 I had to re-look at the paper and realized it was Thursday.

Good luck to everybody taking their GD tests soon. I failed my early test, so have been on the GD diet for almost 2 weeks now. I survived Thanksgiving, but I don't know how I am going to make it until March. I want all the cookies, cakes, Coke, and ice cream. I am already sick of nuts, eggs, cheese, and salad. I will be indulging big time after delivery just like I did with DS. I did have a piece of cake for my Ds's birthday. As long as I am mainly in range with my numbers I have no guilt having a special treat on special occasions. I am slightly jealous of everybody who can indulge more frequently.

calendula Oh, that makes me want to cry, too! Being a parent is so hard, and I'm sure your DS will be happy for that big hug at the end of the day. woodenshoes I have my test next week and I have this feeling I'm going to have GD this time. I'm sorry the timing has been so bad for you with both holidays! Did you not get to take the three-hour?

My family has been so loud and obnoxious this morning. I'm completely overwhelmed and I just want them all to leave. And for my house to magically clean itself.

mrsmonogrammed & Leaf 🌱 - the culture here is a bit different - if I don't tell her, the hiring manager will call her during the interview process to get feedback on me. She actually asked me last week if I was going to apply for it (I'm pretty much the only person at NFCU that has all but 3 of the qualifications..). I wanted to talk to the hiring manager first before I decided to apply. It's pretty much the standard thing to do when you get to a certain level, it just is a hard convo to have..

I have some low carb dessert recipes that don't taste like low carb, if you're interested! One is a peanut butter cup recipe..

Hello lovely pregnant ladies. I swear I still go here but I have been MIA forever. I have been trying to catch up on everybody. Between work and Thanksgiving and everything I have just been so so exhausted lately!
I will join the glucose testing club. I just did my 1 hour test this morning. I am not super hopeful that I will pass it because I failed by 4 points when I had to do it at 12 weeks. I do do not want to have to do the horrible 3 hour test again but I am already mentally preparing for it 😥😥 I had an appt this morning and I loved loved loved the new OB I met. So that made me happy!
Good luck to everyone testing!!

yianna that makes way more sense! So many managers will start to black list you if they find out :/ my last one was SHOCKED when i quit... but when you tell me there’s no extra $$$ and no room for advancement, what do you expect me to do? It sounds like the culture there is way more open.

my aunt came over this morning to watch dd so i could run a couple of errands. this baby is just sucking the brains out of me - every trip to the store takes me about 15 minutes longer than it should because i just cannot focus! even with a list i feel so scatter brained. oh well at least i got a peppermint mocha out of the deal. h is working late tonight and i'm excited to take a bath and read after i put dd down. so glad tomorrow is friday!

I'm sure my constant comparing of pregnancies is getting super obnoxious, but I guess I just keep being surprised by symptoms and things that are brand new to me.
Today's example: this child is regularly kicking me...straight down. It feels like he's kicking me right in the vagina, and it's literally made my knees buckle mid-walk. DS1 generally wasn't this active and settled head-down early on. I really hope this isn't foreshadowing of a breech baby.
