Does anyone have experience with DIY shelving/closet type stuff, similar to the Elfa system at the container store? Our office/craft studio is done except for some shelving (and then finishing up the organization part). So it would be for office and craft stuff not for hanging clothes... We now have a really good idea of what we need for the office and the Elfa stuff is super perfect except that it’s comically expensive. Just wondering if anyone has seen/used any similar products that are maybe not so expensive? We would be doing about a 6ft section and a 4 ft section and running it pretty much floor to ceiling (leaving space in the middle for the desk). I really love that they have a peg board thing as one of the options you can attach to the system, so bonus points for having that type of stuff. Here is a picture from the catalog of some of the crafty type options they have:

Have you checked Ikea? They have an Algot system which is similar. We’re thinking of using it.

The rest of the furniture in the room is from IKEA, but I’ve seen some really negative reviews for the Algot... hard to tell if it’s just IKEA haters or if it’s actually not a great product...

I have no idea what pricing is like on Elfa, but we used EasyClosets for our entire house. It was really easy (the name doesn't lie) and we're really happy with them. You can design whatever you like online and then have them audit it to make sure you didn't make any silly mistakes before they prepare it.
