I've gotten so much done this week. I've gotten into a new morning routine this week that's been giving me a really good start to my day and I've noticed that feeling productive by 7 AM puts me in a "get shit done" mindset for the rest of the day.

Also I'm getting a fanceh floofy goat in the spring. He'll live at my parents' farm and I will spin and knit his wool. I'm super excited about this.

Pics, hawkward, I need pics of the fanceh floofy goat! I got a new coffee tumbler that actually keeps my coffee piping hot. So I've had hot coffee in silence every day this week. It's the little things.

It's the little things. I was gifted an Rtic coffee tumbler about a month ago. Is it weird to call a tumbler lifechanging? Hot coffee for hours. This is not my particular goat, but it's one of his family members:

Oh. My. Goodness. That goat... the fluff... you weren't kidding! Adorable! Since I'm just throwing all my nerdiness out there this morning: I've been searching for this type of goat for... a long time. I finally found a breeder within a "reasonable" distance. So my mother and I will be driving 10 hours with a dog crate to go pick up said goat. Well, hopefully goatS. I want two. They'll live at my parents' house for now since we don't know what will happen next with H's career. When H retires in 5 years or so, he really wants to start an apple orchard. I'm trying to convince him he suddenly really needs to breed goats too.

hawkward - I grew up on a working farm. No goats, no apple orchard, but pretty much everything else - cows, horses, chickens, sheep, and we grew all kinds of stuff (hay, potatoes, veggies, etc.). It was 80+ acres of land. I appreciate your 'nerdiness' LOL I have so may goat questions. Like, how do you get the wool ready for spinning? Are you going to dye it? I'm so curious!

oldbaylover1024, my parents hobby farmed. No crops (only a huge garden) but a lot of random animals. I tell people I grew up in a zoo. We always had someone under a heat lamp in the kitchen. My mom and I will shear him and then we already have the set up to clean the wool ourselves from the sheep we used to have (they died several years ago of old age). We wash it in the washing machine (with no agitation so it doesn't felt), then card it with a big drum carder until it's clean and fluffed into roving (where all the fibers are lying in the same direction and it's ready to spin). My mom will spin it, and then I'm going to dye it with plant dyes. Then I'll knit it! I used to help with this with the sheep wool, but it was before I was old enough to appreciate it, if that makes sense. So I'm excited about it now!

That's so awesome hawkward! Such a floofy goat! I've never used real wool to crochet with but I bet it's lovely!

It's Friday! I'm so grateful!!
My feel good for today is that my class earned a dress down today. It was so nice to be able to wear jeans and cute but not too dressy top to school. The kids loved my scarf too! It's got turkeys on it.

skategirl128 A turkey scarf? You are the best teacher ever! @awkward Wow! I am so impressed. My coworker keeps goats at her parents' too as pets and to show them, but didn't know you could use their wool like a sheep's! (I realize it must be the special breed.)
