Oh, after Thanksgiving, IT'S ON!
On Black Friday we start decorating the house. On Saturday we get the tree. On Sunday we decorate the tree.
Nothing comes down until January 1st.

I start decorating for Christmas the day after thanksgiving without fail. I love Christmas and it's decorations. My house gets transformed and it's just so cozy!
I keep everything up until after the feast of the 3 kings so a little into January.

MH and I disagree about this. He likes to start the evening of Thanksgiving, and I don't like to start until a week or two before. We compromise by setting up the weekend after Thanksgiving, and I get to take it down the day after Christmas.

Technically as soon as everyone leaves my house after Thanksgiving dinner, as that is when I put up the Lego winter village. The rest of the decorating happens usually the weekend after.

I can’t see the poll, but Christmas/holiday decorations timing?
Our tradition is pj day on Black Friday, and decorate then. Or the Saturday if we have plans. I do none of the in-person Black Friday shopping.
Also, lego winter village? I will be a Christmas hero if I find one for DS. Where do I find this?

Before I married DH I put my tree up the weekend before Thanksgiving so it would be up when I got home from my parent's house. DH won't "let" me do that anymore and since he always wants a live tree we wait until after Thanksgiving to put it up. I love Christmas so it makes me a little sad but in the grand scheme of things waiting a few days isn't a big deal.

They come out with a set every year. Last year's set and this year's set are for sale now on the Lego website. The year before it may be available too, I'm not sure. But last year was a train, this year a train station, and 2015 was a re-release of a toy shop. All other sets would be pretty prohibitively expensive since they are discontinued. But if you start with last year and this year, it would be a cute train with a station. I have every set prior to last year. I'll search for a picture and post it later!

I SS because we had our ectopic loss confirmed on Christmas Day two years ago, instead of flying to visit my family across the country and announcing I was pregnant.
It actually kinda sucks because I love the holidays so much, it's my favorite part of the year, but it's been hard to get into since then. We didn't even have family to spend the day with that year, because mine had already left and H's family doesn't really celebrate holidays at all. I think we got our tree maybe a few days before Christmas last year?
Gotta say, though, I think I really need the Lego village sets. That needs to happen.

I hate that once Christmas/New Year end, it's just a long slog to the end of winter. So I tend to start getting Christmasy a week or so beforehand, but then keep the (winter) decorations and the spirit going through January. However, reading how so many of you jump on it after Thanksgiving, I am inspired to start a bit earlier for DH. menrandes WOW. So cool! Rama So sorry, that is so hard. I hope the pain is a little less raw this holiday season.
