Team real tree here too! Even though pine needles seem to multiply around the house and stay there all year I love having a real one!

We've gotten a real tree the last 5 years. Team real tree for life. I just put on our calendar one day last week that we'll be going one month from tomorrow to get it. I'll start buying decor stuff next week, though. I think we're going to need new stockings this year, since ours are a few years old & no longer made.
Our cats leave the tree alone outside of curling up underneath it when the lights are on.

I am ready for all the things Christmas! Trying to be sane and hold off though. Glad your scan went well katietopaz. So far today I've received our heating oil delivery, ruined our printer, and worked on making a pretty home organizational binder. Hoping to get to staples to get my custom Pregnancy Planner finished yet today. Also the extended release Mucinex DH got for me last night must be working because I'm blowing so much stuff out of my nose and I CAN BREATHE THROUGH MY NOSE!! I have never been able to breathe though my nose for any length of time in my life, so hopefully this keeps up.

I’m #new, can someone teach me how to gif on tapatalk? Download the Giphy app. Long press on the gif you want to save. It saves it to your pictures and you insert it into your post the same way you would a picture. Any gif you find, if you can long press and save it, should work the same.

I got to make someone feel sad today. Sorrynotsorry. Don't ask me if I have kids. Don't do it. Because I will, every time, say, "None that are alive," and I guarantee you'll feel like a tool.

I’m allergic to trees but will forever be #teamrealtree for Christmas. Conifers don’t really bother me though, to be fair. I go straight to Christmas after Halloween (Canadian) but we have a family Cuba trip the first week of December that’s occupying my mind this year. I applied for my and DS’s passports on October 27th so it’s cutting it really close for getting them in time and I’m crazily anxious.

Question on that: Should I wait until after baby shows up to renew for me, H, and get one for baby? It's not like we're making any plans at the moment to go out of country, but A) I would like to in the next few years and B) our state's DL/ID cards don't make the TSA requirements and won't be valid to pass through security next year. So if I want to visit family nationally, I'll still need a PP. Should I wait? Should I not? Halp. Answers/opinions accepted from all.

Lots of hugs Rama I hate that question and never know how to answer it. I'm looking forward to saying, "One alive," next year (or "one alive, four not"). And watch the dawning horror/mortification on peoples' faces. I realize how petty and evil I sound. Still don't feel sorry about it. I hate the question, too, but I understand it's normal colloquial conversation. I don't try to make it any worse than that, often having to say, "it's okay," several times when they apologize profusely, but yeah. I'm not about to discount my kids for someone else's feels. You want to know about my kids, you get to know about ALL of them. If y'ain't prepared for it, it's on you.

I also feel, personally, that it's how I strive to make the topic less taboo. For me, it's a casual topic as well as a personal and private one. If I only talk about it in safe spaces and hushed tones, then I don't feel like I'm working toward a culture that makes miscarriage more socially acceptable.
It doesn't hurt me to talk about my kids and I know it does for many of my friends. So, since I can talk about it when others can't, I do. I'm not shy of loss. It hurts, it sucks, it's a fact of life. And that fact is something that intrinsically is part of my life, specifically. I don't hold anyone else to the standard I set for myself, I know there are fights I can't stomach to fight myself, too. This is one I can, so I will.

Rama I'm sorry that you get put in that position when you get asked that question, especially on days when that question is painful, but I admire the way you're using it as a way to break the silence and taboo surrounding miscarriage and loss. I feel like we're moving in the right direction as a society, as a whole, and every time you're open about your experience, you only help that. I had a refreshing conversation at MOPS yesterday, after having shared a few meetings ago about my losses. The gal I was chatting with asked about how I was doing in terms of being PGAL, and then asked about my past pregnancies - when my due dates were, how far along I was, if I knew if they were boys/girls and if I had given them names. It was just...a breath of fresh air to have someone initiate that kind of conversation, and talk about the babies I lost as real people that I love and miss. She was so sweet and genuine about it.

Just because I'd hate to have different things at different stages of processing. Like I'd have all my shit done and then SO would be dragging ass to get his pictures done or whatever. So I'd just make all of traipse to the picture place all at once and then get everything sent off at the same time. Unless its easier to take the hit financially in small increments rather than one big payment. Hmm. I'm really no help.

That way you’re not in a bind if you need to travel (anywhere) since you DLs aren’t valid. Besides, child passports only last for like 5 years instead of 10 like adults. So no need to get them all together.

Rama my regular ones just feel uncomfortable and ill fitting. I'm feeling the same way about pajama pants! Anything with an elastic or string waistband just feels like it's cutting into me. The only thing that's comfortable now are these super old gaucho capris that I bought in middle school. I tried looking for maternity pjs and they're insanely overpriced, like the range you mentioned for sweatpants. Crazy!

And I tend not to get bigger other than the belly so I worry a size bigger won’t work if it’s not over the belly. Sigh.
