We’re at the hospital now. They’ve drawn my blood, started the IV, and have me hooked up to the monitor. I think we’re waiting for my blood results before doing anything else. The nurse mentioned taking a misopropyl pill and then doing the balloon at some point, but I assume they’ll be checking my cervix first? I don’t know. Pitocin will start at some point in the morning, but I don’t really have a timeline for anything yet.

I don’t have experience with either of those things, but I would honk a cervical check would be in order.

Good luck!! Miso worked for me and I never needed pitocin. Hopefully things are smooth and easy for you!

Balloon is in, first dose of miso is down, and now I try to sleep. I hope I can get some rest, but I’m already pretty crampy just from the catheter.

Good luck! I hope you can get some sleep. Thanks. I’m actually having pretty frequent painful contractions, so I took the nurse up on her offer for pain meds. We’re just waiting for the doctor to order them. Hopefully I’ll be able to sleep then. |

Morphine FTW. I was able to get over an hour of sleep, but then I woke up to pee and saw blood, so I called the nurse. She said it’s normal and tugged on the catheter to see if it’s ready to come out. It’s not, and now my contractions hurt quite a bit again because she messed with my cervix.  |

I was 4cm and 50% at 4:30. The dr said no rush to start the pitocin, so the nurse gave me the option to get some uninterrupted sleep without the monitors or anything being checked. It’s close to 6am now, and I think I’ll be calling the nurse soon to say we’re ready to move to L&D.
