The lady who also did extreme couponing made me laugh because my cousin who jumps from MLM to MLM is also a pretty extreme couponer.

That Riley grit n Grace lady made episode 3. That made me so happy. She just didn’t give a fuck when she quit. Loved that part too. She seems like she is in a good place in life now. She and her partner both just announced they are returning to the military.

The girl who said she couldn't let someone on the internet just be wrong is basically me 🤣 I feel like we need to find her and bring her here. She’s one of us. I'm in her FB group (non-LLR), people have been blowing up with excitement that she's in it

Ok I just started watching and I want the dirt. But so far it’s like the Mark and Deanna show… so does it change? This isn’t like a positive Lularoe is great documentary right? It doesn’t get into the dirt until the second episode, I was thinking the same thing when I watched the first I've been listening to Leah Remini's podcast Fair Game and she mentioned when she was writing her book about leaving scientology that the editor and publisher and stuff told her to start out with rahrah scientology so that the reader can see how someone can get wrapped up in it all and then bam here's the crazy shit.

We have half of episode 4 left but I am still amazed that people listened to this woman speak and listened to her! She looks and sounds like a crazy person. I think the MLM persona is so different from my personality that it is hard to grasp the attraction to both the mlm and, what I consider, ugly leggings.

Ok, so my impression of the Katrina reaction video is that she is the type of person that is vulnerable to conspiracies and scams and so she doesn’t blame M&D because she inherently doesn’t find the flaw in the system/“business” they set up. Combine that with the fact that she WAS able to “win” even though she wasn’t an early person and didn’t make a lot off bonuses and she has a completely skewed view of what happened.
She got hella lucky. She hustled, she’s cute, well liked, and she sold the hell out of shit product. I do believe that she didn’t get moldy, stinky leggings. Those seem to have come from the west coast warehouse, so either between that or favoritism, she didn’t get them. But she did get old stuff and I’m surprised she was chill about that but I think she can sell anything so it just didn’t bother her much.
I also think she did her own thing more so she didn’t know of as many people really getting burned by the company so that allows her to keep her blinders on. She just didn’t really seem capable or willing of seeing anything wrong with the structure as it was set up because she personally had success.
And finally, I think she told us about a third of what she knows. She said herself she is terrified of getting sued so she’s not going to be completely honest no matter how many times she said “I’m going to be honest with you”.

On the documentary, I still thinking sending the moldy leggings is the worst part. It was already so hard for retailers to sell this crap and then sending them damaged goods and just not helping them is so horrid. I mean, setting up a pyramid scheme, encouraging people to go into debt, changing policies on them, and all the weird cosmetic surgery stuff is awful but for some reason the moldy leggings just get me. Like how fucking disrespectful can you be? And then to tell them to put them in the freezer. My 8 year old could come up with a better idea than that.
It’s really too bad because if they would have just structured like a normal business and paid on sales, they would have killed it. They maybe would have made even more money themselves because the amounts they were paying the top earners was ridiculous. But they were greedy and cultish and think they are so much better than the average person.

Ok I just finished. What an evil bunch of people, especially M&D.
I lol’d a lot at Sam getting swindled by a fake marijuana farm. A lot a lot.
DS ended up watching some with me and learned a lot of new words. 😂

They have 14 kids between them and I got a little lost during the break down, but they made it clear there is no shared DNA between the 2 that got married. I'll be honest though, I still found it odd.

I seem to recall hearing former consultants being told that is was because the people buying them weren't getting the right size 😳 I could totally see M & D saying awful shit like that.

They were quick to say they never even lived in the same household before getting married, but were also so entertained talking about sending the wedding invitations for their son and daughter getting married.

Honestly this series could’ve been twice as long, I’m sure. I wanted to hear more about the factories and workers, the artists who got ripped off, and from lower level retailers. I know most of the crazy stuff happens at the top, but a lot of damage was done at those lower levels too. And I want it to end with M&D behind bars. 😠

I just realized they left out the whole “modesty” aspect of the clothing from when they first started. Which doesn’t jive at all with how Ms Deanne is looking these days.

I also had horrible flashbacks to when Pistol was waiting on her refund cheque and the elation of when she got it! I am years behind but I just felt such relief reading this.

Tlex, honestly I think knowing everyone here had my back (even if only with word and message board support) really helped me to keep pushing back to get my check and to get it for the entire amount.

This lady, the lady who didn’t like people saying wrong things on the internet, and the customer service guy that quit Kelly Clarkson are for sure the best parts.

Yes, I felt like they had an opportunity to grow a legitimately successful company but they were too weird/greedy/creepy and made too many bad decisions. Why so much pressure on the designers to create so many new and ugly patterns rather than creating actually good ones?
