How old is LO? 25 days ...38wks today! How's everything going? I'm not exactly sure. Lol. I think well. Thankfully supply isn't an issue this time! (It was for ds1). Still have flat nipples...that hasn't changed. So a nipple shield is a must if I want to nurse. I'm offering the breast...letting him nurse some. And then finishing with a bottle. He still is too easily tired and gives up before he has eaten enough. But he is doing better!! And laid back nursing has made all the difference for us! He can latch much easier and eats much longer. Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? Saturday was a bad bad day. I had to go out of town for a funeral. And didn't pump as I should have. It had been an insanely long time until I pumped. I was BEYOND miserable. I had some nipple sensitivity before the trip. But after? My nipples are even more sensitive. I have very tender spots in my breasts. Let downs are pretty painful in my breast. Like imagine if you have a balloon full of air. And then decide to pump more air into it. Imagine how the balloon feels....that's how I feel. Like inside is just overinflated and so sore. And now I just ache. I put a call in to the ob. They haven't called back yet. I'm not exactly sure what to do 0-1mo: Who is your biggest BF cheerleader? Ummm not exactly sure. Myself or bootsorhearts1 probably. We are both quite determined to do things different and better this time. 1-3mo: Getting through growth spurts okay? If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? Because ds was in nicu, I have been pumping since delivery. I feel amount has decreased some over this weekend. I'm trying to drink more and pump consistently to make sure I'm not going to lose momentum. I am sahm. So I'm not trying to build a freezer stash per se. But I am building one by default. He only drinks between 2-3oz per feeding. I'm pumping 5+oz. so I pull from my oldest milk and continue freezing the milk I'm pumping. GTKY: what’s your favorite baby gadget these days? (Rock n play, Velcro swaddler, etc) My naturebond haaka style hand/suction pump!!! SERIOUSLY!! No more wasted letdown!! 😍😍 They called back. It doesn't sound like mastitis (at least yet). And we aren't sold on thrush either. So they called in a prescription nipple cream. It has antibiotics, antifungal, and antiinflammatory in it as well. So, cold Compress, ibuprofen, and some nipple cream and see where we are in a couple days.

How old is LO? One month tomorrow!
How's everything going? Ok, better than they have been. Thrush is still hanging around, I've had some PAINFUL nursing sessions which Dr. Google tells me is just thrush so I'm hopeful that means DS2's latch is still a-ok. I've been really on the meds though the last 12/24 hours so fingers crossed it clears up completely soon.
0-1mo: Who is your biggest BF cheerleader? Not sure I have a cheerleader lol. I'm lucky that I have a lot of support from H but, he'd be supportive either way.
1-3mo: Getting through growth spurts okay? Hard to tell if we've hit them yet! With the combo of nursing, pumping, and supplementing, we're just following DS's cues and haven't been keeping super close track.
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? Luckily still good. I've significantly decreased my pumping though and just started nursing more, pumping like once, maybe twice. We go back for his check up next Monday so I'm hoping they're ok with that. Last time they told us to keep doing what we were doing (pumping and mixing to increase calories) but it was driving me crazy and my supply was decreasing. I can tell he's gaining though so we're at least going in the right direction.
GTKY: what’s your favorite baby gadget these days? (Rock n play, Velcro swaddler, etc) the RnP has been great; didn't have one with DS, not sure what I did with him lol. Also i borrowed a ring sling from a friend and it's perfect. Loooove it so much more than the moby.

How old is LO? 1 week!
How's everything going? So far so good
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? I’m trying not to worry about the clock and how long she nurses on the breast. She’s got plenty of wet and dirty diapers , I just feel like sometimes she’s not nursing “long enough” on a side or whatever. She also really doesn’t “like” nursing on the left side and DD1 didn’t either. Not sure it it’s how I hold/held them or something else. The left side seems to have a more forceful letdown so I try to express some but it seems baby still chokes and sputters. With DD1 I got lazy when she was older and didn’t care that she nursed on just the right (I was pumping both at work still) but I ended up a little lopsided by the end of our nursing time and would like to avoid that this time...
0-1mo: Who is your biggest BF cheerleader? My BFF. We both had our first around the same time and she is all-in on BF. Sometimes over the top about it but she’s super supportive in every way. Not that My H isn’t, but he’s be supportive either way and left it up to me both times what we should do.
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? I will be pumping when I return to work at 13 weeks. I’m going to pretend that’s not happening and will probably address this with questions in a few weeks when I think about maybe starting a stash...
GTKY: what’s your favorite baby gadget these days? (Rock n play, Velcro swaddler, etc) rock n play. Forever and always.

lily thanks for the words/help - the engorgement has subsided and hand expression seems (maybe ?) to be helping with the over active letdown

How old is LO? 4w6d
How's everything going? Ok- we had a bit of a setback this week as she developed a stuffy nose and a fever Thursday night, which brought her to the ER. We were stuck in the hospital until Sunday afternoon because they didn't want to release us until all of her cultures were negative. Poor baby had a spinal tap and antibiotics. Good news is that her weight is great- up a pound from her appointment at 3 weeks and finally over her birthweight.
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? She always makes a surprised face whenever she is awake lately. It's so funny and if I was more creative I could make a funny meme.
**poof**
0-1mo: Who is your biggest BF cheerleader? My husband 100% and my mom is a close second.
1-3mo: Getting through growth spurts okay? I think so. She mostly cluster feeds during to day and is usually done by 11pm/MN, which I can usually deal with. She's over 10lbs now and seems to be sleeping longer stretches at night.
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? I pump still 1-2x a day. H gives her a bottle about once a day to give me a break. I haven't really added to my stash in a while and I should really start working on it.
I had access to a hospital pump while she was in the hospital and it was very nice.

I've always been a fan of our RNP. She currently sleeps in it but I think we will switch to the crib once I'm comfortable with her in her nursery. I really like our Love to Dream swaddle up and our halo sleepsack swaddle. She is getting too long for them though, even though she is still quite a bit below the weight limit. I was a big fan of the miracle blanket with my second but this baby likes her hands by her face.

How old is LO? She’ll be 2 months tomorrow!
How's everything going? Great
Questions/concerns/cute stories to share? I love when she smiles at me while nursing. It melts my heart ❤️
1-3mo: Getting through growth spurts okay? So far so good. She’s in the middle of leap 2 according to WW. She’s a little fussier than normal but she’s also sleeping a ton more.
If you're pumping, how is that going? When are you returning to work, or are you SAH? I go back to work in 3.5 weeks. I started pumping once a day to build a stash at the end of September. I already have just shy of 100oz (I also have an oversupply, so there’s that).
GTKY: what’s your favorite baby gadget these days? (Rock n play, Velcro swaddler, etc) The Baby K’Tan. I can get so much done while wearing her, plus it’s great for things like grocery shopping or trying to chase after my toddler.

@starzia I always wear them. I leak a lot. I wore the disposable Medela ones with DS but this time around I got the reusable Bamboobies and I love them.

@starzia Try the haaka thing I mentioned. I collected 4oz during my last nursing session. So I bought a Haakaa a few weeks ago and tried it, I only got 1oz after 3 sessions. I couldn’t get a good suction so that’s probably why, but I got really frustrated and ended up returning it. I know a ton of people swear by it though.

4 weeks-she will be one month on Friday
They seem to be going good. Her latch still isn’t great but she’s not extra gassy, she’s not fussy and she has plenty of heavy wet diapers so I guess we’re doing ok for now.
Any tips for bottle introduction? We failed miserably with DD1 after trying A LOT and she never did end up taking a bottle, which was stressful at first but eventually just became my normal.
0-1mo: I don’t know if I have a cheerleader? Maybe my husband. I am tandem nursing and he has been 100% supportive of whatever I want to do, but I don’t know if I’d call him my cheerleader.
I SAH. I need to pump to try a bottle though.

@starzia I wore nursing pads constantly until DD1 stopped nursing overnight around 9 or 10 months. I always leaked and had random letdowns and it seems like this time is very similar. I like the disposable ones in the beginning when I’m leaking more and then I use the reusable ones.

thechickencoop if thrush doesn’t clear with topical meds, ask your doctor about oral diflucan. @starzia leaking varies from person to person. If you’re fine without nursing pads, there’s no requirement to wear them. You can put one in for feeding, or use a washcloth, or catch the milk. The haaka style pump as mentioned above or a Milkies milk saver are the two most popular gadgets for this purpose. wells2010 glad LO is out of the hospital. It’s so scary when they’re so little. aves0708 hope the bottle intro goes better with this baby! You can try nursing and finishing with a bottle, or doing 0.5-1oz in a bottle and finishing at the breast. I always recommend starting with cold milk because it’s easiest for caretakers, but if LO won’t take it then you can try warming it. Some babies who like warm milk also demand that the nipple is warmed prior to offering too. Try having whomever is giving the bottle hold LO just as you do when you nurse, high and close. Try having them hold LO differently than you do, maybe even facing a little away. Giving bottle while walking around, rocking in a chair, bouncing on a yoga ball. Maybe in a baby carrier. And of course no matter what pace feed with a slow flow bottle :-)
