Days are long, months are short.
Hopefully everyone is settled by now into fall! I know for us, DS's school routine is down pat and I'm happy to see the temps cooling down. We went apple picking yesterday and I had the oven on for dinner last night for the first time in awhile. What are everyone's favorite ways to celebrate the season?

I LOVE FALL SO MUCH.
We went pumpkin picking at a farm that has a little fall festival and it was so much fun. Em was so sweet and picked out pumpkins for me and her dad but didn't want one herself. We got apple cider donuts (which were disappointing) and bbq chicken (which was amazing and now I'm craving more).
We have to decorate for Halloween still. Our city takes Halloween very seriously so it's kind of intimidating.

cornpop, what is she going to be for Halloween? DS picked out a Snoopy costume and I'm tickled. I keep waiting for him to want to be something "cool" or scary but I'm glad we get one more year of adorable.

It's been super chilly overnight here --- 40 at night, near 80 during the day. It's hard to dress the kids now, but I love October. I'm totally a summer girl, but I love this change of season. House is nearly done for Halloween, have to get the oldest one his costume (shredder from the ninja turtles) still, and his bday is this month, too. So it's usually PRETTY busy.
Now, if we can fast forward through Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, I'd be a happy girl. DNW snow/ice. I live in VA and if we get ICE, it's pretty bad. And people already can't drive, so it's disastrous.

I'm a 1/4 of the way through this pregnancy. I'll be 21 weeks at Christmas and after mid-October, it's basically Christmas anyway.

I don’t love pumpkin, so I’m excited for all the apple things, cider, pie, crisp, etc. I put up all the fall decor a couple weeks ago because H was cleaning out the attic and all the boxes were convenient then and I’ve been loving this new fall weather to go along with the decor. Although it’s going to be in the 80s again this week. 🤷🏼♀️ Oh well, at least it’s not winter!

I'm a month away from the halfway point. I feel like after Christmas it will be a quick coast to baby getting here so I'm ready for the holidays to get rolling. Right now it just feels like a lot of hurry up and wait. Particularly since I don't have many appointments at this point, and I'm barely showing. I'm over it.

clementine, +1 to also loving all things apple. I sometimes feel like I'm the only one that doesn't like pumpkin. I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving this year...I think that's about the time I'll have my anatomy scan.

We put up our Halloween decor on Saturday amidst much complaining from DH that "it's not even October yet"🙄 I told him he gets 32 days to enjoy Halloween this year😉
DD is obsessed with pumpkins and has been asking to go to the patch all weekend so I think we'll probably end up going on Saturday afternoon. FX for some nice fall weather instead of the 80s it's going to be these next few days!

I can't believe it's October either! Bring in all things pumpkin, apple spice, scarves and boots, and all the dead bugs!
On a completely different note, I'm so sad about the mass shooting in LV. What a horrific thing to wake up too. Peace and comfort for all affected. My heart and mind just can't comprehend such a tragedy.

I need to get my fall decor out. I love love love decorating for fall but also am apparently lazy. In order to decorate for fall I first must take down the Christmas decor that I never took down after last year. So embarrassing. Lol. To make myself not seem like such a terrible person it's one area and it's a planters ledge which requires a very tall ladder. I have just not had it in me to go up there and DH could care less. Lol My current view as I lay on the couch.

I'm excited because October begins my "busy" season of the year. I have SIL's birthday in a couple weeks, Halloween & one of my best friend's birthday, *my* birthday 2.5 weeks later, Thanksgiving a week after that, a friend's son's birthday a week after that, my date-iversary a week after that, her other son's birthday 1.5 weeks later, Christmas, MrRama's birthday half a week later, New Year's, FIL's birthday on the 2nd, little sister's birthday three weeks after that, Valentine's Day, my mom's birthday on 3/3, then BABY.
It's all going to start going really fast for me from here, I think.

OMG I need to start Christmas songs I guess! Does not feel like that season yet. I am definitely a summer person but I've learned to enjoy fall since I've been in the northeast. We don't do Halloween but I like seeing/hearing about everyone's costumes and decor. I also LOVE Christmas and love winter sports. So this winter will be meh for me for that part. I can't wait to buy Christmas presents though. Let's have a thread for that sometime.

This time of year moves quickly!! Our due dates will be here before we know it! Honestly, I feel like I've forgotten something... >>;; It is a very busy (and expensive) time of year. Though on the money front, I feel like we're going to be getting a lot of neat baby things for Christmas because I'll be just getting into third tri then. My parents are so super excited. My mom is incredibly cute. She had IF issues with me and my little sister, so she's always been very careful to never put any pressure or anything on me, but I know she's basically bursting at the seams to shout all the things from every rooftop. Yesterday she asked me when it's okay to start planning things. I told her that it was kind of early to plan things right now, but maybe we'd start on making up the nursery after my tenant moves out at the end of the year. She just said, "Okay, I'm just so excited, I want to be able to buy things." Cue me laughing and telling her to buy whatever. I just don't want to "plan" anything right now, but I'm not stopping anyone from looking at all the tiny baby things. Hell, I've bought stuff. There's just not a *plan* yet. Hahaha.

Yay October!! I love fall so much. We still haven't figured out our Halloween costumes...we usually do a family themed costume, and it would be cute to incorporate the bump this year.
I co-lead our church's MOPS group and we're going to acknowledge October as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month at our meeting tomorrow. I'm going to share just a little about my story, but I'm a nervous wreck about it already. It's only our third meeting and I know less than half of these 80 ladies, but with that many moms in the room I feel like it's a topic worth talking about because it can be so isolating. I just hope I don't turn into an emotional mess up there.

That will be a whirlwind of events until baby gets here! Also, I'm sure you will be shocked to hear that we share a birthday month. November 6th 😂

Didn't you mention your birthday somewhere? Now, if it were the 18th, I'd be seriously wondering who is from the alpha timeline and who is from the alternate timeline.

nuggetrn, *shrug* I'd pull the lazy card & skip fall decor and just get a head start on Christmas. But, the Christmas I was pregnant with my oldest, we bought a $25 pre-decorated 3 foot tree & put our normal star at the top.

I have beautiful glass pumpkins to put out, and I just added 4 more to my collection. And plus also we are having people over at the end of October and so even more push to decorate. My whole family has seen our year round Christmas decor anyway. We laugh about it. Maybe I can just add my pumpkins to the Christmas mice? Lol

Rama I really appreciate your whole post because so much of what I've been feeling since our transfer has been the same. Even now it feels awkward to plan. Your mom sounds really wonderful and understanding though. I kind of snapped at my MIL recently when she was grilling me about plans, and could she tell people, and and and...I feel really bad about not handling it better, but I just had to be firm and say "please give me some space, I'm not ready, I've been through a lot and this is still a bit of an anxiety trigger for me". She has been a bit better since. katietopaz you're going to do great! Hugs.
