Any ladies have an Instant Pot? I just got one and I'm over the moon with it, but I'm still trying to find a good rotation of go-to recipes. I figure if there's interest we could share good recipes here - especially ones that work well for food aversions.
If you're game, let me know!
How about the following to start off: How long have you had your IP? What's your favorite thing about it? Any recipes you recommend?

What's your favorite thing about it? That you can cook frozen solid meat in it!! That's a game changer!
Any recipes you recommend? Still a newb and getting my bearings.

Please explain these to me. How long does this really take to make stuff? Does it taste just as good as slow cooking? I want to be into it but I'm super skeptical. I also am concerned I'll mess it up and it'll blow up.

All this talk of them and I kind of want one now. I'm the queen of forgetting to take meat out of the freezer so cooking frozen is what's getting me on board👌🏻

Leaf 🌱 it's like an anti-slow cooker. Same concept but instead it's SUPER fast. Like last night I put in 2lbs frozen solid pork loin, and with 35 minutes cook time it was done and so tender it fell apart when I tried to take it out. (Which was fine because it was going to be shredded). Back in the day there were manual pressure cookers which could explode but these are all computer controlled with safety mechanisms so it's super easy once you learn the steps.

My freezer is PACKED with frozen meat that I never plan ahead to defrost and then I still have to go buy fresh meat. That's what sold me. You can even cook ground beef from frozen and it will still crumble up! Here's the marinated pork loin I did last night. I put the frozen meat in, and one onion cut in quarters. That's it! (Edited to remove meat image)

rm2013 does it take a long time to heat up/release the pressure? It takes 10-15 min to come to pressure. Once it's done cooking you can release the pressure right away and serve, or let it come down on its own. Depends on the recipe and your preference. Also different than a slow cooker - it has a sauté function. So you can brown your meat first or make a sauce all in the same pot. If you sauté first, it will get to pressure quicker because it's already hot.

Can anyone help? Even though I deleted the meat pic and added a new pic, the meat pic is still showing up in the feed ☹️

I really want an IP!! I have already told my husband, my mom, and my brother... Trying real hard to get one for Christmas. Haha
The most exciting to me is being able to throw frozen meat in!! I suck at remembering to put stuff out to thaw!!

C&P from the food board: So tonight I did a sausage and pasta meal that was so yummy! 😊 my favorite thing was that it always seems like sausage takes so long to cook in the skillet and I always end up scorching it, so this was a better way for me to cook sausage. -I sauteed bell pepper, onion and garlic in butter/oil in the IP -remove from IP -Sauté sausage in a bit more butter in the IP. I cut it into 3"links to make it handier. -meanwhile cook pasta. I did fettuccine - add a cup of water and pressure 15 min. -remove and slice -add bouillon and a little more water and a cup or so of cream -you just want enough liquid to make a nice sauce for the amount of sausage, peppers and pasta that you have -I had a little leftover parmesan so I added it with the cream -dump in some parsley(optional) and add the sausage and peppers etc back in. -taste and adjust salt seasonings to taste -directions said to add pasta and cook till sauce thickened. I did enough for leftovers and I didn't want all my pasta soaked up so I just cooked the sauce and then mixed at the table. -serve with halved cherry tomatoes as garnish. I would skip this since DH dislikes but I had orange ones and they looked nice with the red bell peppers. Here's a link but I only half followed since I was using the IP.

alwayscheese It’s so weird - on other posts in the board, the preview shows the last picture posted in the thread. For some reason, I still see the meat pic, even though 2 pics have been posted since. And.... on the main HIH activity feed I see it with the latest picture, but in this board I still see meat. Just trying to figure out what the heck Tapatalk is doing. It’s been acting up other ways too, but I checked and I have the latest version. 🤔

My IP bit the dust with some sort of error code AFTER warranty. So I need to get a new one... probably wait until the After Thanksgiving day sales!!
But you can seriously make STEW in like 45 min.
Dried BEANS in like 60 minutes with it coming up to pressure and back down (so it's really like 1.5 hours).
It's so perfect.

I don’t really like gadgets but the speed of cooking sounds ideal. I think i’ll look for the 8 quart duo around Christmas time.
