Hiiiiii! New runner here. I've always hated it, but now that I have a supportive sports bra and free access to a treadmill, it's not so bad. I just started week 4 of C25K and man, that was tough. I think I'm going to redo week 3 to build up my endurance a little. My goal is to run my first 5K on 10/7, so I'm excited to get there. Where did you find a sports bra? I can never seem to get one that is supportive enough. I bought the Panache underwire sports bra on Amazon: www.amazon.com/Panache-Womens-Underwire-Sports-Bra/dp/B005X5FG2O

Dumb(ish) question- do you have an infant car seat, and can it be secured in the jogger? My lo's pediatrician gave the green light to take her running at a few months old b/c the jogger I have (graco lynx) is a click-connect for her car seat. It does add extra weight, and running surfaces should still be fairly smooth, but it worked out really well for me. I followed this advice with DD. BUT I will be the contradiction here and just throw this out there. Unrelated to jogging, DD had a brain tumor and brain surgery, but we got to spend LOTS of time with her neurologist, who basically said FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T PUT YOUR KID IN A JOGGER UNTIL THEY ARE ABLE TO SIT UP ON THEIR OWN. (I was pregnant at the time and had brought up jogging with DS in the stroller once he was born.) That's what I did with DS, unsupported sitter. Why was the neurologist so adamant? Just out of curiosity?

I sure did.

Just out of curiosity? It was a while ago, I don't remember all the reasons. The muscles in the neck aren't strong enough to support the head with the jostling. There is some concern about the possibility of micro trauma. You basically won't find any research on it other than anecdotal. If the manufacturers say don't do, why wouldn't you just wait another couple months? If I recall correctly (hard to say. Pregnant and dealing with a brain tumor 🤷🏻♀️) concern is tip hazard. The strollers are tested for balance and stability while jogging withOUT an adapter and car seat attached to it. With those, it's too heavy and more prone to falling.

I was able to get to the gym last night. H wanted to go and said we should "take turns" but he's going out to a concert tonight & tomorrow night w/o me so I was like "lol, nah. It's my turn". I did 3 miles running 3 min/walking 2 min. The training program says to do that for 30 minutes. But at 30 I was pretty close to 3 miles so I did another set. I've never been a fast runner, when I ran 5K's I was around a 10 min mile. I'd like to get back down around that pace, I know it'll take time and I'll get there as my intervals become more running and less walking. Strength training at home tonight & tomorrow and then out for a run on Thursday - I think the weather will cooperate so I can run outside

Ali7P I've never been a fast runner either. 10 min mile is generally where I range as well. I'm hoping to get down to 9:30 a mile while doing my 5K's by the end of the summer. Hope the weather cooperates for your Thursday run!

Did my second run of the week with DS (2 1/2) in the jogger. Did 2.35 miles in just under 30 minutes. So slow. But I only walked twice and this kid is heavy.

I'll have to try this. Right now I have one Victoria's Secret sports bra that I like but that's it. I definitely need to find something else. I just started week 2 and so far so good ☺ I am really enjoying getting to the gym and having some time to myself in the evening. I forgot how nice that was!

I didn't think I'd get out for a run yesterday but the timing worked out. I did 30 min w/ intervals of running for 3 min, walking for 2. I feel like I had more in me but I don't want to get burned out & I'm sure the plan I'm following is designed that way for a reason. Strength training tonight, rest day tomorrow, then my 4 mile run on Saturday AM.

Hi. I need to go here.
I'm an avid runner and triathlete, but I'm 17w pregnant and I run like sludgy mush while pregnant, so I need some encouragement to not fizzle out.
I just did a 5k over Memorial Day weekend. It's one I've done before but the course was different and soooooo hilly. So I signed up for another one for next weekend that's flat. I'm hoping to have a better race before my body begins to slow down as I get bigger.
So hi. I'm about to head out in a bit. Soon as I finish my coffee.

peacock, Keep getting out there! Those first few runs PP are tough, but it gets so much better. I remember by about 6 or 7 months PP I was able to run with the BOB for like 4 miles fairly comfortably. Just keep at it, girl!

Hi! Started half marathon training again a few weeks ago. I'd only been doing some halfhearted training since I did a half last November so it was nice to get back with my running group to get some motivation. I also bought two new pairs of running shoes for motivation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'd run more of both my kids could ride in the double jogger. DH is a chef and isn't home until 11:30 pm most nights, so way to late to go for a run. When September rolls around and DD is 6 months I think we'll have a decent run schedule.

Do you like it? I loved it but the wire started to come out on one side after about 3 months. I stuffed it back in though

I stuffed it back in though I haven't tried that particular one but in general have not had luck with underwire sports bras. I just ordered Athleta's "Hullabraloo" sports bra, hoping it is actually for high impact as advertised.

I've run 5Ks & 10Ks but that was before DD2 was born (she's 19 mos). The program is run/walk intervals, with run time increasing over the weeks. I did 4 mi today. Next week my long run will be 5. What does your training schedule look like? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ali7P - I'm training with a USAFit group, they have groups in different cities. I do 3 runs during the week, a mix of hills, tempo, and easy runs, then long run on the weekend with the group. Long runs increase by about a mile a week, longest is 12 miles. We are at four miles for a long run this week. Targeting an early November half. I did C25k when I started running, and going and I did a marathon, it's a solid program! Have you picked which half you're doing yet? I haven't decided yet.

I'll let you know!

I live outside Boston, considering a few in this area. I'd like something flattish, the last one I did had rolling hills and they did me in.
