I know from the first health thread that alwayscheese started (I hope you don't mind that I'm starting this this week?) that a lot of you have fitness or health goals this pregnancy. How is everybody doing so far?

I haven't kept up with running, but I have kept up with my Pilates/Barre and kettle bell classes. But now that the nausea is hitting I'm afraid that will stop too. And with that comes eating hangover food constantly. So basically I've been doing good until this point but I think it's the beginning of the end.

I've been doing well with walking...but DD keeps wanting me to carry her, which I don't really want to do too much of...so I'll probably have to get a good lightweight stroller. We go rowing, swimming, kayaking and peddle boating every day too so I'm definitely getting my exercise in. We came home for the weekend though (DD needed a break from the boat) and it has been too hot to do anything really since we've been back. I'm looking forward to getting back up to the boat hopefully tomorrow or else I'm just going to be sitting on my but for the next month.
I've also been STARVING the past 3 days so eating a lot...but all good food. Junk is my only aversion so far.

I gained nearly 60 pounds with my first pregnancy, so I'm determined to do better this time. In fairness, at that time, I had doctors who were still preaching outdated ACOG advice about low heartrates and "just take walks", so I went from being a half marathoner to a slug (my diet did not help). Its 6 years later and I think OBs are generally more supportive of physical activity during pregnancy.
I've been keeping up with about 3 Orangetheory classes a week. My only real symptom has been fatigue, so on the days when I need to scale back on intensity, I do, but I still go. I go to bed at about 9 every night. And I've been pretty strict about my diet. Lots of water, lean protein, fruit and veggies, healthy fats, some whole grains. I'm still on progesterone supps, so I'm really bloated and if years of fertility treatment taught me anything about managing these wild hormones, its having a clean diet helps. I suck down a lot of ginger tea at my desk throughout the day.

calendula I have such good intentions about staying active the entire pregnancy but I know once the nausea really hits I'll be struggling even to just get in walks.

Its so hard to function when you're about to barf! With your pregnancy with your daughter, did it continue past first tri or did you get some relief at some point?

Its so hard to function when you're about to barf! With your pregnancy with your daughter, did it continue past first tri or did you get some relief at some point? It was from 6 weeks literally until I delivered. I was even throwing up during labour...they had to give me something so I wouldn't throw up on the table during my ECS. I only gained 26 lbs...most of it was 3rd tri. They wanted to hospitalize me at a few points because I couldn't keep anything down and wasn't gaining weight. I am not looking forward to that again. So no relief at all. I'm going to try to enjoy this next week and eat whenever I'm hungry in case history repeats it's self.

sammysam that sounds horrible. Did your OB ever try Zofran or Diclegis or something for it? I feel for you. alwayscheese, in a second! I would be asleep earlier than that if I didn't have to put my son to bed. We almost have the same bedtime ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png)

calendula I had a prescription for something but SO didn't want me taking it so I just suffered through. Now that I know what to expect I'm hoping it won't be as hard to manage.

Of course now that I'm pregnant again it's back...but I'm hoping it'll disappear again once #2 is here.

I've completely fallen off the physical activity wagon. Fatigue and nausea pretty much keep me in a constant state of blah and the thought of any physical activity makes me tired already. I did play some pool volleyball the other day which felt good, so I'm trying to use that as motivation to try something else this week.

My SO took a 3 mile walk on this weekend and I feel guilty for not going, but it is so muggy out I just can't think of anything I'd like to do less. All I really want to do is splash around an ice cold pool at this point.

Well we're on the lake so I jumped in the water and swam around a bit. I guess it'll count for exercise lol

I went to a festival on Saturday so did lots of walking. Yesterday I did stretching/very light yoga but otherwise I'm a lazy cow. I'm either tired, nauseous or the diclectin makes me drowsy, so I just don't care about working out right now.

I'm planning to keep up TRX class twice a week until I can't. With my first, exercise was the first thing to go. I would get debilitatingly exhausted and super sick so hoping that doesn't repeat. With my second I wasn't working out at all but my pregnancy was better overall so maybe I'll be ok. I also need to get in a better routine of walking the dog every day. He's fairly lazy but I know that it's good for both of us.

Thanks for this! Nausea and fatigue hit this week (5 weeks) so I'm trying to force myself to eat something green everyday. Could only stomach cereal for dinner last night (a consistent theme through my last pregnancy). Need to make sure I get in some home yoga videos a few times a week, and early morning walks before the humidity hits when DS wakes up too early (which happens too frequently for my liking). I've still been drinking iced coffee in the morning, but last time I ended up quitting just because I didn't have the taste for it. That may be around the corner...

i have been getting plenty of activity in, but have been eating junk. it's not even because i'm having aversions, so i don't really have any excuse other than not being able to cook for the past few days. im hoping to clean it up a little bit the rest of the week and keep going with the walks. i'm sure once all of our stuff gets here, unpacking will be another good workout. that's all i've got.

I was going to the gym 3 times a week but haven't gone once this week. I've been trying to fit walks in but I've been doing free weights and a few exercises at home. I'm hoping to get back to the gym this weekend.
