I actually defaulted into using alcohol mindfully last month. I started tracking all of my macros and am actually doing really well hitting them. This means that when before I would have had a couple of glasses of wine with dinner and then come home and opened a bottle for another, now I'm only drinking if it's within my calories. Unfortunately this also means that while I've been drinking less, I'm also drinking more often since I'm able to stick a glass or two in each night and then work the rest of my food choices for the day around them. I also typically have a hard time eating enough carbs, and I realized that wine is a quick way to use them up. lol
This month my goal is to use more of my calories on food and hitting my protein goals vs. spending them on alcohol.

I have been doing well with mindful drinks. I travel for work next week and then the pool will be open and Memorial Day weekend all happen this month, so we will see how it goes. Relaxing by the pool with a drink is one of my weak spots.

Shoot coldcoffee, you just reminded me that I'm traveling for work next week too. We're having a company on-site and my company/department is VERY VERY happy hour friendly. I'm going to need to think about how I want to handle this.

I'm going to need to think about how I want to handle this. Luckily, we don’t schedule anything outside our work days. I would die. I bought myself tickets to a ballgame and two music shows though so… If I do drink it will be a one/night limit because it messes up my sleep and…. I don’t sleep well in hotels to begin with.

I bought the Reframe app and am liking it so far. Even though it is just a few dollars a month, paying for it makes me more likely to use it. I get notifications to do daily tasks (there is daily reading material, a motivation quote, a journal entry with a prompt) and log drinks. I am on the "cut back" track. It is helping me be more mindful. There are also forums to talk with others but I haven't participated.

I'm dry right now. We've got a staycation planned in a couple weeks so that's the next time I'll be having any alcohol. I rented a house on vacasa that is only like 4 miles away 🤣. It's got a hot tub and is two stories (aka a mansion according to DS) and lots of cool stuff to do. It's right near a playground too. I'm excited! My friend and her H are going to come over one day and hang out so that should be fun.

We're about halfway through the month. How's it going for everyone? Doing ok. Had one drink Wednesday night with dinner. Thursday I ended up going out with coworkers. Had one more drink than planned (3 total). Not too bad. No other plans for drinks this month, but not counting it out completely. sweetp how did you do with your travels?

We're heading home from our staycation this morning. I went hard for 3 nights and was totally over the booze by yesterday. I had like 2oz of wine with dinner and that's it. I sent 2 pretty full bottles of wine home with my dad lol. Back to being totally dry til the beach trip that starts on June 9th. 😎
