My daughter needs a raincoat for a trip to Scotland. I had one for her that was both wind and waterproof but she adamantly refused to wear it. She finally told me it was too loud and scratchy-sounding. She has some sensory sensitivities.
Does your kid have a quiet raincoat? What material is it or where did you get it? I’m trying to find a solution that may or may not be better than those sweaty rubbery ones.

It’s the outside material that she freaks about. Her last one was nicely fleeced line. I found that site, too, but wasn’t sure which sensory issue they were targeting. Tags? Itchy material on skin? I may just go to the mall and touch a bunch of them with her. What is my life.

My uncle got my siblings and I Cabelas brand raincoats 25ish years ago and my kids wear them now. They're less loud, but they are rubbery. It may be an option?
I've seen people using bees wax candles to waterproof canvas sneakers. It would probably be time consuming, but maybe you could do similar with a canvas jacket?

Wool works well for the drizzly rain we would get, and it was very quiet.

We’ve had good luck with Carters raincoats.

Reima is a great brand that we're always happy with but I bet taking her with and having her feel the materials and try the jackets on makes the most sense.
Do you have any decent department stores or a decent TJ Maxx? That's where I would try.

I have this one from Amazon:
33,000ft Women's Softshell Long Jacket with Hood Fleece Lined Windproof Warm up Waterproof Windbreaker
It's an adult size, but you could find one with similar material. It's thin fleece on the inside but almost like a neoprene material on the outside so not loud at all.

My girls have these Eddie Bauer jackets. We got them at Costco last spring, but I bought them direct on sale this year. www.eddiebauer.com/p/813OW126/girls'-lone-peak-3-in-1-jacket?sp=1&color=Spa

I keep seeing the title and thinking first that's the name of a new book, movie or musical group and then thinking how amazing that here you can ask about a thing like a quiet raincoat and get many helpful replies. love that about this place
