Popping back in. My oldest was really sick for most of last week and then the weekend was sports dominated, so things are finally feeling settled again this week to get back into a fitness routine. I rode my bike for 20 min yesterday and did a walk/run today after a dental appointment before meeting and walking the kids home from school, which I'm usually never home to do. The weather is very springy for the 10 day forecast so hoping to get out for walks as many days as I can each week at school. Girls on the Run starts next Monday too so that's two guaranteed days a week of intentional movement.
Food is okay, but I REALLY need to get back to strict macros. I'm being way too loose right now and it's not helping me accomplish any of my goals, so I need to get it together.

coconutbacon I hope your recovery is on the quicker side, I know how hard it is for you to have so many limitations on your running and movement in general.

Yesterday was a “sprint up hills on repeat” run 🤨 and today was 7km outside for a change! It’s warming up here but the paths are still pretty icy/slushy so it ended up being easy pace whether that’s what I intended or not. Ha.

I did 11km of running yesterday for a total of 30k steps. Walked into work this morning - no running planned for today, just a lot of walking.

5 min warm up run w/ JJ 30 min 2000s run w/ Alex 5 min post-run stretch w/ JJ Does anyone else miss the 10 min post-run stretches? I appreciate the 5 min ones on the tread when I'm short on time, but sometimes I really need that long deep stretch into my running muscles. Food tracking is still going good. I'm on day 4 and have dinner with a friend tonight. This is the part where I usually give up because I don't know the restaurant dish macros, but I'm aiming for consistency, so I'll find something close and keep on keeping on. I've already pre-logged 2 glasses of wine.

Also, not motivation related, but NSV - I just got back from my 2nd pelvic floor therapy appointment! I am so ready to do double unders and lift heavy without the fear of leaking. It's taken me about 5 years to prioritize this and it's been about 5 years too long.

sweetp - I am definitely missing the longer pre and post-run stretches. 5 minutes post-workout, especially as you start getting more distance/time or a speed workout, is not enough.

Rest day today. I’m trying to take more rest days this week to beat this cold. I’m feeling okay, but I definitely feel like my lungs are a bit affected. I’m not coughing much, they just feel like they are working a bit harder than usual. I will be back at it tomorrow.
I have my transformation challenge weigh in/body scan on Sunday. I don’t think I have lost any weight, but I do think in the last few weeks I have gained more stamina on the tread, and I feel strong. I haven’t been measuring so I really don’t know what to expect lol.

Lunchtime workout
- 5 min Pre-Run Warm Up with Matty - 35 min W4/D2 N2R - it was so wonderful to run outside in a tank and shorts - I finished just before the rain started so perfect timing - 5 min Post-Run Stretch with Hosky
I am still sore from RK's Lower Body torture session workout on Tuesday but my run/walk today definitely helped flush a lot of that out.

Another 30 min pop punk ride with Kendall This week is crazy busy but next week is busier?!! Hoping to keep the momentum going. The sun and warmer temps are definitely helping.

I understand that none of those measurements are trustworthy at all. It was just included with the transformation challenge.

Ah, it's always so fun when you have motivation and then it runs away. I took last week off and tried to not eat like a total asshole. Wasn't great, wasn't awful.
This week has just been a giant clusterfuck. I'm still trying to figure out what set things off- I think some of it is "post-meet depression" after a big event. I was switched to one of our other coaches for this block which isn't an issue and I'm fine with it, but Jesus you would like someone killed my puppy by my reactions to it most of the week and how workouts have gone. I'm pretty sure I haven't recovered fully either, which isn't helping. I got a whole 90 minutes of sleep last night, which is great. And of course I took this week of therapy because hell, everything's been going great.
I did manage to not eat my feelings and everything else last night, which was a win. I was going to put my Friday workout tonight as I am setting up to run a meet tomorrow night and then running a meet Saturday. I'm going to skip my Saturday one too. My plan for tonight is dinner, knock out some of the final stuff I need for this weekend, take the max dose written on my bottle of traz and going to bed. Live to try again next week.

I'm down to only two left in my bookmarks that I like and one is an older Robin stretch that will definitely be coming down the purge pike soon enough.

I may run tomorrow night and have a longer run planned for Saturday morning. Other than that, lots of walking.

Hey all! I haven’t been around much this month. I’ve been so incredibly busy and it really started to drag me down. I decided to take a week off of all my extra peloton stuff and just focus on running for a bit but now I’m back at it. I only did 3 miles today because I’m doing a cutback week and it feels weird. I also started JJ’s 3 day split and CYC2 today.
Also, I need to word vomit this somewhere but we just found out that DD3 has alopecia. She’s lost about 25% of her hair but we can’t get into a dermatologist until August and I’m freaking out about that a bit. I don’t know how to help her when I have no idea if she’ll lose more hair or how much. I guess luckily for her all of the hair she’s lost has been on the side of her head so it almost looks intentional. Last weekend she rocked it at her cheer competition by covering the bald spot in glitter. I hope she always has that much self confidence.
So yeah. March kinda sucks so far. I just need to survive until spring break so I can have an emotional breakdown and lay in bed all day. Ya know. Totally healthy stuff 🥴

Hello. Behind on posting yet again. DS started baseball this week. Our first experience with Little League (last 2 years were t-ball). Practices are longer and we're getting home later, eating dinner later, doing all the things later, and I need to get used to it lol. The field where he practices has an awesome walking path though which is a bonus. I don't plan to stay at every practice, plus DH is going to volunteer for the ones that he can, but DS wanted me to stay for the first few.
Yesterday was a full body with Callie and then Pilates with Aditi. Today was a recovery day, 30 min Pilates with Kristin plus a 45ish minute walk at the ball field.
B - toast, smoked salmon L - leftover French dips + some pretzels D - Skinnytaste Jamaican coconut shrimp stew S - banana mug cake

bunnyfungo, I am sorry about the diagnose. I have zero experience besides what my cousin has recently shared on FB. She was diagnosed at 44 with it and lost all her hair. Hers is stress induced I believe. I hope you get in to see a doctor sooner than August!

This week I had to condense everything since we'll be at a soccer tournament for the weekend. This is a (second) one off as DD's AYSO team has been really successful and is still playing from where they started in August, but I feel for all of you who are spending your weekends doing this regularly and trying to fit in care for yourself too! Today was 20 minute full body with Callie, and a 20 minute/2 mile run to the ocean and back. I will be lucky if I get a walk with the dog in today too, but need to both work and get the car packed first. Trying to get solid breakfast and lunch in with extra veggies, so that I can enjoy celebrating the success of our girls this weekend!

OTF this morning. I felt great so I think I’m finally over this cold! And now H has it. 🥴 But DS seems a little better today, so I’m hopeful he can be back to his normal activities next week.
OTF was the Orange Everest workout today. 23 minute tread block for distance, but with inclines. Start at 2% and move up 1% every minute up to the max of 15%. Then down to 14, 12, and down by 2s and then 2 minutes at 1% with that last minute an all out. I ended up with 1.83 miles over 23 minutes. I mostly kept base pace up till 8% or so and then jogged and walked till the incline went back down. It was tough, but I personally love inclines, so it was fun for me. The floor work was all lighter endurance stuff so that was nice after that tread block.

I tried a couple of the Dannon Light & Fit Remix yogurts this week (Brownie Sundae and Strawberry Cheesecake) and enthusiastically recommend. I usually do their cherry flavor. These are a little higher calorie but yum.

Lunchtime workout
- 45 min Full Body Strength with RK (this was the final workout of the week for her unofficial 4-day split) - 10 min Full Body Stretch with JK
I enjoyed the workout except the cardio AMRAP at the end. Nothankyouplease to human-makers when I'm already gassed. I only did 3 rounds in the 4 minutes. I'll likely repeat this program for a total of 4 weeks, but I am nixing the cardio elements - she was shorter on rest time in between sets and that's enough cardio (plus I get enough cardio with my walks and run/walks elsewhere in the week). I'm also prepared to drop reps as needed to not feel so gassed.
