yikes I'm like nope not gonna do it and like I gotta do it cause the pain in my hoohaw won't stop and it's giving referred pain everywhere else
waiting for the updated price estimate cause it's definitely gonna be more than 1 unit of botox.

It’s not too bad on my face so I hope it’s ok for your lady parts too! Either way, I bet it’s pretty quick.

Thanks guys! It's for hypertonic pelvic floor muscles-- so like a permanent kegal with spasms. so trying to relax a whole bunch of mucles in there. I was surprised by the quote being "only" $300 but then it didn't include anesthesiologist and not enough botox. I'm just looking for some pain relief but idk man

Botox really is a workhorse in women's health - pelvic floor help, anal fissures, migraines, wrinkles, sweating. It's the secret hero for so many of us.
I really hope it's not too awful Amy. I can't imagine it's worse than needles in your gums for dental work? And at least you won't see it. But crossing all the things it helps!

Unfortunately botox for pelvic floor is not fda approved. So paying out of pocket for the botox portion. cross fingers that this comes in under 2k. I've sold a lot of stuff to come close to that number. But does have me second guessing. Is the pain bad enough to warrant $2000? I hate medical bills.

I'd think of it like any sort of injection. In my experience, it hurts less than vaccines or similar because they use a small needle. Not sure if it would be different for injection in the vagine.
Sidenote: On IG I just saw a cosmetic treatment called "labial puff" where women are getting filler injected into their labia. Woooooof that shit must hurt. No thank you.

microworm Hopefully it's a small needle but they gotta go all the way back to get some of the worst muscles. I do have that much room in there. And for some the aftercare is oh I had some shots and others it's stuffing up in there and bleeding and pain. It will be just fine if I at least know so I'm prepares it's not all kittens and rainbows. Man I need a win here.

Oh Amy. Good luck. Fx the price is manageable and the pain ends up being totally worth it.
And fuck insurance man.

My ortho originally recommended this as a possibility for my piriformis. I hope it goes well for you!

Rusty Red the first time gyn did a full exam to touch all the muscles on the left side (comparing each to my good right side) things weren't bad until he touched piriformis in the way back. That one is the prime instigator. Other muscles keep joining the party. Even some right side muscles in pelvic floor too. my ortho did Us guided piriformis injection of numbing and Steroid. It has been the only thing to take away all the pain, tingly and numb toes but it doesn't stick. Ortho would only do piriformis steroid shot twice. So this is next step. Botox the piriformis from the other side to make it stop.

Honestly I find many (not all of course) men to be the worst at caregiving and helping when their women are ill. I’m sorry. I hope the dizziness and cramping have passed and you are feeling better today.

Not only making sure ya got what you need when you ask but thinking of things you need before you ask. Ok you need to take these pills eat this food go potty wash your face take a nap. Without me saying any of those words. He is how I got thru the initial weeks after my fall. But alas he is not home.

My parts feel like they were used as a pincushion and hurt quite a bit. Trying not to use vicodin but not succeeding.
My pain doc says I'm hyper sensitive to pain so things that shouldn't hurt much my body overreacts to and I feel it as higher pain. Guess I can't say I have high pain tolerance any more.

I'm out of reeses. So that's not good.
Dr notes say she did not inj botox in my piriformis like she said she would at office visit. So piriformis is doing its super pain cramps numb leg that happens any time pelvic floor is touched.
Sigh

After days of bad pain I'm a bit better. Dr answered my message that she did inject the deep levator Ani muscles including piriformis. Those muscles are cramping and tmi keeping me from pooping which was increasing my piriformis and pelvic floor cramps. After miralax I'm feeling a little less crampy but butt hip pain and numb leg/toes continues. And pain. I'm supposed to call tomorrow to see if they can fit me in for an appt. Hope so usually wait time is 3-6 mos or more I currently feel like I have the flu so I'm going to bed at 8pm.

I have not updated this thread cause I'm a bit depressed about the whole thing.
This is my vent complaining that follows below. You don't have to read but I need to write it.
Right now my insurance has denied the whole $3500 claim so there's that. The quote from dr office before hand was 10% of that. So I wait for full claim info to show on ins portal to figure out what to do about that.
My pelvic floor itself feels more relaxed. Pt this Friday they'll poke around in there and they may find it relaxed I hope. To date any touching of pelvic muscles have sent them into spasm so im not looking forward to that Hope to get me some new ideas of how to get muscles to Stay relaxed besides things I already know that haven't worked yet.
But the piriformis area and sciatic nerve compression, numbness and pain has not gone away.
It got worse after botox and I honestly doubt she really did hit the piriformis at all based on its reaction. write up Dr says that she injected into the deep levator muscles. Those muscles dont include piriformis. But dr says deep levator does include piriformis.
Since this piriformis pain/numb started Oct 22 any touch of piriformis like recommendations to sit on tennis ball has made all symptoms worse. Including deep massage elbow in the piriformis equals extra numb tingling sciatic nerve zipps and pain. Pt that does dry needling is careful to not get those exact spots or it increases instead of decreases pain. Tens unit too.
So I feel like it's Oct 22 I have this pain numbness and it's not any different or better and I'm paying $$$$ for nada.
Only actual relief has been us guided piriformis injection of lidocaine and Steroid. But ortho dr only will do that 2 times period.
I'm very arg

Oh Amy I’m so sorry to hear that. I’d be pretty livid about all of it. And just tired. Living in constant pain and fighting with insurance just sucks.
Honestly I’d just ignore the fucking bill for awhile because fuck all of that.

Honestly I’d just ignore the fucking bill for awhile because fuck all of that. I figure it will be a month before I get a bill. And I'll pay some on it and make payments if I end up having to. Hopefully it will show dr contracted amount that can be charged and they'll forgive that part of it so maybe it will be half of 3500. blerg. Probably this week I'll get the insurance claim in the mail and can think about appealing. I know that botox for pelvic floor is not covered by insurance but the pudendal nerve block should be and the dr to do that, maybe the anesthesiologist. I know dr office will not appeal the claim denial, because they said so; but they are supposed to give me info to help convince insurance to cover part of it. Dr office giving me a good faith estimate of $300 is criminal though.
