Every holiday is a bit of a shit show. Thankfully my mental health is exponentially better now than it was on the other New Year’s Day so I survived. 😅

We drove to the beach today and saw seals. It made me very happy.
Eating delicious snacks now.

I got a job!!!! It’s $1 less an hour than what I was making but it’s with my same team and I’m going to be working at home still and in HR which is where I want to be anyway. Plus it’s what $80 a month it’s better than the 0 I’m getting Factor in what you're saving not having to commute every day and it may be even closer. Huge congratulations to you! Sadly my last position was also WFH but still it’s close enough

angelashly yesssss I'm so happy for you! Congratulations! When do you start? I start in 3 weeks so I’m both thinking of all the things I said I was going to get done but then started to go into a slight depression and watched a lot of tv and just taking it easy and be a vacation for the next 3 weeks.

I hope you can strike a little balance and also just enjoy some down time without the pressure now.

The big kid had a bit of a meltdown on Saturday over not liking his new hanbok but he got over it and was excited to put it on Sunday for a belated New Year's celebration. The 3YO is suddenly into having money and buying things so he was stoked to get some money even though he refused to do the bowing that gets you the money... maybe next year! All in all, I'm just happy to get them into their hanbok a few times a year and I'm glad my big kid is embracing the tradition.

We had an unseasonably warm weekend and now tomorrow we're getting a few inches of snow. I think that's kind of perfect!

We have about 6-7 inches so far and it’s still coming down. We don't have that much but we got a few inches in like 3 hours. I think it's tapering off now. I have a delay for work that I'm hoping turns into a snow day but I don't think it will.

I'm jealous. The snow completely missed us this time, and we were originally told we'd get an inch or two. We haven't had a real snow yet this year.

Could I ask a random question? We need a hotel for one night over spring break north of Atlanta, off 75. We’re just stopping for the night, so a basic Hampton Inn or something with breakfast included. Is Marietta a safe area? Or is there somewhere else that would be better?

I got an email from B's English teacher yesterday letting me know that he was missing assignments and failing with a 68. You would've never caught me dead with missing assignments at his age, I was such a bookworm and school nerd, so he definitely inherited this from DH. Ughhh.

School called a snow day today last night in anticipation, so we're enjoying being cozy.

I’m sitting outside my laundry room watching my dryer like a hawk. Cleaned out the lint trap this morning. Like, REALLY cleaned it, for maybe the first time, with a brush and the vacuum attachment I got off of Amazon, down into the machine. I always clean the basic front trap, every time I use it, but I got down into it this morning, and it was gross.
But now my laundry room is… humid, I guess is how I would describe it, and it’s making a different sound than usual. Maybe that’s because it is actually working the way it is supposed to for the first time since we moved in, but I am anxious, as usual. 😂

I feel like I was cheated out of winter this year. It was warm for the most part, and we had one major snow storm only.
As a woman of dark sensibilities, it depresses me to think spring is close at hand.
But I had a strawberry and cream Pączki just now, so that helps a great deal.

Humidity makes me think it isn't exhausting out of the house properly. Long story short, the XIL would vent their dryer into the basement in the winter to "help keep the house warm" That’s what I am wondering. H was poking around back there this weekend to see if we can clean out the big vent tubes ourselves (which, no, because of how the house is set up), so he’s going to take a look at it this evening to male sure he reattached everything. I ran dryer with the two loads that were already wet when I realized and just kept a close eye on it and left the door of the room open to vent the heat and moisture out. But honestly, even though this one still works, I want a new dryer. This one came with the house and is just too much for us. It’s one of those cabinet dryers with the hanging/flat dryer on the top and tumble dryer on the bottom. I use the top for storage, like games, masks, the dryer manual.

I’m convinced i need to live in the tropics at this point because the highs in the low 60s for the last few weeks is just about going to break me. I want to feel warm, hot, slightly sweaty. Is it summer yet?

I feel like we need one more major snow storm before spring comes! Didn't even get to go sledding with the kids at all as it was in the -40s after the snow fall. Laaame, lol.
