I saw that earlier byjove. So crazy. I hope (and it does appear) that no one was seriously injured.

We got ice here. H went in to work today and said it was SLICK. And he’s from Colorado and took advanced driving courses required by his parents, and I am still worried about him getting home later. That video is terrifying.

As expected but woof. I can’t help but feel like agencies are playing catch up when it comes to deep fakes and/AI.

I think about the next 8-10 months and I just feel like I want to dig a hole, curl up in the fetal position, and stay in that hole. Election years in this country have come to feel like being held hostage by an emotionally abusive and manipulative system. I feel like literally nothing can be trusted, and the true worst case scenario is very possible. Like, how in the actual fuck did we get here? I used to feel hopeful that it was a bad chapter but would straighten out again and now I just don't even know.
Sorry for the Monday downer. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and have been growling ever since.

We're getting that here as well. Kids are home today and maybe tomorrow. Everything is closed. H still supposed to go to work since he is essential staff, so I'm a little worried. Especially since he is 2nd shift and gets off at 11:30 pm. We'll see if he actually makes it or not.

While I'm jazzed to not have to look at DeSantis' dumb face for the next while, I know it's just going to be the Trump show and that's worse.

I was "lucky" during the 2020 election because my H's cancer diagnosis in October let me totally disconnect from the whole shit-show and I cannot tell you what a relief that was for my mental health.

I work with mostly the same people today as I did in 2015. I was so naive then and couldn't believe people that would vote for that guy. I am aware of reality now but I will never understand their line of thinking.

I got drunk the day after the 2016 election. Nervously tipsy the day after 2020 and then celebrated when it was called for Biden. Is it healthy? Of course not. But fuck it all if the worst happens again 😭

Like others have said - I really don’t want Haley to be the first female president. But I could stomach that better than another 4 years of Trump.
I’m really worried and there are no good options 😭

Ice is no joke and I hope everyone who has to work in it stays safe. The cities of Portland and Vancouver basically shut down last week because of ice. People make fun of us but it's a mess and at least with everything closed emergency services can have command of the dicey roads.

People (and by people I mean boomers) were complaining online that school was cancelled last Fri because "we only got a couple inches of snow" and how when they were in school the boys used to get out and push the bus if it got stuck 😳 We had level 1 snow emergency due to ice and blowing/drifting snow on the roads 🤦♀️ We're supposed to get ice tonight and I'm sure there will be more complaining tomorrow

My brother is in MO and he said it was like an ice skating rink. It’s headed our way tomorrow/wednesday. H is a plow driver so he will be out in it.

The retired Superintendent that beat me in the schools board race just posted one of those stupid FB things about not consenting to FB using your pictures 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I do feel like he cares about having good schools but...the lack of critical thinking skills...jeez 🤦♀️

People make fun of us but it's a mess and at least with everything closed emergency services can have command of the dicey roads. This is my hill. People make fun of cities that don’t get much snow when the problem is really the ice and the hills. Atlanta was the butt of every joke every other year but the city had like 5 snow plows total and is more hilly than people think it is. I lived on a side street in the middle of the city that never got plowed and it was like a luge for a week after any measurable snow. I just wouldn’t drive and people who did would just bump off cars all the way down. and I remember one year Dallas had the same thing and everyone made fun of them. So I support all the people dealing with ice and dumb ass comments about not handling the weather. No one can deal with ice.

Our main roads were totally drivable by last Wednesday but the residential city neighborhood we live in never gets plowed so just getting to the main roads was a challenge until yesterday. There's also big trees so lots of shade keeping things cool. Ice is the damn worst but it seems to have happened enough here over the years that people hit the grocery store, weed store, then batten down the hatches which is basically how we now handle it vs trying to plow through it. It's better than people trying to drive in it. I roll my eyes at the teasing but I'd never make fun of another even milder/warmer locale for not handling it.
