In medicine, when you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.
The higher likelihood is that it is bladder cancer or ureter cancer. CRC can also be a guess.
As for colonoscopies and CRC. While it is true that regular scheduled colonoscopies will typically catch polyps before they become cancerous, not all CRCs are slow growing. Most are. My dad had a clean colonoscopy 2 years before being diagnosed with stage 4 CRC. He had a subtype that was highly aggressive and quick.

I have to get my first one thanks to my age and I don't want to do it, but I think about Jenna and how she'd tell me to suck it up already. Where do we stand on that whole "send your poop away in a box" situation? For lower risk people, the poop in the box is pretty accurate and a useful medical tool. However, if you have fissures or hemis, it is not recommended since there is a high likelihood to have blood in the sample and you will have to get a colonoscopy anyway.

I've been wondering about colon cancer, too, hawkward. But people his age are 'supposed' to get regular colonoscopies right? Like every 10 years and then every 5 after a certain time maybe? When I got my colonoscopy, my understanding was cancer there generally grows slowly so getting to late stage would mean it had been growing for years. Of course, maybe he never got those screenings? Or the cancer had metastasized there from the prostate? I'm just spitballing here. I don't like any of them but like Eagles said, I don't wish this stress on anyone. I have to get my first one thanks to my age and I don't want to do it, but I think about Jenna and how she'd tell me to suck it up already. I am dreading it too, even though I have the ability to be home and poop my brains out at will. 😆

I am such a rule follower and man it suuuuucked because I followed instructions very strictly. The doctor said they could tell, apparently. I guess a lot of people try to get away with not doing all of it and obviously they can see that when they go in, and it won't be as good/clear results.

Of course then you jusy poop out water but it seemed easier. Have some depends or bigger pads on hand for if you get too far from the bathroom lol.

I can probably use the box in the future every once in a while since I have no family history. It's useful for elderly who have mobility issues so my 85 yr old mom did the box. I also Have mobility issues.

I've had a few colonoscopies. The diet/prep ahead is not fun, but really don't find them to be that bad. I'm already on the every 3-5 year plan

So like, has Kate been murdered and they're hoping we don't notice or something?
Something's UP.

It’s obviously not fun but I didn’t think it was bad as I was expecting. The drink was by far the worst part.

Last year our work insurance sent out the poop in a box kit to everyone that was 45, but didn't tell anyone for 2-3 weeks after the fact. I tried to tell my boss it was a stalked who wanted a piece of her. Also, MH has his first next week, so on Valentine's Day, he will be pooping and drinking nasty prep medicine instead of eating heart-shaped pizza

Ahem, I don't really "go here", but yes, so many young people being diagnosed because they aren't at the age yet where they are getting regular colonoscopies it's getting caught later. I met the mom of one of my daughter's friends last weekend and she has Stage IV CRC and it's metastasized to her lungs and liver. When my H was diagnosed initially in 2015 he had been having poop related issues for a while and ignored it for the most part thinking it was NBD and when he finally did talk to his doctor, he got a lot of push back before they even agreed to let him get a colonoscopy.

This is why I pushed to get one a couple years ago. I had a female relative get dx at 36 and die 8 months later, and one other woman I know who died 3 years after dx in her 30s too. The doctor I had said he thinks the recommendation age should go down to 40.

Cases are really skewing younger. A friend from my bmb, who is an ob/gyn, really had to advocate for herself when she was bleeding. Stage 3, CRC. Thankfully, she has been in remission for a few years. I had my first at age 42 due to family history and bleeding. My bleeding turned out to be internal hemis, but they did find 2 polyps in there, so I am now an every 2 years colonscopy frequent flier. Insurance companies are pushing back against lowering the age, and it is criminal.

Oh man I really wanted him to be drunk but after watching I agree. I think just regular boring locked knees There is a longer video where he dropped the medal and then had a really hard time bending down and picking it up. It was weird- like a full body stiffness and difficulty grasping. He was really off and then looked much better later in the night, like he was given some IV fluids and meds to perk him up. He's not doing well for whatever reason.
