I worry these student loan debt cancelations are they tax free? Cause when bil had his cancelled in his 70s it was taxed.

klw DS1 has an iPhone. He can’t download anything without me okaying first (I get a text that I then can click approve or deny), I’ve got it set up with screen time limits and he has to ask with extra time and he can’t add contacts without authorization. He does have access to YouTube but I spot check him on that and he’s so far been very open if something inappropriate has been seen. He mainly watches lego builds on it. He has an iPhone and so do I so I can manage it.

klw, DD has an Android. We do much the same as the others - spot check texts, no social media, her account needs approval for any downloads. She's in 7th grade, so this works for now. I know that may need to change as she gets older. It's likely she'll get more leeway in middle to late high school.

If anyone is looking for a spooky season show that is actually about social justice, I'm really enjoying A Discovery of Witches. Fantasy/vampire shows aren't usually my thing but....Matthew Goode. It's a Sky production streaming on Max. Highly recommend watching with hot cider and a fall-y candle. Knitting optional.

I'm thinking of reading the books bc there were a couple of threads that feel unresolved in the show (e.g. why did we meet Juliette?)

Well. I tried to go check out tye first book from the library but there was a guy in a FULL devil costume (not the cartoons version, scary horns and shit) standing in the lobby next to a banned books dusplay and just slowly looking around. I noped out of there so fast and as I was leaving he slowly walked out behind me. I got in my car and locked the doors and hauled ass out of the parking lot but I felt like some violence was about to break out and fight or flight took over. I'm home now but I'm still shaking.
I fucking hate this.
ETA this is not me centering myself in a war, this is me being sick if being on alert at all times that someone could start shooting

My daughter was referred for speech therapy and she's now failed the hearing test twice. First time two weeks ago was just left ear, today was both. We went to the minute clinic after the first fail because she's a wax machine, but her ear was clear. The NP at CVS said there was some fluid behind her ear drum but no sign of infection and her other ear looked fine.
School nurse said today its likely Otitis media with effusion (OME) and I got her the earliest appointment with the ENT, which is almost a month out.

But it’s hardcover so I’d be better off just Amazoning to you lol.

I'm getting a number of people commenting on my campaign stuff about trans kids, bathrooms, and sports. I want to tell these people to mind their own fucking business. A couple of them definitely don't live in our jurisdiction, a couple look fake, and of course the book ban lady is chiming in 🙄
Neither of my opponents even have anything besides a few yard signs, but I feel like I should address it. I need to find the "right" way to not bring out all the transphobes in our area (there are unfortunately a fair number)

DD fell off the monkey bars at recess and fractured something in her arm. I guess they can't see the fracture on the X ray but there are signs of an occult fracture. Poor kid.

We are mostly in long sleeve season here, so I welcome any tips on keeping her warm enough. At the moment I've got her in a short sleeved shirt with a sweater over her left arm and the right sleeve just kind of tucked into the sling

dc2london Since she can't use the arm due to the sling, could you get bigger than she needs zip/button up sweaters and sweatshirts and just close the whole thing around her with the broken arm in sling inside the sweater? You might have to roll the other sleeve up a little if it's too long and you can pull the sleeve for the broken arm in on itself to keep it out of the way.
