They're fun, I promise! Kudos to him for having the time to train for that given his job demands. No small feat. Along with two little ones at home. That too, yes. Kids make working out... difficult.

Wtf?? I remember being miserable when I had the chicken pox. And mine weren't even that bad. I would have scratched a million times more if my mom hadn't been keeping an eye on me when I stayed home with it. That sounds like a plan for 'let's just give it to 100% of the kids here within a two week time frame and get it over with'

Imagine trying to teach while kids are scratching from the chicken pox! I also remember feeling miserable when I had it and I guarantee some kids will be sent to school feeling horrible because they’re not required to stay home.

Secretary Pete competed in the Ironman 70.3 triathlon over the weekend. I am just tired thinking of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run - let alone actually doing it I trained for a half marathon when my middle child was about that age and yeah, keeping him away from the treadmill on days when I couldn't run outside was ROUGH

I think they are giving people time to get home for the holiday Well they should have planned for that ahead of time. Let me be mad! Oh you absolutely can and should be mad! Jewish holidays are on the calendar like, years in advance, the Speaker knew this was coming and in mid September he's having discussions about HR 2?!!!? Why is he entertaining negotiations on bills that are complete non-starters in the Senate and White House less than two weeks before the deadline to fund the government???!!!!! IT"S IDIOTIC LUNACY (Hi. Am also mad).

I'm also furious that Speaker Spineless was asked to let President Zelenskyy address a joint session of Congress and said, "WE DON"T HAVE TIME"
He's a goddamn oompa loompah

Or, ya know, vaccinate them? There's no reason for the chicken pox anymore. It's no longer the 1990s when parents schlepped their kids off to pox parties.

My kids are older now, but lol to keeping them away long enough to get any sort of workout done at that age.

We had a guy speak at the school board meeting on Tues wanting to know how the school district is going to "protect kids" if Issue 1 (abortion rights) passes 🙄
The right is making it all about how your kids are going to be taken to the doctor by their teacher and given surgery to change their sex without parental consent. I had seen this guy at previous board meetings but hadn't heard him speak. He's my parent's age and doesn't have kids in the schools anymore. On one hand it would be great if we had more community engagement, but on the other hand please go away and read what the ballot issues ACTUALLY say

Who are these teachers and doctors that are maliciously planning sex reassignment surgery on unsuspecting students?

Oh man, they are also claiming they're the only ones doing any actual "critical thinking". It's a fucking shit show I just discovered the new principal at DD's elementary has a pastor husband that thinks "God still loves you if you're gay, but you 'can't give into the temptation' if you're following God's teachings". I've heard through the grapevine there is a young trans kid in the elementary and I'm scared for them/their family with this new principal. I found the pastor's church YouTube channel in about 2 minutes of trying to find out info about the new principal

I had chicken pox about a week after I broke my arm during a hellishly hot summer. It was miserable
One thing I didn't learn until recently is that if you get vaccinated for chicken pox/don't contract it, you also won't get shingles. They should be screaming this from the rooftops!

Re: project veritas they'd been in some expensive litigation for awhile and I can see that alone being enough to bankrupt them if they didn't have a big donor keeping them afloat. Would preemptively declaring bankruptcy allow them to avoid a big payout?  I could see them doing that and then instantly reorganizing under a brand new name/tax id, etc. it's hard to say. There are so many extenuating factors. Bankruptcy could avoid a payout if there are truly no assets, but then that's because it's just a legit bankruptcy. I have a feeling that they were banking on more income coming in and they didn't get it, so they overshot their reach.

This is good to know. I had chicken pox as a kid, but my DH didn't. I learned that he was vaccinated for it after pulling records for covid shots from our state in 2021. When we had DS, I always worried about the chicken pox issue and my mom told me all can be vaccinated now. After that I realized of course none of my nieces or nephews had the chicken pox as they were all older than my kiddo. Fond memories of having chicken pox as a child and I can't wrap my head around a country willingly putting kids through that.

I will say I'm genuinely surprised that the EU hasn't put the chickenpox vaccine into it's scheduled vaccine programm. Portugal had incredibly high vax rates for everything in the vaccine schedule, so it would be a no brainer. I have yet to understand a good reason for not adopting it. And in the interim Baby blurnette got the chickenpox while her brothers had both been vaxxed in the US. Unfortunately I hadn't realized it wasn't a part of the schedule until it was too late.

I'm a PS-8 school nurse and I haven't sent one kid for a sex change operation. I guess I'm behind.

Yikes
'Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey has been charged in a federal corruption indictment, the authorities said on Friday.
The indictment against Mr. Menendez, a 69-year-old Democrat who leads the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee, follows a lengthy investigation by federal prosecutors in Manhattan and comes nearly six years after his trial on unrelated claims of corruption ended with a hung jury.
The indictment, unsealed in Manhattan federal court, also names the senator’s wife of three years, Nadine Menendez, 56, and a prominent New Jersey real estate developer, Fred Daibes, accusing them of participating in the corrupt scheme. Wael Hana, a longtime friend of Ms. Menendez’s who founded a halal meat certification business in New Jersey, was also charged, as was a fifth person, Jose Uribe, a New Jersey businessman.'

Getting chicken pox later in life can be pretty dangerous

Menendez has been in legal trouble before, for similar things, if I'm remembering correctly.
He needs to step down and let the governor appoint a replacement.
