I'm a week out from my CT surgery, it's been a little easier since it's my non dominant hand. They gave my Ultram this time for pain which I've never had before but it basically feels like taking nothing.
The Dr finally got all the info in for my mounjaro appeal so 🤞🏼 They said it would take about 30 days.

I had my ESI on Thursday. It’s working great. He said my back looks considerably worse on X-ray than it did last time though.

Rusty RedSorry your hip issues are not resolving. Seems to he a run on that around here. My docs say its cause women have wider pelvis which changes how our hips and legs move esp if we have had a baby that tweaks everything. It sucks.

nelzieHow's your covid and your hand recovery and is pain less? Ultram for pain is weird drug imo It takes longer to become effective longer to reach peak than other opioids. Which is why drug seekers don't like it as much as other drugs. I had to add in motrin when I was taking it to get relief. Dh takes it for arthritis pain in his back some nights.

I did too much walking standing moving at Thanksgiving so mY numb toes with pain is back gosh darn it. I can't walk much at all since tday before it starts up. I go back for pt evaluation weds and I'm just gonna want anything they can do like dry needling that helps with numb and pain.

Yeah I tried the ultram twice before I gave up on it and just did motrin. Its still painful but not as bad as the first side. I get my stitches out Tuesday. I have to call them in the morning to make sure they are okay with me coming since I have covid. The last two days my test was barely there positive so I'm hoping I'll be negative soon. Monday is day 6 so I don't have to isolate but still mask if you go by the cdc. I'm masking around kids still because I'm hoping they won't get it. All I've had for symptoms is a stuffy/runny nose and that was pretty mild. The last two days I've felt fine.

He said it’s faster than he expected it to go, and he thinks it could go one of three ways- it’s my new “norm” for a while, the disc smooshes enough to autofuse, or one of these days I’m going to lose feeling completely and need surgery ASAP.

hawkward, the smush together enough to fuse sounds like um, not likely, unfortunately. dry needling maybe maybe tomorrow. we shall see, it's a reevaluation for physical therapy. so they usually wanna do exercise and then dry needling. Maybe Rob can figure out exercises I can do to get stronger, that don't really piss off the piriformis muscle, cause it's incredibly cranky. Unfortunately most exercises to move the glutes, the piriformis is involved too. arg.

Quick update on this end. After 6 weeks of PT, I had an additional 11 prolotherapy shots from the glutes through the mid back and am back at PT. Next recheck is the first week of January. Pain is less but there is a ways to go on strengthening. My right SI is definitely thinking about launching a coup against the rest of my body. Next week will be all the medical tests as we try and rule in or out autoimmune issues.

So physical therapy started out trying to get rid of my pain in my knee and leg. We did exercise and stretches cupping and dry needling and seemingly chased the pain all the way up my leg into my hip and pelvic floor. Then pelvic pt And a shot in my piriformis
Now we are doing pt and trying to chase all pain out of my hip and back down my leg. Using a lot of dry needling and totally different types of exercise.
It's funny except it's not funny that my pain is on a motorcycle running up and down my left side of my body over the course of months
We fix one quadrant and another complains.
Right now hip and piriformis are ok mostly. Then pain ends up behind thigh knee and calf. And always this pain we've determined is hypertonic pelvic floor
The numbness has been not there much except when I do way way too much walking using leg hip and knees. Like trying to christmas shop.
\end complaining

Since I'm the one who keeps popping this thread back to the top, I figured I'd do it again. LOL
My big goal for this new year regarding my chronic pain is figure out the reason for my pain and get better coordinated treatment plans.
Right now I have 4 different distinct pain areas, all related, but too many Dr's all with varying opinions on is it this or is it that, do this next or do that. I'm tired of feeling like there's nobody looking at the big picture.

I don't have crohns, which is great!, but I've started with a rhuemaotologist and my PsA arthritis is worse in my low back than expected (already indicating permanent changes), which makes me worried for my future (and could also be complicating my GI issues, so affected by inflammatory processes, but not IBD- the steroid course I was on helped more than expected). I have to get another MRI and then my rheum will start treatment. She thinks I have fibromyalgia too, which is likely given my mom and sister have it. I also have bursitis in my hips. I'm nervous about starting new meds (either a TNF infusion or a JAK inhibitor depending on what the MRI shows), and what types of side effects I'll have and how long until I start feeling better. Right now I struggle a lot with fatigue, compounded by bad nights sleeping/not able to find a sleeping position that doesn't hurt. I think I'll feel better once the treatment is started, right now the unknowns are hard. But I'm trying not to wallow, because that makes things worse generally for me.

Well. I am a mixed bag.
1. Acupuncture did not work. Okay.
2. Physical therapy is helping some. I really like it and would love to go once a week for the next year. Not sure what my insurance offers, though.
3. I have several sore, cracking joints. Both thumbs, both knees, both big toes and now I can feel things in my index fingers. What. It doesn’t really fit osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis exactly. I have an appt with my GP in Feb.

I'm not sure I still belong here since my pain issue is mostly resolved but I don't really have another place to air all my issues, lol.
I go back to work tomorrow following my 2nd carpal tunnel surgery, I've been off about 6 or 7 weeks. My carpal tunnel symptoms are completely gone in both hands which is amazing. I still have weakness and some soreness from the surgery but it's getting better.
My appeal finally went through and I got approved for Mounjaro for my diabetes and weight loss! I started last week and my blood sugars are already improving. I haven't noticed any negative side effects yet and lost 5.8 pounds this week. Mounjaro helps with inflammation too so I'm hoping it will help my wonky WBC levels as well.

I'm glad your carpal tunnel surgeries have been so successful. they are much better at what they do than they used to be. and yeah for a path forward with monjaro

How many sessions of accupuncture have you had? I haven't tried it yet, just dry needling. it takes quite a few sessions to really have relief and have it stick around. Since they focus on poking needles in slightly different locations, maybe give dry needling a try?
