Just counting down the hours until the kids go to bed so we can watch without 101 questions.

Notaš Season 2 recap: While on a job, Mando gets trapped on a boat and is saved by Bo-Katan and her crew. He helps Bo-Katan on a mission and is told to go find Ahsoka Tano, which he does. Ahsoka and Baby Yoda talk through the Force and she tells Mando his name is Grogu, and that she won't train him because he's too bonded with Mando. She tells him to bring Grogu to Tython, to reach out and see if there are other Jedi left who might be willing to train him. Mando does this, gets ambushed and is helped by Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. During the fight, Grogu is kidnapped by Moff Gideon. Mando puts together a force to save him (including Bo-Katan and Cara Dune), and during the rescue he faces Gideon. Gideon has the Darksaber, and because Mando beat him, the Darksaber is now his. While everyone is trapped on the bridge by Deathtroopers, Luke Skywalker comes in and absolutely demolishes the troopers, and takes Grogu with him to train as a Jedi. Mando removes his helmet to say goodbye.
These events have two fairly big consequences for Mando (aside from losing Grogu) - 1., according to his sect's creed, since he removed his helmet, he's no longer Mandalorian. 2, because he wields the Darksaber, he technically rules Mandalore. (Bo-Katan is pretty pissed at this one.) Happy to recap the relevant Book of Boba Fett episodes if that would be helpful. Don't want to spoil if you want to watch on your own

I love that they are retaking Mandalor. Not happy about Moth Gideon being there though.

I love that they are retaking Mandalor. Not happy about Moth Gideon being there though. I am upset about Paz. I feel like this season has been hit or miss with the overall tone. Fun space dad adventures! Super serious episode which felt more like an episode of Andor. Over the top campy episode with cameos! Exciting action episodes!

It's been super uneven - if it were a longer season, I wouldn't have minded the one-off episodes (Pershing, Lizzo & Jack) as much but with only 8 episodes it felt jarring. Which isn't to say I didn't enjoy those episodes - I did and I think they add to the overall post-Empire world-building - but I felt this season lacked an overall direction the previous 2 had.

I find it weird that if grogu is a powerful but inexperienced jedi who could use the force in the past to save his dad/mando/din Why did he not use the force to save him this time? I thought he was there in his robot the whole time but maybe I blinked and he was somewhere else?

We just finished season 3 too! I really should have watched the book of Boba Fett before. We tried to, but we made it through two episodes and it was so freaking boring, we couldnāt continue. This season of the Mandalorian made absolutely no sense until I started reading recaps online that explained it. I find that frustrating, Iām not a crazy fan, but Iāve seen all of the Star Wars movies and honestly this season was completely confusing and had terrible writing. I still donāt understand the point of the Dr Pershing episode. Nothing hit emotionally because there was so little buildup to get emotionally invested in the characters. Except Pazās death, that was sad. Iām really pissed that Mando didnāt even say goodbye to Bo-Katan!!! I was hoping for more out of that relationship. And yes, for him to settle on Navarro alone after all that seemed sad (and also like they are just setting up a future season for more random adventures). Basically I felt like the producers focus was more about marketing and crossovers with other Star Wars projects than actually telling a good story.
I just watched episode 3 of BoBF and it explained so much. š¤¦š¾āāļø why did they hide important plot information for the Mandalorian in another series?
